  1. Been watching your enjoyable videos on youtube.....why are you and your pals not wearing seat belts ALLof the time ?
  2. Me thinks that your actions are wise and considered. You are doing what you want to do because you can Phil. Continue to enjoy. Life is a one way ticket with no possibility of a return being purchased.
  3. Can you explain please John ? Import from Japan will be used vehicle compared to what in the UK......NEW/USED? Level of Spec different ? Other reasons for difference ? I have imported from Germany over 20 years ago, simply because of the favourable exchange rate, but there was no difference in the quality.
  4. Many thanks.it does look different and really nice. Avoid contact with grandchildren/ice cream/toffee/chocolate etc.
  5. Thanks Peter. This is I believe the current wording from the Extended Warranty Document " Eligible vehicle A Lexus vehicle which - (a) has been branded and sold by Our Holding Company, Toyota Motor Europe NV/SA in Europe as a Category M1 Lexus passenger motor vehicle; (b) not have been modified structurally, mechanically or electronically otherwise than with the permission of Toyota Motor Europe NV/SA or save for the purpose of enabling it to be lawfully re-registered in the United Kingdom; (c) have standard Lexus wheels and normal road tyres fitted to it; (d) possess or be capable of possessing a European Certificate of Conformity; (e) was purchased through the Lexus Approved Used Car Programme with the benefit of a Lexus Extended Warranty; or (f) is less than 10 years old and has less than 140,000 miles on its milometer at the start of the first Warranty" Note that in (f)....."at the start of the first warranty" I contend that as your first Warranty met the mileage and age criteria that you should be eligible to continue with it. Ask Lexus to explain their decision in the context of the wording.
  6. If the vehicle was bought from ANY Dealer, then it has a 6 month Statutory Warranty which makes the Seller responsible for correcting significant items. That would cover the cost of replacing the Radiator. The OP should then ask Lexus on what basis they sold him a Warranty which they now refuse to honour. Forecoming correspondence may make interesting reading, me thinks.
  7. You are spot on Stuart.....I was too lazy to check, but was grateful to Pete for reminding people and informing those who should have known.
  8. That looks a beauty Phil.Enjoy. Can we see the interior and especially those woollen covered seats? Do you live on the perimeter of an abandoned airfield or are you a gypsey?
  9. Many thanks Phil. Forgot to ask,do they change readouts on the Radio and Wavelengths too? We are ALL looking forward to the piccies.
  10. Just looked at their website Phil and they seem professional. Do they change the instruments to read in English and Miles? Is that your old GS300 FOR SALE WITH 73,000 on the clock? If yes, then the old story of falling in love with an old flame (LS) comes to mind.
  11. Hi Chris, nice to hear from you. The IS300h economy figures are astounding and would encourage me to have one if I could be pursuaded to part with my GS 450H. The IS seems to offer Lexus quality, engineering and reliability along with economy which once could only be obtained by small cars with diesel engines. I do intend however to keep my GS which provides for all of my current needs. DO continue to enjoy your IS and please keep us all informed as to how it is serving your needs. Lexus motoring is given only to the chosen few !
  12. Ah dear old Clackett Lane Services. Always my first port of call upon my twice yearly return trips from Spain. Such a haven of peace and tranquility, a veritable Jewel in the Crown of British Motorway Services cuisine. I think that dear lady cleaned my shoes on the occasion of my very first visit. :):)
  13. Please do not forget to include a pic of one of the two Geisha girls I believe are standard on this model Phil.
  14. In the UK Vlad, we have a Highway Code which is a booklet for the benefit of ALL Road Users (drivers, pedestrians, cyclists, motor cyclists and horse riders). One cannot obtain a licence to drive unless one displays a satisfactory knowledge of its contents and displays suitable competence when one`s driving skills are examined. Having passed one`s Driving Test one is expected to display continuously the skills and knowledge that one acquired in order to pass the test. Failure to demonstrate those skills will not necessarily lead to a prosecution by the relevant authorities, but may count against the driver , should any prosecution take place. There are many, many drivers in the UK who having passed their tests proceed to drive "without due care and attention" My experience of drivers of Audi,BMW,Mercedes, Subaru, High Powered Golfs and Astra`s is that many of them drive continuously without due care and attention either for themselves or other road users.
  15. Sorry, Vlad.Big letters were my mistake in not realising that caps key was on. I think that in general you are right.Audi,BMW and Merc drivers are today`s yuppies who can afford these cars and display arrogance and bad manners. Mt best pal has a BMW however and he is a gentleman personified in all he does. I also drive a (old) Merc and try to observe all that I learned from The Highway Code which cost me the principal sum of one old penny!!
  16. It would be most helpful if that BMW FRIENDLINESS AND HELPFULNESS MANIFESTED ITSELF IN THE FORM OF ROAD MANNERS Vlad.
  17. Well said Martin. You are an oasis in what has been something of a STORM. I can now cease reading this subject/diatribe, satisfied in the knowledge that I am not alone in the Lexus Universe.
  18. Clearly none of us are party to what actually transpired, but if the Buyer is to have a case to pursue, then (a) He will have to show that he was mislead into signing the Disclaimer and that it was simply a ruse by the Seller to avoid his own Statutory responsibilities and to "justify" to the Buyer the finally negotiated purchase price. (b) The M.O.T. Certificate will show the date, time and location of the vehicle examination and be compared with the financial documentation. If the Seller arranged the M.O.T. prior to issuing the Disclaimer the Buyer wins. If the Buyer arranged his own M.OT, he loses. But of course, all of that is subject to the Buyer, (the OP) telling us all what actually happened as regards the details of the entire transaction. If only matters were so simple !! The events may unfold. We shall wait and see.
