  1. I do enjoy reading logical questions.
  2. You have just reminded me Piers of a song we used to sing in the back of the Shara returning home from cub camp...... "oh,you never go to Heaven, in an old FORD CAR, COS AN OLD FORD CAR WON`T GET YOU THAT FAR!!"
  3. Let`s close this down, then as silly old me put 2 and 2 together and got 9999! I thought that the original Pete mentioned was my old mater PeteTP..........BUT IT WASN`T......I`M SO SORRY FOR THE CONFUSION. I have just arrived in Glasgow en-route to Cromarty for a short break, so my postings will be rare for a week or so. Thanks James Mason for the explanation as to how you stumbled into Lexus.Your thoughts about Audi, BMW and Merc, all echo mine.Welcome to the tranquil and reliable world of Lexus pleasure and please do contribute to the Forum.
  4. Just read this and decide what is appropriate for your smell. https://www.honestjohn.co.uk/search/?type=Question&q=air+con+smells
  5. The people who by and large, had Lexus were in a different age group to those that drove BMW and had no need to acquire and maintain street cred Gareth ?
  6. I leave mine on all year and like Lark,do not have problems. I have had the rotten smelly egg problem in some other cars and got rid of it by turning the heating comtrol on high for the last 10 minutes of several journeys until all of the bacteria had been killed.
  7. Welcome Steve. How did you come to be a Lexus owner and show us some nice piccies please. Are you saying you are pleased the VSC light does not come on and have you checked to see if the bulb is there or maybe taken out to hide a fault ?
  8. Just follow what is in the Handbook Jonatan.
  9. That must be covered within the Handbook, surely ?
  10. OK Simon, thanks and good luck...Let us all know how you get on please.
  11. Thanks Davey. That was indeed service above and beyond the call. His willingness to assist you has led to him receiving good press on this Forum.
  12. i`ve just looked his website Davey, so how was he really helpful to you ?
  13. See if any of these help Simon. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-1st-gen-1999-2003/424491-99-rx300-rear-window-washer-problem.html https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-1st-gen-1999-2003/249476-rear-wiper-no-wash-fluid-out-nozzle.html https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-1st-gen-1999-2003/257711-rear-windshield-washer-fluid.html
  14. A sensible idea Peter, but if we have too much "Auto", then it is likely that drivers will not check what they should check on a regular basis. Sadly too many have today abdicated their responsibility to "Auto."
  15. Hi Don and welcome to the Forum. At 52 you are still a young man compared to some of us. Tell us where you bought the car and how you came to be attracted to Lexus. Going forward you need to ensure a decent maintenance regime and try to find a competent garage/mechanic nearby to you. I attach the current list of garages our members have used, but none in Dorset itself. For your comfort you should know that perhaps 5/6 years ago HONEST JOHN in the Daily Telegraph described the IS250 "as the most reliable car on the Planet" . Lexus Indie Garages (1).docx
  16. Air expands when heated and contracts when cooled. Science/Physics. lesson over.
