  1. Why not talk over your problem with Richard (a Forum member) at http://www.hybridbatterysolutions.co.uk/
  2. I`ve just arrived in Andalucia in my heavily laden 17 Year old Merc Estate E220 cdi. O.B.C. SHOWS 59.3mpg, the best I`ve ever achieved largely due to the National Speed Limit in France having been reduced to 50mph on non-major roads. Just look forward to your retirement Adam and ponder what you might achieve in your (by then?) Electric vehicle !!
  3. I love reading stories like this Richie. I have never had any kind of Jam with Bacon Rolls--must be a Yorkshire thing I suppose. Buy the Soarer and cogitate afterwards. Please keep the story flowing and consign Eric Carlsson to history ?
  4. Best to leave air con on all year round James and merely adjust the temperature at which it operates. This keeps all seals etc lubricated and does not allow them to dry out. Use of air con has minimal effect on fuel consumption
  5. I see where you are coming from Herbie. I happen to agree with Wass that SOME breakdown guys do not know how to jump start a Hybrid. Unless you tell me that I am wrong, the jump start process for the Hybrid car is the same as for non-Hybrid EXCEPT that the donor car does not need its engine to be running as it is merely feeding the Hybrid`s 12v battery which will then start the Hybrid engine via the Computer. The Donor car is NOT required to power up the Hybrid`s engine via its non existent stater motor. (if you get what I mean)
  6. What SOME of us already know Herb. I do get irritated when people ask for advice which can often be found right in their own glovebox or Tablet.
  7. And no clutch And no conventional Gearbox And no unexpected repairs The minority of motorists are the best informed, John
  8. I bought my Merc Estate for 15k with 60,000 on the clock 19 years ago.. It now has 243,000 on the clock, and would fetch £1500 so in depreciation terms it has cost 14p per mile. (subject to audit) The subject of depreciation in terms of cost per miles never crosses my mind. Whatever floats one`s boat It has cost over the years more in repairs than I would have wanted. My Lexus has cost nowt in repairs over 6 years and a lot in terms of depreciation. I just love driving either car. It costs whatever it costs if I choose to keep them.
  9. A GREAT AND VERY SENSIBLE POST GEOF. The Owners Handbook is the first place one should look for advice.
  10. You could consider recording it,Oh nameless one, and play the recording to the Dealer?
  11. Quite so David. Who dares wins, is worth remembering. But if his heart is not in it, then an avenue of hope will not be walked.
  12. Try to avoid going through your Insurance Company and sue him if necessary for the cost of putting you back in the position you were in before he hit you. Take legal advice asap.
  13. OBC figures are generally in the range of 5-8% too optimistic. Just driven 750 miles through France where National Speed Limit (on non Motorways) has been reduced to 50mph and it makes for a considerable reduction in fuel consumption. Was parked behind a Black 19 Reg NX on the Shuttle to Calais. Your figures are very good Geoff.
  14. You have been sold a bum steer Nigel. A warranty job certainly.I`d call it consequential damage due to a failure of an integral feature.
  15. Welcome JP, I might see you in Lexus Chester sometime.Enjoy.
  16. Reads like a Trader acting as a Private Seller and wishing to avoid his Statutory Responsibilities. Be extremely cautious.
  17. Welcome back Chris. The Premier seems to be a good package and is my choice if I were to trade down from my GS 450h.
  18. Yes, I remember reading that and thinking "my thoughts too" I`d have had my contribution removed too Richard ? Perhaps the mod had a headache ? Takes all people to make a world. Onwards and upwards, as they say.
  19. Not found anything funny in this post......must be me !!
  20. never read it....................................give us a laugh !
  21. One thing that was mentioned that I didn't know is that it was claimed that anyone who has a service plan gets tyres at cost price Now that really is worth knowing Shahpor. Many thanks.
  22. Ha, Ha,Alan you are sounding like Alan, or Gordon, or Scott, Or Virgil or John, from Thunderbirds.
