  1. Can`t you ask them what the wording I referred to means if it does not mean what it says? ?
  2. You are so right David "its people wot matters " It is not what they say, it is what they do.
  3. You have been technically incorrect on previous occasions Mark and you are not being as helpful as you could be to members. Please get things right, do not waffle and do not rely on what others have said to you. If you do not know definitively, then say so. Cut the bull**** and act responsibly. And take the time out to see what you have said to me previously about "sealed for life" I am in the process of replying to your last contribution to this thread Mark and I do not want you to be quiet about anything, but please be correct in what you say.
  4. Mark, you have not said that previously. Please look at what you have said. For reference, it was replying to a conversation with me.
  5. But you and I both know Mark what that means ! And it does not mean what owners think it means, does it? Why don`t you tell them what it means?
  6. He fooled you then Mark, Herbie is but an apparition !!
  7. No problem Vlad. Never believe what people say, trust what is written officially. Regards.
  8. Interesting Herbie, as the text is from a Toyota Yaris Handbook.
  9. This paragraph has been taken from an Owners Handbook ●After exiting the vehicle and before opening the fuel door, touch an unpainted metal surface to discharge any static electricity. It is important to discharge static electricity before refueling because sparks resulting from static electricity can cause fuel vapors to ignite while refueling.
  10. I know what you are saying Herbie, but what do you (as the man in the street) understand by reading (e) in the extract I put above ?
  11. If your current Extended Warranty says this, then (f) says you can as I read it. ! "Eligible vehicle ---A Lexus vehicle which - (a) has been branded and sold by Our Holding Company, Toyota Motor Europe NV/SA in Europe as a Category M1 Lexus passenger motor vehicle; (b) not have been modified structurally, mechanically or electronically otherwise than with the permission of Toyota Motor Europe NV/SA or save for the purpose of enabling it to be lawfully re-registered in the United Kingdom; (c) have standard Lexus wheels and normal road tyres fitted to it; (d) possess or be capable of possessing a European Certificate of Conformity; (e) was purchased through the Lexus Approved Used Car Programme with the benefit of a Lexus Extended Warranty; or (f) is less than 10 years old and has less than 140,000 miles on its milometer at the start of the first Warranty"
  12. I thought plugs were changed at 60k and 120k Vlad?
  13. Herbie, are you saying that the ICE will not even start in the first instance ?
  14. Enjoyed that Thomas, thanks. Drove back from Cromarty last week in the GS,via Inverness, Loch Ness Fort William, Loch Lomond,Glasgow, M74, M6, M53 to Wirral.
  15. Thanks Balan. Traditionally, the Lexus will give you different "difficulties" to the BM.......as you are obviously finding out! Please contribute freely.
  16. Thanks Bart, I merely try to keep a watching on things Members say about their recent experiences with Lexus and Independents. My results are not based upon scientific methods and are subject to criticism. They are simply observations and can be deduced for themselves by any one who reads this Forum. R.R.G.Group seems to comprise Stockport, Bolton and Bradford. I do not have any records of a sales outlet currently in Manchester. Incidentally I think that you can group Mercedes along with Audi and BMW for poor/non-existent customer service..
  17. Welcome Balan to L.O.C. following your period of observation and learning. It is good to hear from you. You approach to purchase and ongoing maintenance and repair is most thorough and sensible. Your views on changing the Transmission oils will be both challenged and supported by various Members and I will the jousting to them. It would be helpful if you could inform us all why, how and where you bought the RX4OOh and what your current impression are.
  18. Jemca Group, based in the South do not set the World alight with its Customer Service. Neither do the other "big boys" who hold Lexus Franchises. You have Vantage,Montys (Sheffield), RRG Group, closeish to you and Montys is by far, the shining Light according to reports Bart. There are others but not had/read any poor reports from them. Pinkstones at Stoke and Lexus Hull both get good reports.
  19. Well done Richie. That should enable a full recovery in Warp time .Congratulations.
  20. Thanks for the information Louis. My wife was born in Newcastle and we will be up in early November, weather permitting. I see that you have one of the last SC`s as 09 was the last year of registration. Do enjoy what is one of motoring`s pleasures and contribute to the Forum as you feel appropriate.
  21. Part of the Steven Eagell Group IJP along with M.K. Ipswich,B`ham and Hatfield. Thanks for reporting.
