  1. If you were told that the car only had one key, then you missed your opportunity to make the provision of a second key, a part of the deal. If you were not told and you did not ask, then it is up to you to pay for a second key.In these circumstanced you might ask the dealer to pay 50% of the cost of the replacement key.If he agrees, then ok. If he does not agree, then give him a bad review on his website, but stick to the facts and do not leave yourself open to being accused of libel.
  2. Welcome Steve. I have tyre wear on both inside edges of front tyres on my Merc and have been advised that Tracking needs adjusting. Check oil, water etc before travelling to Heathrow and keep an eye on the water temp gauge (if you have one). The GS should gobble up the miles without any bother. Remember that the Dealer is obliged to correct (at his cost) any significant problems which may arise within 6 months of purchase.Go back to him with any problems and do not involve any third party. Good luck.
  3. I do not have an NX John, but does your Handbook offer any advice? Welcome to L.O.C. by the way.

  8. Members 1 8 posts Name: Martin Lexus Model: Rx400h Year of Lexus: 2005 Location: Other/NonUK Report post Posted April 9 Hi All, Newbie here. I have a 2005 RX 400h with 193,000 on the clock. I have had a strange issue. When pulling up to a junction, braking gently, the engine "stalled" and the braking jerked, like some one had run into the back of me. The check VSC system light came on along with check hybrid system. The car then ran on battery only for a short distance so I pulled over and switched off. I restarted it and then only the "check hybrid" light came. The car then ran as normal, using engine and battery but with the engine management light on as well. After arriving home, I switched off and the started it again 5 minutes later and no lights were on and it ran normally. This happened last week and then exactly the same the other day. My "local" lexus dealer is closed at present and are booked up for all of May so can't get it looked at which is a bit of a worry as my mother is not in good health and I may need to help out and she is 120 miles away. Has anyone had anything similar or any thoughts on what it might be. Thanks in advance. The above is your original text, so lets hope that other members can chip in Martin.
  9. Welcome Martin. Please tell us what the issue is or provide a link to your other post. Are you living in UK or abroad? How long have you owned the car and did you buy it from a Dealer or privately.
  10. Welcome Dave. I had expected you to contribute before now having bought the RX a little while ago. The MB fraternity sure does not like to be told of its relative infallibility, but I`m sure that many of them will come to realise the Lexus attributes as they grow older and wiser. It is a great pity that MB do not warrant their Hybrid Batteries for 15 years as do Lexus. I`ve had mine for 6 years now and not had a problem. The Extended Warranty covers vehicles up to 10 years old and 140,000 miles, but does require the vehicle to be serviced at Lexus Dealerships. I look forward to your future contributions.
  11. Very,very nice indeed,but beware low flying birds !

  13. Cig lighter is not normally live when ignition is off so use battery or charging points under bonnet (if any) or OBD 2 port. You are better off with a CTEX MX5.
  14. Welcome Andy. Send us some details and pics and reg if possible and we`ll do our best to comment. You should have 12 months warranty in which time you can have problems dealt with.

  17. Answers seem ok,but If you can name the Seller, we can research him.
  18. What; is the car ? is the current mileage ? who is the seller ? What warranty is being offered ? What MOT does it have ? How many previous owners ?
  19. I don`t think he means HV Battery, he means 12v battery. The HV Battery is warranted by Toyota/Lexus for 15 years subject to certain conditions.
  20. There was lot of investment into VHS and Betamax Roger, but they were overtaken by the Digital age. What if vehicles were constructed of Solar Panels which had the ability to extract and retain and subsequently use stored energy whilst on the move ?
