  1. Unless one has a GS 450h that is, Sir.
  2. Read this Mr X. Only accept minus points from contributors to this Forum. Do not believe all that motoring journalists might write. Good hunting. https://www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/lexus/ct200h-2011/
  3. Now, had one switched on autopilot ?
  4. Yes David, so true. Fancy leaving this World with a bang up the backside whilst being decapitated or garroted by the belt!
  5. It is so sad to find that when dealing with car salesmen an oral contract is denied! Write down everything that is agreed and incorporate it into an email to the Salesman with a copy to the Dealer Principal. You will be amazed how effective that practice can be. It will either be denied immediately or accepted grudgingly.
  6. The flight deck of Concorde ?
  7. That seems a reasonable price for retrofitting JP.
  8. David, having now watched the video, it is my view that ; 1. UK drivers should not be encouraged to do anything that would permit the viewing of video whilst driving. It is illegal. 2. Passengers should not travel in the vehicle with their feet off the floor and strapped in by a seatbelt. Death comes to mind and it is probably mentioned in the Handbook too. The concept of using Youtube is highly relevant however, should Members wish to avail themselves in conjunction with the H...B..k !
  9. Excellent David. There are several on Youtube for Mercs too. I will increase your Stipendary, for the considerable efforts you are making to educate !!
  10. Welcome Kevin--2 beauties. That LS reminds me of the Merxc W210 saloon from that angle. She`s a wonderful colour.
  11. Welcome Kyle-I think we have spoken on another thread?
  12. Many of us did David, but we were outdone by the VHS Brigade. I have kept a VHS Player and a Scart cable so that from time to time I can watch some of my cassette tapes. I am particularly fond of being thoroughly amused by Victor Borge and his Phonetic Punctuation always has me in stiches.
  13. It is quite a lot of fun actually David. I did not expect it but I can see that it is deserved in a tangential sort of way. At least it tells me that my message is being received ! Back to the point.....we really need to find out what it is or might be. Piers is the only one in the running at the moment for the prize of a Betamax videotape of old Hitchcock out-takes with Bob Newhart !
  14. Thanks Partner.....I really did expect a substantial contribution from such an esteemed contributor to this Forum, William.
  15. That`s two David`s in extremis!
  16. One suspects a plot is looming !
  17. I don`t have them on my GS, but I like the Volvo inspired idea of being seen by others moments prior to your vehicle being seen if it did not have them. Sadly many manufacturers only wired them to be seen from the front leading to many motorists thinking they had some rear lighting in poor driving conditions. They were never intended to be a substitute for standard vehicle lighting. I always drive with my dipped headlamps on thus ensuring that I can seen both front and rear. So, my answer to your question David, you don`t need them if you use your standard vehicle lighting.
  18. We suspect it could be 80 years old. We have perhaps 12 of them, found in an old shed. They are perhaps 15 inches high, cylindrical with a flat top and handle and an undulating bottom, which suggests that they might be inverted and lain on the ground. The hoops are covered in what appears to be a type of (long lasting) string.
  19. I think that is brilliant young Mark ! Thank you.
  20. David--SC430 and post on the other website I gave you too.
  21. MB Dealerships are worse then lousy Colin and are only interested in Corporate Sales. Their Sales people appear disinterested as a customer approaches and their product knowledge smaller than infinitesimal. The rise in the number MB Indies speaks volumes. Lexus Dealerships-the big boys- need to take care if they are to avoid a similar situation.
  22. Never took it as being rude at all Peter. There are those that ignore the Manual/Handbook and expect to be spoonfed!
  23. Have a look here Kyle. Lexus Indie Garages (1).docx
  24. Ah, a well educated man! Boy, are we glad to have you around Peter. Join the debate!
  25. So,so true Piers !
