  1. Very pleased for you James. Miracles may take me a little longer to perform !
  2. James, my Lexus Extended Warranty has breakdown cover FOR ME AND ANY VEHICLE IN WHICH I AM TRAVELLING.Yours will too. I called them yesterday to attend to my son`s car which was on my drive and the bonnet release mechanism had failed. The AA came promptly and gained entry in no time.Read your Policy Document....................Good luck.
  3. Why not just call the AA OR OTHER SUITABLE BREAKDOWN SERVICE?
  4. Good for you James.I could not agree more with you. Enjoy.
  5. If you have the Extended Warranty cover, then use it and the AA will come calling free of charge.
  6. Welcome Colin. You have bought a wonderful motor...........the same as mine. If you bought from a Dealer, they will probably arrange for a local garage to attend to it for you at their cost. If you bought it privately, then it should not cause any problems, but the advice offered by Rich 1068 seems sound.
  7. Nice purchase James. She looks to be a well cared for car. Did you manage to stay within your budget ?
  8. Roy, Why don`t you ask Lexus UK Head Office (by email) to let you have a hard copy? You will not be the first person to make such a request.
  9. Welcome Tom. I agree with the first line of James` response to you. If you did buy from a Dealer , Do not however, follow his advice in his next paragraph,,,,,,, lest the Dealer disowns the car claiming that you have done something that has caused your niggle(s). If you bought the car privately, then take it to your Lexus Dealer and obtain a quotation for remedying such problems as they find. Then report back to the Forum with the findings so that we can advise you further. Good luck.
  10. Do not kid yourself FA. They are clearly not fit for purpose and would not stand up to scrutiny under Sales of Goods Acts. Be bold young man !
  11. Peter, It is not the chips you are complaining about, it is the quality of the product as evidenced by, amongst other things, the chips on the shiny bits. Good luck, but for a £40k plus car you should be treated at least, satisfactorily.
  12. A Toyota failing going back to at least 2001. Do not be fobbed off Peter.
  13. Any reference in the Handbook Geoff ?
  14. Teamaker, Your initial thread entry stated that you had read all about Lexus, you did not say that you had driven any. Many people who say they want one subsequently form the view that 1. They do not have the street cred of an Audi or BMW (if that is what you want) 2. The ECVT box is unlike any conventional gearbox 3. They defy convention 4. The infotainment systems are not at the forefront of technology. 5. It is for older drivers. and I thought that you should experience for yourself, rather than just read all about them. Do let us all know of your decision whatever you do.
  15. Welcome teamaker. Have you driven one yet, as they are not everyone`s cup of tea---if you forgive the pun !
  16. I agree with you Martin. Please keep us all updated.
  17. see item 4 https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-2nd-gen-1998-2005/254179-dome-light-fuse.html
  18. Welcome Danish. Have you asked GOOGLE ? Can we have some piccies please?
  19. Many thanks Jack.Much appreciated.
  20. Jack, I`ve looked at The Lexusman`s website and find that he has had some nice SC models. What is he like to deal with and are the conditions of his cars all that he says they are ? I am beginning to get an itch for an SC model as it looks like an older man`s Touring Car and I am in that category !
  21. Spot on Roger.I avoid Cheshire Oaks like the plague. I do all of my shopping on line.
  22. I have both Pete. They are independent of each other, but having the Service Plan should mean that the Dealer is on your side if you have to make a claim on the Extended Warranty.
  23. And City centres will lose even more customers to out of town Retail Parks.
