Sat Nav whirrs when car is turned - covered under warranty?
royoftherovers replied to Akash's topic in Lexus CT 200h Club
Thank you Akash. I understand that it is part of the Inchcape Group, but is a franchise that not been subject to much criticism in the recent past. If we accept your view of events and in my opinion it would be illogical not to, then an extremely strongly worded letter/email to the current Dealer Principal would seem to be in order. Such matters need to be addressed in order to inform and importantly to try to prevent such inadequate Customer Service being distributed to future customers. I am certain that Lexus U.K. would not wish to be associated with such lamentable behaviour. If you would like to send me a Private Message (PM) setting out as full as possible the complete story of your purchase and subsequent events, I will try to compose a letter for you to consider sending to a Senior Person at INCHCAPE. -

1st Successful claim by Frank the Hornet. This his posting on Tuesday 4 July 2022. On the issue of RELAX being successfully usedI had the dreaded issue of the Tailgate not opening whilst on holiday in Ireland last October Herbie kindly helped with potential issues, nevertheless I could not get it to function. Took into Chalfont Motor Company one of the authorised Lexus / Toyota garages & they reset it & cleared the fault, didn't realise at the time the garage put it through RELAX, it showed up as a repair on Lexus link. April this year the same issue occurred, again they tried reset to no avail, the Power unit Assembley was replaced under RELAX. Quite painless only issue was the liaison between the garage & Lexus UK to confirm the coverage this over a couple of days. I haven't seen the final cost ( will ask at the next service in September for invoice ) but 6 hours Labour plus the part the garage had mentioned circa £!500. All in all very pleased with this outcome on a nine and a half years old RX. As an aside I clarified with Lexus UK when my coverage of RELAX would expire, car goes for service 2/9/22 & will be 10 years old 13/12/22, Lexus UK confirmed in writing that RELAX will expire 2/9/23 so the RELAX will last until the car is just shy of 10 years 9 months old.At this stage I will look for the Extended Warranty. All things considered RELAX has worked out extremely well & may have been the difference between changing my beloved RX !!

And it would come with at least a six month(Statutory) Warranty which would provide sufficient time to discover any matters which would need to be addressed by the Seller (Lexus Leeds)at its cost. A 2009 Reg is one of the last models to have been imported into UK, so arguably a very good buy, even at £25k ?

The Relax Warranty was announced on 1 June 2021 --see Vhttps://media.lexus.co.uk/lexus-offers-customers-unprecedented-warranty-cover-with-new-relax-programme/. In order to form a view as to whether it is being successful from the Owner`s perspective it is essential to try to maintain a record of claims made under the Relax Programme. I have introduced this Posting for L.O.C. Members to record each instance of a Claim being made and the outcome of that Claim. Two years will have elapsed by the end of the current month and to date no claim has yet been made to the best of my knowledge and belief. If any Member is aware or becomes aware of any claims having been made, whether successful or not can they please Post an appropriate note under this Topic title. The Posting should state if known the nature and date of the claim, its outcome, reason for acceptance or refusal and the name of the Lexus Dealer/Franchise through which the claim was made. It is only by maintaining a record of claims made can a view be formed as to the success or otherwise of the RELAX PROGRAMME. Thank you.

It appears that a second vehicle may have cut across, but I do not know that stretch of road and I would ask "why is the driver of the car which has the camera located within it, so far left on the road ?"

Lexus 10 Year Plus Extended Warranty
royoftherovers replied to wharfhouse's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Thanks Phil. I will check the understanding of Lexus Chester before I take up the offer of the new 10 year plus Extended Warranty. Have you heard of any successful claims yet under the RELAX WARRANTY ? -

An excellent Posting Phil which If I`m not mistaken largely reflects one you have written previously. My only question on this current Posting concerns the content of your final Bullet Point and in particular the statement contained within the second sentence. Are you saying that a failure within the Multimedia System which impacts the performance of an operating essential vehicle system (eg air con ) is included within the new 10 year plus warranty ? I ask this because in the next few words you refer to "this is an additional exclusion". Can you clarify please ? It maybe as simple as the word "not" having been excluded from somewhere. Thanks Phil. I have stated several times that the proof of the validity of the new RELAX WARRANTY will be in the number of successful claims which are made. To date I am not aware of a single successful claim having been made. Are you, or is anyone else ? -

As do Local Authorities ? -
An incident does not have to include a collision or contact or accident, just report what it was you saw and which is recorded on your dashcam.

Refreshing and well balanced all round view.
