    Spot on John. I have told our children that they should never buy a car from French or Italian manufacturers and to be very wary indeed about any German manufacturers. Buy a car made by a Japanese manufacturer and your repair costs will be minimal.

    Hang old CD`s from the branches so that the flickering light emanating from them might disturb the settling birds. I found that old Des O`Conner ones work best. As regards stains try vinegar,or lemon juice mixed with water. And be very careful,but try a small amount of WD40 on a small indiscrete area of the paintwork. Please keep us all updated with your findings Henry.

    Surely Barry, it is the contents of the Handbook (if any) rather than the anecdotal experience of a small number of drivers who have not had any problems, which should carry the day That is, until such times as the Handbook is changed on the basis of empirical evidence ?

    Sorry to read that Stu. Keep copious notes of events, timings and dates etc, lodge a copy with the local Police or Town Hall before you come home. This might help you avoid possible problems when you return next year for the car and the UK/French relationship has changed. Good luck.
