  1. And don`t forget......https://www.autovillage.co.uk/used-car/local/northern-ireland/cars/lexus/sc
  2. Make sure that he knows that you are a member here and have received sound advice from Neil and Bob. Then all one can do is wait and continue to look elsewhere. Anything yet from people on this Forum who have bought imports, albeit LS or Celsior, Or Nissan? Look at J D Mayes website and ask them about importing. Likewise with Japex Ltd http://www.japextrading.com/index_en.html
  3. No harm in asking again.
  4. Adopt the Sherlock Holmes approach. Tick off all of the possible problems that you (and others) can think of and if it passes, then you must have the right car. If in doubt, then do nowt ! (fingers crossed)
  5. Can`t tell you as Nick has bagged it. Thought you were all hands on everything? Have you asked Lexusman yet as he`s just acquired one that might interest you?
  6. Good news Pete. I hope it all goes well.
  7. 1. You are associating with an awful lot of fellas here VL, but to the best of my knowledge and belief you have not asked for mobile numbers ! 2. I do hope that VL is not a pseudonym for a bloke ! 3. A lady must be allowed time in which to make up her mind, sadly. 4. An admirable saying is "he/she who hesitates is lost", which is why presumably there are so few females in the S.A.S. 5. Imports, well Fernando Torres, was an excellent buy, but I would not have touched an Alfa Sud with a barge pole! You will get much good advice about importing LS and similar from Malc, Phil and Steve. Good luck in your quest for the almost impossible.
  8. I have just written to (Bristol) Trading Standards by email and completed their on- line form.
  9. Pete, Companies House is a bit like DVLA at the moment--understaffed and inundated with requests. You are entitled to inform Gumtree and eBay of the current situation re the records at Companies House, preferably by email.
  10. Looks like a Camry to me. Very nice.
  11. I don`t imagine a seller would be happy to do this Dan, lest the potential buyer walks away.
  12. You are a wise young Buxxer Herbie !!
  13. Look at Page 488 in your Handbook Dan.
  14. Thanks Daniel-you made me laugh. At least someone is noticing that there are self help avenues rather than asking Forum Members. all of the time.
  15. Thanks Dan.Not your wrapped car is it ? From the perspective of the buyer having bought this particular wrapped vehicle and wishing to sell it. *Not being able to say when, where it was wrapped and what sort of warranty was provided. *Not being able to say why the colour of white was chosen for the wrapping. *Not being able to say why D.V.L.A. Form V5 is not showing the same colour. *Difficulty in explaining why it is wrapped to a potential buyer in such a way as to satisfy him/her. *A possible absence of demand for a wrapped car as a potential buyer will not be able to view the original bodywork and form the view that it has been wrapped to conceal something and thus express little or no interest in the car being offered for sale.
  16. Selling a wrapped car might cause a few problems.
  17. w.r.t. = do we all have to guess George ?
  18. Germany IS, not Germany are Roger. Have you been missing Lockdown lessons again?
  19. A useful video, but it needs updating. 15 years now (not 10) and a max mileage of 150,000 cover, although the car`s actual mileage can be unlimited. Each Hybrid check is good for 10,000 miles, but car`s odometer if it reads, say 200,000 at end of year 14 needs to read less than 210,001 for a claim to be successful within the final year of cover ? Comments invited. I will now retire to my Bunker!
  20. A gentle tap, in the pursuit of perfection. A paradox innit ?
  21. That`a long way in one day---600 miles Jason ?
  22. Paul, I have never had an IS250. All i know about them is perhaps 4/5 years ago Honest John (HJ) CALLED IT THE MOST RELIABLE CAR ON THE PLANET, albeit a bit thirsty and who am I to argue with him ?
  23. 27/30 around town.(brim to brim) 35-40 on a trip, Wirral to St Andrews, Wirral to Hanover (brim to brim) On board computer says 35 which equates to approx 33(brim to brim) My first car, a Morris Minor gave me 33 in 1965, so I am content given that it; Could not use unleaded fuel Did not have a V6 engine Could not accelerate to 155mph, or do 0-60 in 5.9 did not have linear acceleration. I have been quoted several times as saying that driving a GS450h is like being the Captain of Concorde and Captain of the Starship Enterprise...at the same time! Do enjoy your new car and do please keep us all posted.
  24. Thanks L. All of that makes it an interesting proposition for a potential new owner. It`s going to cost you an awful lot of money to save a relatively small amount on fuel, but if you can afford it and you want to and you are not placing a lower priority on something that a member of your family would place much, much higher, then go for it and enjoy it and don`t forget to give us a full report with piccies, then off you jolly well go!
  25. How long have you had it? Buy it new? How many miles have you covered in it? Why are you letting it go? Full service history. There is /was so much more you could have added Lucky.
