  1. What, exactly, does your contract state?
  2. Eligible vehicle A Lexus vehicle which - (a) has been branded and sold by Our Holding Company, Toyota Motor Europe NV/SA in Europe as a Category M1 Lexus passenger motor vehicle; (b) not have been modified structurally, mechanically or electronically otherwise than with the permission of Toyota Motor Europe NV/SA or save for the purpose of enabling it to be lawfully re-registered in the United Kingdom; (c) have standard Lexus wheels and normal road tyres fitted to it; (d) possess or be capable of possessing a European Certificate of Conformity; (e) was purchased through the Lexus Approved Used Car Programme with the benefit of a Lexus Extended Warranty; or (f) is less than 10 years old and has less than 140,000 miles on its milometer at the start of the first Warranty Notes. I think that the content of item (f) above suggests that you are correct Charlie.
  3. Thanks Andrew. You have written what seems to be an honest assessment of your experience and circumstances. Lexus Cambridge do not come out of it well 20,000 miles from a set of Michelins is poor by my standards, but your fuel consumption figures are in the Parish of mine.
  4. To me, the items requiring attention at MOT time as per the DVLA site are not consistent with the advertisement which stated that it had spent much of its time in a London underground car park.
  5. Indeed we did,but then Steve told me that something had gone wrong with his system and he did not know what the problem was. It is a pity, as you know well it is a feature of many other systems and often very useful too. Your new wagon is looking a tad grubby and could do with some tarting up!! Enjoy.
  6. I`ve been asking for about 3 years now for this Forum to introduce Sequential Numbering of Posts !!! It`s like talking to a brick wall.
  7. Thanks. Please do not forget that the Trader has rights too, namely the right to make good at his expense the necessary repairs. Please keep us all posted and be gentle with the Trader initially.
  8. There are none at Lexus Dealers at the moment Ian---keep checking their website.. Have you posted in the SC Forum, which is where you will get the best advice? Check MOT via DVLA Problems are normally due to poor maintenance by non Lexus people. Good luck and do let us all know how you get on
  9. You have posted twice young man and I have misread your first post! You have not bought yet,but if you Buy from Lexus Dealer he will probably warrant the car for 12 months. Buy from a Motor Trader and you will get 6 months max or probably less Try to buy one with a full LSH Check the MOT history from the DVLA Website
  10. Morning Ian and welcome to the Lexus Club. In order to have a sense of perspective can you tell us did you buy from a Lexus Dealer, a Motor Trader or Privately? What sort of service history does your car have ? Do you know the number of previous owners Give us the reg no. More members will be along in dues course.Do not despair!
  11. This Company has only been registered in the last 18 months or so and started to advertise the assets of a Company which operated out of Bolton and whose name I cannot recall. I would be very wary of buying from them. They are not an authorised Lexus Dealer. I would scrutinise the MOT history, for which we need the reg no. I would wish to speak to the last owner Buyer beware,
  12. Prius are known to have exceeded 400,000 miles on the original HB.
  13. If you are referring to the Hybrid Battery, then Lexua` warranty on them is for 15 years, so long as you have an annual Health Check which is free with the Lexus Annual Service.
  14. If it is the car you want and the spec you want and it has a FLSH, then I would offer 15k and walk away if your offer is refused. Negotiate that if you encounter warranty problems you can take it to your local Lexus Dealer for rectification. Good luck and please do report back.
  15. Tom Paxton the American Folk singer, in his song "Talking Pop Art" said amongst other things, "I don`t know much about Art, but I know what I like" I have followed these contributions from a distance with considerable knowledge and experience of motoring and have been mildly amused at some of the things that have been said. My conclusion remains what it was at the beginning "I don`t know much about Motoring, but I know what I like! Here endeth the lesson.
  16. Peter, Is there anything of use within the Handbook, or if not have you considered asking your local Dealer (Chester?) If it is Chester, then Tom Skelton and Phil seem to know most things.
  17. I arrived home from Andalusia on Monday evening and on Tuesday I fired up the Lexus which had lain silently since 5 April, but had been connected to my AA Solar Panel Charger via the OBD Port. It burst into life immediately and I thanked Big G for his wisdom in allowing my poor old brain to arrange for trickle charging via the Solar Panel. (I forgot last time) I mentioned this rather proudly to Mrs Roy, who had flown home 2 days prior to my departure and she reported that her Mazda 2 had also fired up instantaneously and she had not had any Charger connected! So, food for thought indeed ? I will not change my habit of connecting my Solar Panel Charger however, as my experience tells me that whenever I connect it, the car fires up and whenever I don`t it does not, as the battery has gone flat.
  18. An accident is an unforseen event. What you are experiencing is carelessness, which comes under the banner of "driving without due care and attention." You ignore the fact at your own peril Vlad. Report the offender(s) or relocate if you can.
  19. Just driven up from Andalusia via Madrid, Bordeaux, Rouen and Calais. .Audi`s BMW`s and Merc`s all of the way. 4 Lexus, only. Oh to be different and superior!
