  1. Morning Maurice and thank you for your contribution. Rest assured that I am more than well aware of what you have said. The O.P. has intimated that he wants/needs transport and I have advised him to meet with the Dealer Principal to explain his position. If that does not prove fruitful,I advised him to seek professional advice. An initial meeting might be available without incurring cost. I do attempt to address such facts as are made available by an O.P. and not interpret a question.
  2. Piers, My initial response was to receive money back and put the episode down to experience. The O.P.said that was not what he wanted So, I reacted to that. There are huge POTENTIAL implications for the Dealer, its Statutory Responsibilities and its Franchise relationship with Lexus U.K. on the basis of what the O.P. has told us.
  3. The implications are huge for the Dealership and for Lexus UK.. If receiving the money back is not going to help you, then meet with the top guy at the Dealership(often called the Dealer Principal) and remind him that he has a Statutory Responsibility to repair the vehicle as circumstances are such that you are unable to simply receive your money back. Tell him that you want him to repair the vehicle at his cost and that you expect him to provide you with a loan car at no cost to you. Keep a written record of all meetings with the Dealership and of correspondence conducted. If he will not play ball, then ask a Solicitor to offer you further advice. Good luck.
  4. 10 months on now Davey. DID YOU DO IT OR NOT ?
  5. Has the vehicle been bought from an official Lexus Dealer ? Rgardless of the answer (which I feel is still extremely important) I am of the view that the Member-Peter, should take his money back, as he is entitled to do and put the whole unfortunate exercise behind him immediately. The questions surrounding a possibly sad outcome for the Lexus Dealership, involving many aspects of this case, are for the future and for other Organisations to consider.
  6. Our 3 are still effective after 3years. Best not to manhandle them.Be sympathetic with them.Remember one`s first girlfriend.👍
  7. Beauty does indeed lie in the eyes of the beholder.👍
  8. Possibly an IS200 Vlad ? Welcome Peter, do enjoy the Forum and please feel free to contribute.
  9. Thanks Matt. Enjoy the NX. Must have been quite a disappointment leaving Audi after 4 consecutives ?
  10. Hello Linas old Buddy. If a Dealer wants your business, he will offer to collect your collect and return your vehicle. The Dealer in Bolton offered to collect and deliver my GS A total of 58 miles round trip. The distance from Liverpool to CONWAY and return is 110 miles. Some Dealers will and some will not. If one does not ask, then one will not receive.
  11. You made the right decision there Shafiq. Put it down to experience and look closely at Members cars for sale on this Forum.
  12. Tell him to join one or both of the 2 UK,MB Owners Forums. He`ll get lots of advice from people who have been similarly shafted.
  13. Avoid MB like the Plague.
  14. I take it that the F is not short for an expletive Colin.🤣🤣
  15. Why not ask them to come and collect your car for Service and return it to you free of charge ? Plenty of Lexus Dealers do that in England Marcus. eg Liverpool to Conway and return.
  16. Michael, Why is time of the essence? Why can`t you just wait for it to be delivered ? Most Motor Manufacturers are in the same predicament in the World of today. Do you expect to receive compensation from Lexus caused by factors which are beyond its control ?
  17. And now they will probably dispose of the love of my life (Martine) for doing something which is just the opposite of those dreary so called stars who read the news with as much depression as it possible to imagine. The view of the BBC as regards impartiality means not supporting the Government of the day for fear of upsetting anyone. !!
  18. It is the going rate if someone will pay it Andrew. Do you think that is an original colour--Malc will probably know ? Check the M.O.T History I find it strange that there is a dearth of interior pictures. Good luck and please do let us all know how you get on.
  19. Ecky Thump, that was a good read Len. Had the Director however, inserted the word "all" between "saving" and "lives" I would not have had to ask the question.
  20. "My other half says i'm obsessed, she may have a point!" Obsession with a Lexus is almost a Statutory condition of ownership Bob. In essence it means that we are all married to the same kind of caring girl.🤣👍 Welcome to the Club by the way.
  21. Nothing will happen John except an occasional engine fire up and shut down as the C.P.U monitors the need to recharge the H.B. The problem arises when new owners don`t bother to read the Owners Handbook and then complain that the Toyota/Lexus Hybrid System is rubbish as the battery in their previous Audi/BMW/Merc etc never went flat when they listened to Radio etc in their car.
  22. You are now enrolled as one too, Ant.
  23. That is a very good idea Philip. The Dealer my have only given you one month but he remains responsible at Law for ANY significant problem which arises within 6 months of your purchase. Please let us all know how you get on.
  24. Peter, If you`ve become quite attached, why leave ? Stay with us as I`ve has 3 C CLASS AND JUST KNOW YOU WILL BE BACK!
  25. Professional Electricians,NEVER assume anything Sir !
