Hello Brian.......sorry, but you forgot the Torque Wrench and possibly the need to buy a Hydraulic Jack depending whether or not there are jacking points on the car😉 The manufacturer was forced under pain of a huge financial penalty by the E.U. to reduce the average CO2 output of his vehicles and this he did by amongst other things, eliminating the weight of carrying a spare wheel. T`was us the motorist which paid hugely.
  5. Graham, to the best of my knowledge and belief, Lexus U.K. has not made any such claim. Anecdotally, these people have; the Lexus Salesman the Receptionist the man on the Service desk, etc. Nemesis is quite right to mention T&C always appearing in formal Lexus announcements re Relax. None of us will know how good the new warranty is until we have had experience of it. We (those of us who currently participate in the current Lexus Extended Warranty Scheme), do know that Relax is not as good. The proof of the pudding is in the eating and we shall just have to taste the Relax warranty and see. There is no evidence that Lexus U.K. has claimed that Relax is anything other than a benefit available to certain Lexus owners for a certain period of time and miles and is free of charge.
  6. What the definition of multi media system is made clear by looking at same on the Lexus.co.uk. website. Fear not tho` because the initial 3 year warranty provided by Lexus will cover the system for 3 years and U.K. Statute provides effectively a further 3 years warranty under Sale of Goods Act and all subsequent amending legislation. So, if owners are bold enough to confront the Seller of the vehicle (say, the Lexus Dealership) and threaten/remind them of their responsibilities, they should be successful. A threat of having the multi media system repaired elsewhere and the Dealer being presented with the cost of repair and pursued thru` the Small Claims track of the County Court, should they not reimburse the owner, may produce startling results. I fear however that today`s young owners may change their Lexus vehicles after 3years and not suffer any problem throughout that period. It is the second and subsequent owners who may face difficulties altho` help is on hand as they can fall back on the current 6 month Statutory Warranty for assistance.
  7. That really is appalling service Trefor. Was it a Lexus garage? Whichever it was, you should not have to replace them as the garage has not done its job properly.

  13. Welcome dublet and thank you for a wonderful and informative first post. The car looks great and you are rightly proud of it. Always ignore criticisms of Lexus unless it is from a Lexus owner. The Media does not know what it is talking about. I like your L shape idea and it reminded me of the first series of Startrek! Anyway, enjoy the Forum and do participate freely.
