  1. One is encouraged to display one`s heritage or favourite.
  2. I`ve had a flat battery twice and it has recovered quickly after using the car frequently. In fact you have ne need to drive it, just sit in and press switch until "ready" shows. If the battery is running low, the engine will start in oeder to put charge into the battery !!
  3. Too soon to change the battery in my view. Drive the car daily if you can and let the engine charge the battery for you. And buy a CTEK MX5 as Ricky implied above to charge the battery regularly when unable to drive the car.
  4. Many thanks Barry. You should be well satisfied with your purchase. I am sure that other UX owners will come along when they have read your opener and give you information and advice. There is some good advice about driving a Hybrid on the Lexus website and on Youtube too. If you need more information, just ask. Hybrids do not have starter motors or alternators, so there is less to go wrong. Vauxhalls are competent vehicles, but Lexus is in a different universe ! There will be much to amaze you and educate you too. Looking forward to the piccies in due course.
  5. Welcome Barry. We look forward to hearing more from you in due course. Why Lexus, Why UX, What preceded Lexus? and some nice piccies please.
  6. As long as you are back to your old self again Herbie, that is all that matters.
  7. I am really sorry I asked the question David. You see, I am old and I am knackered and one day I might forget to turn my Dipped Headlamps on. If I`m ever down Toulouse way again I will give you a swift and friendly flash on my Dipped Headlamps---if I remember !
  8. This is the posting you have forgotten Herbie !!Posted September 9 Haha, what can I say John - not enough sleep and too much stuff going on 😄 2 You and Spacewagon52 reacted to this
  9. David, why don`t you revisit the question of "why do I want them in the first place ?"
  10. What did we tell you a short while ago Herbie, when you asked this question ?
  11. Something that is live all the time the car is moving. Surely, you mean "when ignition is switch on?"
  12. Thanks for the update Martin, it is much appreciated. Keep looking and let us all know how you get on.
  13. Better than we might have hoped for Barry. Congratulations both on that and your decision re the Extended Warranty.
  14. Thanks, that`s a very high profile and should give a good ride Don.
  15. Thanks Barry. It is a long way short of Classic Status--40 years old, to avoid Road Tax. Some insurance companies call cars classics from 20 years old. Mine is 18 on Jan 3 2021.Just turned over to 247,000,but not really moved it since returning from Spain in early December 2019.
  16. What size were yours Don ?
  17. I know what you mean Phil. The breeze higher up turns my straight down the middle drives into a Left Handers Fade !
  18. Cast around for insurance Barry. I have just insured 4 cars (Lexus GS, Merc E Class Est, Toyota Yaris and a Mazda 2 ) for £800, on a Multi car Policy. Fully comp inc Euro cover.
  19. Hybrids are not subject to emissions testing for M.O.T. purposes. Several Members have reported replacing C.C. (which have been stolen) with straight through pipe and have passed their M.O.T. tests. So, why not do as Barry says, but instead of seeking out generic items ,use pipe ?
  20. It probably belongs to one of his many "friends" Ganesh.
  21. Well said Gavin. You and others have adapted well in moving from V.A.G. motors and are appreciating what Lexus has to offer. Many new CT owners fail to appreciate that Hard Suspension, Low Profile Tyres and an F Sport model will always give a firm ride. Motoring journalists rarely buy their own cars, are relatively young and they therefore fail to appreciate what is on offer. For a Porsche owner to appreciate Lexus is something of a rarity. Thanks for contributing.
