  1. Just be extremely careful out there Alex as there are some rogues about. Full Lexus service history and Hybrid Battery certificates are musts. Check vehicle MOT on Gov website. Ask questions on here if in doubt. We are not rich people ,just trying to be careful with money.
  2. I have a list Jeff of those garages/Indies that have been reported as satisfying the particular customer.Lexus Indie Garages (1).docx
  3. Thanks Colin. The penultimate paragraph is interesting and touches on something I have been going on about for some time. Can you explain its contents in simple terms please, particularly the last sentence, giving an example ?
  4. Thanks for posting Andrew. One can only speak as one finds and sadly yours is one of an increasing number of Lexus Dealerships which are falling short of the bar. This will inevitably lead to customer dissatisfaction levels being reflected within published statistics. The best thing one can do is complain in writing, first to the person who handed you the Bill, then also in writing to the Dealer Principal, then if necessary to Lexus UK Customer Services with a copy to the Dealer Principal. Upon conclusion do tell us. There is an increasing number of Dealerships being acquired by large Motor Groups such as Jemca, Motorline, Inchcape, Vantage, RRG Steven Eagell and Listers and some of them also deal in other so called premium vehicles. There are few if any outstanding Dealerships amongst this lot, but fortunately there is still a number of small Dealerships, a number of which are Snows at Hedge End and Exeter, Montys at Sheffield,Hendy at Poole and so on. Hopefully these. approx 12 others and accredited Indies will blossom for the future.
  5. Welcome David. A very nice car you have there and it might take you 12 months to really get to know it. Lexus Cardiff is part of the Motorline Group as is Bristol. If you post under the Ls400 etc Forum, you might receive more responses.
  6. Welcome Alex. Piers has already sent you invaluable information which you must inwardly digest. Buy from a Lexus Dealer, if you can,but you only have 2 to choose from in Scotland I believe. Buy a Gen 4 model if you can (2012 on). I don`t think that Lexus Dealers now stock the last of the Gen 3 models, but I could be wrong. Buy only with a full LSH
  7. Thanks Colin. Can you point us to that in a document so that members can be aware of it and refer to it?
  8. Colin ,the UK warranty for Lexus is 3 years?
  9. Thanks Herbie. I`m sure that you read it somewhere, but not I think in relation to Hybrid Battery (HB) Check. You are right about the Hybrid check covering the first 10,000 miles since the check was performed and as far as the total mileage is concerned that would equate to warranty coverage of 140,000 miles in total given that the first check would be after 12 months. In total mileage however, if a car does 100.000 in year 1 then the warranty on the HB following its first check would expire at 110,000 miles and if it did another 100,000 in year 2 then the second HB warranty would expire at 210,000 miles and so on until the expiry of 15 years since first registration. Unless, I am crossing your wires, so to speak, old buddy!
  10. Where does 140k miles come from Herbie ?
  11. Poor service as you say, Michael. It is a pity that you did not email the Dealer Principal to remind him that he had twice forgotten/overlooked to call you back and showed clearly on your email that you were copying Lexus Customer Service. Lexus Cheltenham will reap as it sows!
  12. A small update Simon, but a huge outcome. Glad it is sorted.
  13. Try Michelin Cross Climates on 18 inch wheels and higher profile tyres John.
  14. Roger, have you seen the Lucid Air E.V. ?
  15. Hi Nic, I thought of you and your brother as I floated past Alness a few times. Just been reading about the Lucid Air, a competitor of Tesla. Might have one in the afterlife! I might suggest it to Roger for his consideration--should cover 400 miles on one charge, so his new Director Partners cannot sneeze at that !
  16. Back home again (not a John Denver song) ! Spent 11 days out of my prison home for the past 5.5 months to enjoy an extremely responsible and peaceful existence in Ross and Cromarty in a small and very quiet B&B in Cromarty itself. Just Mrs Roy and me and a dearth of travellers who were almost outnumbered by the Army of Mothballed Oil Rigs stationed at strategic points in Cromarty Firth. Blue skies, gentle breezes and an abundance of good healthy food mingled with the occasional tub of Rasberry Ripple or Chip Choc Mint ! Road trips to Helmsdale via Dornoch and Brora to enjoy a picnic lunch watching the small fishing boats return to harbour. To Rosemarkie to view the Dolphins and taste the local Haddock and to Muir of Ord to purchase the Golden Elixir for myself and others close to me. Paradise indeed. A total of 1320 trouble-free miles and an overall fuel consumption of, yet again, 38mpg from a magnificent GS 450h.
  17. Now there sits an honest man from whom one should willingly buy a used car ! Good luck Roger and beware the Spiv !
