  1. HonestJohn (the original HJ, not the numpties who currently write his column) once described the 6 pot IS as "the most reliable car on the Planet."
  2. An extremely expensive lapse, but it can so easily happen to us all.
  3. I married an "urban myth" and now she`s my mythiss !
  4. It`s proper `cos it has a Torque Convertor.
  5. Don`t think it is Vlad old pal. Just wait until Mr Barber or Mr Thackery read wot you have said.😊😊
  6. I really enjoyed that video Nick. Thanks for making and presenting it. I`ve had my Gen 3 for 7 years and it is coming on 11 years old now and it still drives like new. No problems to report. I understand completely and can appreciate most of what you say. But as Mr Keats said "Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder" Your comments about power, rarity and understated luxury and quality are my perceptions too. I think that the word you were seeking to describe the acceleration might have been "linear". Many thanks again and best wishes. John
  7. Good advice Paul, telling all current and future owners what not to do.
  8. I was warming to the points made by Sully until his penultimate line. There I was gliding gently down to the Hudson with him until he hit me with "for an A5 Sportback" when he should have said "for a Premier"
  9. Thanks for the information Alan. It does sound, if you`ll forgive the pun, like a nice car to have. Please report back on the attitude of the M.B. Dealership if and when he experiences matters which need to be referred to it.
  10. Just hang around Sunshine and you will become educated.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Now, where did I put my HGV licence ?
  11. I too was perplexed by that remark Vladimir.
  12. I wouldn`t be surprised to find that they are David.
  13. Do check the small print George as the value of our vehicles could easily be exceeded by the cost of bringing it back to UK and there is a need to show that the vehicle continues to be serviced in accordance with Manufacturers instructions. Please let me know if you find out about travelling as we`ve not been to our villa in Spain in almost two years now.
  14. I paid mine early and did not receive an invitation to pay again !
  15. Brilliant Herbie, thanks. NOW WHAT ABOUT INTERNATIONAL RESCUE ?
  16. Thanks Mike. 3 Toyota`s speaks volumes. Why do you remember Michael Edwardes and Speke-were you involved in some way? I don`t think that the British Motor Industry ever went right myself. It was a collection of motor manufacturers, none of which could make or sell enough of their product in the home market and reluctant to pursue overseas markets. Japan, South Korea and West Germany all built their motor industries from top down and followed process in a structured and regimental manner. Our successes were copied and improved by overseas Companies who could produce them better, quicker and cheaper. Just my view.
  17. Good to have you back in from the Wilderness Tim. There continues to be one Marque that is significantly more reliable than a VW, tell all of your friends.
  18. A "boy" indeed Mike, but you are most welcome to join this or any other Thread that interests you. Where are you Beaming in from Scotty and when are you going to buy your Lexus ?
  19. Welcome Pedant from wherever you is. Are you really senior enough to join this juvenile conversation ? 🤣🤣
  20. You are not still in Gotham City are you Commissioner ?
  21. Quite right Herbie. My mistake. And I could have told you all of the names of all of the Original M7.My increasing senility. JG was the first American to orbit the Planet. The Russians did it in one !
