  1. I`ve had my car for 5 years plus and my consumption has increased to 27mpg (from 33mpg). I put this down to the colder weather and the more local commutes. The car sounds and performs as it has always done. A gem.
  2. The Plan covers everything required by the manufacturers service schedule and MOT`s. I (the customer ) pays for everything else. To date (5 years) I have not had to pay anything over my £34 per month.
  3. It is my understanding that the O ring was not designed to be launched at low temperatures. It was NASA Management that ignored the manufacturers advice and launched the Shuttle, that caused the disaster.
  4. Terminate the Plan or transfer it to the new Lexus vehicle.
  5. Me too. Took out a 10 year plan with Chester with fixed monthly payments. Have had it for 5 years and not paid one penny extra so far.A no-brainer.
  6. Check this out Gavin. https://www.honestjohn.co.uk/askhj/answer/101900/can-a-dealer-sell-a-car-without-offering-a-warranty-
  7. It is 6 months --you are being conned Gavin. Ask Citizens Advice Bureau.
  8. It is because the incidence of thefts from garages exceeds the incidence of thefts from drives in certain areas.
  9. On drive parking rather than garage and an additional driver can both often lead to a reduction in premiums. Consider an alternative insurer.
  10. If you have had the car for less than 6 months, then any Warranty is irrelevant as it is the Dealers Statutory Responsibility to repair/replace at his cost.
  11. I have never been that snappy a dresser Phil;the sock might have been suitable !
  12. I once drove a Citroen XM manual with the foot operated handbrake all the way from Central London to Wirral. Boy, that we some trial.
  13. Position42, if memory serves me correctly ?
  14. A good outcome then Vlad. Shows the benefit of shopping around. If you are anything like me though, when next year comes you will forget to shop around! Happy Christmas!
  15. Thanks, but where else can I keep my threepenny bits, tanners, shillings, florins and half-crowns Phil ?
  16. I only tried it once, but nearly broke my nose on the windscreen!
  17. HJ has been an advocate of left foot braking for many years. He was probably a student of LJK.
  18. Not you then in the Avatar JP? :):):)
  19. I must be in the Upper Decile, then !!
  20. I`ve had it for 25 years in 4 successive Mercs and never found it troublesome Andrew. Horses for Courses, I suppose.
  21. I have a steep driveway and this isn't a problem when I set off in the morning because the engine revs higher until it reaches working temperature. However, if you drive about a bit and park the car on a slope, when you pull that lever to drive off the car rolls. The park brake is either on or off and you have to do some fancy footwork with the brake and accelerator to avoid a ding. Have no idea why Toyota went with this. The footbrake in other models worked fine. Sounds like the system I have in the Merc. Can`t you use the left foot on the brake?
  22. Best to use your own children if possible Andrew! :):):)
