  1. Blimey Ron ! Which was the Insurance Company/ How long did your Policy have to run? Was £7 refund a reasonable sum? Did they quote an increased premium for the new policy? Did you go elsewhere to take out a new Policy and was it cheaper than the one offered by your original Policy? And if you get all the questions right Ron, you can come back next week to try for the Big Prize !!
  2. Indeed Brian, without question, even if only for advisory purposes. I would suspect that most if not all would view the change as a modification.
  3. If suspension is not mentioned on the DVLA Form V5, then you do not need to tell them Ron.
  4. Sue him immediately ( and include the quote he uttered) and listen to his pips squeaking. Ask the DVLA to disclose ownership and you might find it belongs to a Company. If so, write to the Company Secretary and disclose the employee`s poor behaviour. Oh, and install a dashcam. I am so pleased I live in the North !! Good luck.
  5. Malcolm, you said in your first post that you were swiped by the Porsche. Ask the owner of the Porsche to pay for the repairs to your car and do not go through insurance. If he refuses, then sue him in the small claims court for the full cost of the repairs to your car and for which he is responsible.
  6. It might have been terminal Phil if the Insurance Company had handled matters. There are times and circumstances when without being in Breach of Contract matters can be concluded most satisfactorily. Well done Mike.
  7. same here.Took it out 6 year ago and havn`t paid any thing over and above since. A no-brainer. Just had a headlamp replaced.....under warranty (after 9 years).Another no-brainer. Barry needs his head testing !!
  8. Hi Martyn. First of all, welcome to the club. Hope you enjoy the world of Lexus motoring. Secondly, I am not sure I understand your particular problem. I have a first generation sat nav system in my old Merc, but it transports me to a village in Spain via a variety of routes, twice each year. The fact that it is not updated need not be a particularly serious problem, so what exactly do you need an expensive updated system for ?
  9. And you can pay monthly interest free! And you get free Annual Hybrid Battery Health check FOR 15 YEARS FROM DATE OF FIRST REG`N. And you can buy a Lexus Extended Warranty covering 10 years from 1st Reg or 140,000 miles whichever comes first. Welcome to the club by the way.
  10. Almost Roger. However "Advisory" does not constitute a failure, so there would have to be a significant failure or malfunction of an item or system within 6 months of purchase before the Consumer Protection Act 2015 can be invoked.
  11. KILLER HERTZ was the member on one of the Forums who showed what was possible via software (You tube)
  12. Deal directly with the infidel in the Landrover Mike and steer clear of insurance.. He will probably have the resources to pay for the repair and the desire to protect such driving record as he has. Good luck.
  13. Quite possibly the hardware is standard across the range of grades, but the software has been "desensitised" ?
  14. Hello Peter and welcome to the Lexus Forum. I have a 2010 Gen 3 GS 450h. It is one of the later productions of the Gen 3 which I understand ceased production in mid 2011. It has covered 60,000 miles (approx 100,000 kms) in 9 years without fault. It is maintained by Lexus here in UK, It is covered by the Lexus Extended Warranty and it receives an annual Hybrid Battery Check which covers the next 12 months so long as you do not exceed 10,000 miles in that period and it can be checked until the Battery is 15 years old. My Battery indicator shows readings similar to yours and I do not ever recall it showing completely full. I cannot think of any reason you should not choose the 450h. I have just read Lee`s comments and I endorse those. Please do report back on your decision.
  15. Your Handbook will identify the location and purpose of the fuses, Steve.
  16. Les is quite right. Fight it and please tell us the name of the Insurance Company.
  17. Ask them for details of the corrosion warranty on the vehicle when it was new Kam. Yes, the Warranty you are referring to covers only mechanical or electrical failure of a Protected Part. Compared to 3rd party warranties the Lexus Extended Warranty is a 5 star policy, but that does not mean that it covers everything.
  18. Go to Lexus.co.uk/used cars/ ct200h/advanced search and you will find 42 cars with sunroofs.Pick one out that has the spec you require.
  19. Spot on Ian. Alan seems to misunderstand the point of my question and the status your claim.
