Highest Mileage in the UK
royoftherovers replied to Kermitpwee's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
That`s good to read Jason. One quarter of a million coming up soon and you will have passed the Moon on the way! -
Vere, can you enlighten us a bit more pleased ? What did you ask them to do and what did they do? Attitude to you as a Customer? Look forward to hearing from you . Thanks and regards.

All true and I don`t disagree Colin. This latest move however has not been communicated properly within or without Toyota/Lexus. It is seen by many as disingenuous. It has undoubtedly upset and offended some owners and will manifest itself in my view by more owners seeking alternatives to Lexus/Toyota vehicles, seeking more Indies for advice and servicing, seeking more people capable of maintaining Hybrid Batteries and lower Customer Satisfaction Ratings being given when completing Surveys. I do hope that Lexus U.K. drops in occasionally to read some or all of the views being aired on this Forum. It would be really nice if they did and perhaps they might explain the Lexus Rationale for its actions ?

Ask Toyota to service your CT and Lexus to do the Annual HB check ?

Lexus Relax (10 year/100,000 mile warranty)
royoftherovers replied to Mincey's topic in Lexus General Discussions
You must read the Forum more widely Casa. You current 2 for 2 warranty remains in force until its completion and you must continue to use Lexus for your servicing. I have kept mine in force as it is superior to the new RELAX warranty. -
Lexus Relax (10 year/100,000 mile warranty)

Mark Lexus down in any future Survey ? -
Before you started reporting Shahpor on your Gen 4 GS, I`d have said that Lexus and Warranty work was a huge contradiction in terms. There is no other Member I can think of that has needed to have so much warranty work performed on his/her car.😒 I cannot imagine that Lexus has had such reports on other vehicles covered by the Lexus Extended Warranty, but of course one does not know.

Isn`t that for John to know and for you lot to find out Lenny ?🤣🤣

Prima Facie it looks outstandingly good Phil. Disingenuous it most certainly is as I have said previously. Just watch Lexus slipping down the Customer Service Ratings. Only Katie Price thinks that all publicity is good publicity.😊😊

Got any Green Shield Stamps left Phil?😊

If this turns out to be a possibility, then find a large quiet space and reverse at speed, then apply brakes. This might just release any trapped stones.

I guess if enough people are dissatisfied with the handling of this matter by Toyota/Lexus and we all wrote to the Motoring Press, they would have a wonderful headline "Lexus falls out with its Customers !"

Nadeem, I think that you are right to be cynical. Advancing years with less income and greater experience induces cynicism. Our friend Herbie, who is well respected by all, has for years argued that the only thing different about Lexus is it Hybrid Drive. And so he has his Lexus serviced annually by his local and trusted garage. Worked well for him for years. Problems with Hybrid Batteries on cars that have been respected by their owners are few and far between. We have a member--Richard of Hybrid Battery Solutions based around Northampton is on hand to offer advice and repair or replace a Hybrid Battery at a reasonably economic cost. The new Lexus Relax system is useful for years 4-10 of new cars and up to 100,000 miles. In return for an annual service at Lexus prices including a Hybrid Battery check one can receive a free warranty for 12 months and (I think) 10,000 miles. The cost of the service can be budgeted for if you buy a Service Plan and this will avoid the high costs associated with the big services of 60,000 and 100,000 miles. The costs have thus far been interest free. The big unknown going forward is how is the new Relax Warranty going to be interpreted by Lexus? The small print in the new deal refers to cover against manufacturing defects. I think that manufacturing must relate to the part that has failed rather than the original build of the vehicle. And if a suspension damper fails after 60,000 miles, how will this be interpreted-by reference to design life or wear and tear or some other criteria? I think the options going forward are; (a) Keep any Extended Warranty until it expires or, (b) Move to the Relax Warranty, take out a Service Plan and monitor the way the Warranty is applied. This will ensure that the Hybrid Battery Warranty is maintained free of charge for 12 years after expiry of the original manufacturers warranty, or (c) Move to having your Lexus maintained by a trusted Independent Mechanic, who will have a lower hourly rate, but who cannot service the Hybrid Battery. This will have to be serviced by Lexus or perhaps by Richard of Hybrid Battery Solutions or not serviced at all. I`m fortunate in that my current Lexus Extended Warranty runs until September 2023, so I don`t have any big decisions to make. If I was forced to choose (b) or (c) I would in the short term choose (b). One pays one`s money and makes one`s choice Nadeem. I am not in any way connected to Hybrid Battery Solutions and have never met nor spoken to Richard. There other members who have however used his services. I hope this helps you Nadeem.
