    An MOT in Dec 19 would not require another one for another 3 months. If the Dealer selling this vehicle has done or arranged for the MOT to be done, I would walk away. 43K miles in 15 years equates to less than 8 miles daily !!

    Keep using it frequently and buy a CTEC MX5 Charger and keep it connected whilst you are not using the car. I have tried over the years to achieve 500 miles by adding miles covered and miles remaining and have only achieved that twice. Inevitably. mine was a mix of town and long distance driving, but never in my imagination did I think that 600 would be achievable from a V6. Did you encounter long periods of 50mph,or during a long hot dry spell or what ? Please explain.

    A great write up David. Pleased for you. Remember that a few have had battery discharge problems with the 400h. Have jump leads, or ctec mx5, or one of Herbie`s much publicised battery jump start packs, handy.

    Secondary Bonnet Catch replaced at noon on my 10 year old GS under Lexus Extended Warranty. Would have cost £113 I was told.

    That`s interesting David and on the face of it would appear to agree with my point in the second post of this thread. The acid test......have you made a claim on the Extended Warranty which expires in 08/21 ?

    Thanks Barry, the update is much appreciated. No real surprise that the original cannot be produced. Hopefully Cheltenham will play its full part in the application for a Goodwill contribution. I am pleased that you have decided to apply for the Extended Warranty. Mine goes into Chester at noon tomorrow to have the secondary bonnet catch replaced under Extended Warranty. I will ask how much that would have cost me had I had to pay and will report back for completeness.

    I could not disagree Lee. Your willingness/eagerness to get to the bottom of matters has undoubtedly sparked the imagination of some and made others (like me for instance) marvel at your approach. It`s what makes the World go round !

    So, not a good advert for TB then? I have not seen as much work having to be done on a Gen 4 GS previously. With the benefit of hindsight would spending £45 per month on a Lexus Extended Warranty, have saved you a lot of time,money and hassle Lee?

    TB fitted a new S/S exhaust on March 9 2017 Lee.Did he not fit S/S hangers ?
