  1. The original Honest John, used to advocate the use of Premium fuel at all times and recommended Shell V Power. He said that the additional cost was more than offset by the lower fuel consumption and he produced calculations to support his view. He stated that the occasional use of a Premium fuel did not result in better fuel consumption figures.

  3. There is much useful information for the O.P.to incorporate into his polite email. It make a compelling case for the Dealer Principal to consider.
  4. In the absence of incontrovertible evidence you will have to putt his down to experience I`m afraid Viet. Avoid using the Dealer again and mention the incident to your friends. Do not accuse the Dealer of anything other than being less than sympathetic to your claim. A polite but strongly worded email to the Dealer Principal setting out the facts ( and copied to Head of Customer Service at Lexus.U.K.), might just produce results, but don`t bank on it. Take a photo of the odometer reading next time.

  7. The Dash is coming up for 12 years old, so if a professional can produce an acceptable repair, then I would say that was acceptable Fenn. Please do keep us updated on what happens.

True Peter, but there is a dearth of evidence that Lexus has made any real attempt to inform those of its employees who might reasonably be asked for a summary of the differences and their effects. Salespeople that customers might reasonably be expected to provide an informed opinion appear to be clueless.
  9. Tis not Rocket Science old pal, but it does require something which on occasions is much more exacting, namely the application of common sense. Some have it and some don`t, some will and some won`t. Some just join a website and expect it to provide all of the answers 80% of which are contained within the Owners Hxxxbxxk! Salespeople, Receptionists, Mechanics, nor Technicians do not speak for Lexus. Neither does L.O.C. as you rightly pointed out. Colin Barber, Steve 2006, et al, do their very best in offering advice and guidance which on occasions is perceived as being from within the Lexus Domain, but it aint. Lexus U.K. speaks for Lexus and it has an official Website. Tis wise to read it and if in doubt refer to Lexus U.K. Head Office. Lexus U.K. could have done much more to educate and train key people at each Lexus Franchise, this at least might have ensured a consistency in the delivery of a standard and scripted message.
