  1. "Their whole reason for being is to serve customers;" .....and to make a profit Herbie. I believe that you and Shahpor are both correct given your respective perspectives and I admire your respect for your personal computer customers. You are amongst an increasingly smaller breed, sadly.
  2. Hedgehog is backed by Berkshire Hathaway not insignificant organisation. Google it and you will find that they have identified a gap in the marketplace!!
  3. Welcome Mo.Pictures when available if possible please ?
  4. An update for Deet. I filled the GS 450h (Gen 3 ) with Shell Super V and travelled from Wirral to St Andrews in Fife last Monday morning via the new Queensferry Bridge a distance totaling 290 miles. I have covered 100 miles locally with School runs, trips to local Cubs and Rainbows groups and local shopping and have just filled up with 52.8 litres of Tesco Momentum. 52.80 litres divided by 4.546, gives 11.6 gallons into 390 miles gives 33.62 mpg. My overall mpg over 55,000 miles gives 34.7 according to the OBC. If I assume a not unreasonable 8% error in the OBC, I arrive at 32mpg overall. For a V6, providing a sublime ride in near silence with performance available whenever and wherever I want it , that is the "price " I pay. The Gen 4 version is somewhat more frugal, but not ecstatically so, and I am sure that other members can provide their own stats.
  5. My first car was a 1948 Morris Minor with a split windscreen and a foot operated dip switch. My view is that the driver must retain responsibility for all aspects of the vehicle at all times and as such I do not have any of the "automatic" faciities switched on.
  6. That`s the outfit that traded under "Mosesgate! near Bolton. I would be very wary .
  7. In Town only, I got 28mpg last week covering 107 miles. In colder weather, just in Town I expect less, perhaps 23/24 mpg. Mine is a GEN 3. Hope this helps.
  8. And you might get a reduction for adding a named driver (a parent or another older person) ?

  10. The point of impact is tooooooooooooooooooo late to assume anything Terry. NASA assumed all would be well when launching Challenger!
  11. Happens to my Merc whenever I park in Torre del Mar in Andalucia. It is caused by the transmitters/receivers located on the roof of the nearby local Police Station.
  12. Why not write to HJ at https://www.honestjohn.co.uk/askhj/ and ask his advice Alexander ?
  13. Thanks for the update Robert and good luck in your quest to obtain what is rarely available.
  14. Reliability is the most important for me as I would not enjoy listening to music for x hours while waiting for the break-down truck to arrive.
  15. I have this problem with my 2003 Merc W210. It is not the bulbs it is the plastic lens which has been subjected to sunlight over the years and has become cloudy. HJ suggest using Brasso, but I have not found it successful so my Indie suggests I take it to a local body shop for them to use power tools to remove the cloudy/milky substance from the lens`
  16. Many thanks John. Your knowledge and experience is invaluable to us duffers.
  17. Lexus Chester wanted to charge me approx £340 for a battery for my 450h and tried to justify it by referring to the temperature "thingy" that was attached to it. I did not take up their offer and recharged it myself. It is now working as it has always worked.
