  1. I never knew that Paul.Which manufacturers please?
  2. Phil, the Service Plans are rather reasonable and you can pay monthly a fixed sum for 2 years now, I think. I took out a 10 year plan but I doubt they are available now. Servicing can be full or Essential. Look at details on website and an Extended Warranty can save you a lot of money should the worst happen. Anyway, do enjoy the IS.
  3. Hi Phil and welcome to the Forum. I guess that at 7 years old and 98,000 miles you did not buy from a Lexus Dealer ? You are not the first to move from a German car to Lexus. Did you know that one can buy (a) Service Plan and also (b ) an Extended Warranty so long as the car is less than 10 years old and travelled less than 140,000 miles? And the Hybrid Battery is covered for 15 years from date of registration subject to a few conditions Look at the Lexus website for more information on these matters.
  4. Never had to do that, thank goodness. Anyone know what happens when the ignition is switched off in an automatic vehicle whilst in Drive and in motion ?
  5. It is a wonderful car in a beautiful colour Caroline. Welcome to the L.O.C. In 4 weeks time you will be quizzed on the contents of the Handbook ! (LOL)
  6. I had a similar problem with the Type 3 VW Fastback Phil many years ago and it was the Power Steering belt. Have you checked the inside walls of the front tyres as a bubble or swelling there might impart a wobble at speed. ?
  7. Nice one Pete.T`was my first thought this morning, so I googled for recent installation in Herts and found nothing.
  8. Power Steering mechanism.Check fluid, connections, belt.
  9. Yes, you are right Jason. There was a recall of vehicles affected. VW had something similar 30 plus years ago where pressure on the footwell caused vehicles to accelerate.
  10. I`d report in writing to Lexus U.K. immediately Piers notwithstanding the age of the RX. Glad that no one has been injured.
  11. WelcLexus Indie Garages.docxome Richard. There is one near Sheffield on the list.
  12. If you have not done so Wayne, then join the Tesla Owners Forum and have a few laughs. Those Americans do take some beating on the World`s stage.
  13. You are right Peter, but we should not overlook the fabulous new Corolla Hybrid which will offer much of what the IS did/does.
  14. That is on a par with what Mercedes Chester charged me for a replacement key for the Merc.
  15. You Steve. You seem to know so much that is helpful to members. You either know the answer or know where to find it.
  16. You are spot on Ed.Those that know a lot drive Lexus ?
  17. Excellent news indeed Ray. I have just heard that Mafeking has been relieved ! (lol)
  18. Welcome Mark. I do not have an IS300h but understand that they are well built and very reliable.Owners will comment themselves shortly I am sure. I can however advise you that ; I would buy from a Lexus Dealer as he will probably offer a 12 month warranty I would take out a Service Plan for probably less than £40 per month I would take out an Extended Lexus Warranty which will cover Mechanical and/or Electrical problems so long s the car is less than 10 years old and covered less than 140,000 miles. The Extended Warranty will mean that you have to have the car serviced by Lexus but that will include an annual Hybrid Check at no extra cost. The Check will provide cover for 12 months and 10,000 miles. The Hybrid Battery is covered for 15 years from the date of first registration. The Extended Warranty also includes free breakdown cover for you in any car in which you are travelling. All food for thought.
