  1. It is not the person who came up withe idea that is culpable it is the person who approved its incorporation within the vehicle specification !!
  2. I have a dashcam in each of two cars. They are for recording incidents, not entire journeys Terry.
  3. You are not only comparing chalk with cheese Thomas, but you are also asking the wrong question on the wrong Forum !
  4. The Hybrid Warranty (assuming it passes) goes forward and has no regard to past mileages. 10,000 miles annually each forthcoming year. I would only buy from an authorised Lexus Dealer as they provide a comprehensive 12 month Lexus warranty. Have you checked the vehicle history via the DVLA website ? It provides an invaluable insight to the things that have needed attention to pass the MOT Test Timing chains can last 200,000 miles as has the one on my Merc. I do not know of Lexus` experience. Ask Lexus Chester or whichever Dealer is local to you. I have a 2010 GS 450h, which I have had for 6 years. It has covered 60,000 without a murmer.
  5. I would not buy from a non- Lexus dealer for £12,000 with that kind of mileage. It is possible to pay approx £60 at a Lexus Dealer for a Hybrid Battery Health Check and if it passes and you do less than 10,000 mile annually and you have it checked annually it will be covered for 15 years from its date of manufacture. Good luck.
  6. Thanks John, Please keep us all updated on your use of it. MPG, Maintenance, Instrument reading (if in Japanese) etc.
  7. Perhaps the best in-depth car review I have seen and the best I am ever likely to see for the Camry! I would certainly shop at Tesco rather than Waitrose as I continue to recognise value for money and I don`t mean cheaper !! The drivers` of Audi, BMW and Mercedes cars will take aeons to appreciate the qualities that Lexus has to offer. Meanwhile, I will continue to enjoy what for me are the unsurpassed qualities of my GS450h.
  8. My understanding too, although in my experience the purchase of a personal plate is NOT make the vehicle appear younger than it is.
  9. Wow, thanks John. I often wondered why Lexus (Toyota) did not make a large Estate, similar to the Merc E Class and now I know that they did. Enjoy.
  10. Hi Bryan, Do let us know how the deal goes and what sort of Warranty the Dealer provides with the car. Lots of piccies would be helpful.
  11. Wonderful. Can you provide detils? Engine size year mileage calibrated in miles? English language instruments? Overall cost? more piccies. I am envious. Congratulations.
  12. From what I read Mercedes Approved Used Policy is"let the customer tell us what is wrong." An appalling situation. Let the buyer be aware is more evident than ever.
  13. That is bad news and suggests that the Lexus Dealer has not fufilled his part of the bargain. Approved by whom for what, one might ask? Care to name the Dealer ? I will be visiting my daughter in Glasgow shortly and would not wish to be sold short as you have undoubtedly been. Please keep us all posted as to how the Dealer recovers your trust.
  14. Do not forget that you will need an International Driving Permit to drive in France and one for Spain, should we exit the EU on 31 October.
  15. As regards the pay given to footballers, I couldn`t agree more, John. In a Capitalist world however there exists the law of supply and demand, so goods have different prices as does labour. Let`s stick to motoring matters!
  16. I drive down from Wirral to Andalucia ( and back ) twice each year-1600 miles each way, then another couple of thousand whilst I`m down there. All a breeze. Continental road users show more knowledge and respect towards each other than we do. Roads in France are very enjoyable and the Autoroutes are basically empty. Fuel is expensive. Roads in Spain are delightful and Tolls have been removed in Northern Spain.Fuel is cheap. I am booked on the Shuttle from Dover to Calais in mid September. I will spend the first night in Normandie in the village of St Leger aux Bois. I will then drive close to Limoges and stay in the village of Saint Junien. A visit to the tragic village of Oradour sur Glane follows, then I will stop overnight just North of the Pyrenees in Mont de Marsan. My fourth and final overnight stay will be just North of Madrid in the wine growing region of Aranda de Duero. The drive will be unhurried and an absolute pleasure. The people I meet and the places I visit cannot be reached by Easyjet or Ryanair and I wouldn`t have it any other way. I will begin my return journey on 29 November and I commend Continental motoring to those of you that have not experienced its delights and pleasures.
  17. Thanks John. Engineering, Technical Drawing, Metalwork and Woodwork were not any of my strengths !! Mind you I could tell anyone my Times Tables and boy I could spell !!
  18. I`d carry out a Risk Assessment first Geoff, if I were you!
  19. And this? https://drivers.lexus.com/t3Portal/document/om-s/OM30695u/pdf/OM30695u_edited.pdf
