Reads to me like you are what I call a sensible driver John. In my youth and ever since I was told and have continued tell myself that a speed of around 56-60 mph was/is the most economical speed at which to travel. Incidentally I too was in those parts of the UK earlier this year. I`ll be off to Dumfries and Galloway and to Cromarty next year.

Thanks John. Average mph ? Did you go to Oradour sur Glane? I have recently returned from Andalucia in the Merc diesel Estate auto. Your fuel consumption is outstanding and I would expect the mph figure to be 3845. I once came from Limoges to Wirral on a single full tank....750 miles. I agree with the comments in your final para.

That is exceptionally good mpg John. How far down did you go ? Did you use the Toll Roads and what was your average mph ?

The Jazz is an exceptionally good car and I`ve been keeping an eye on the new HRV too. Margaret likes the Digital Speedo reading. I have decided to keep my GS. 11 years old and 62,000 miles. It is everything that your GS has been to you and I can now continue to purchase a comprehensive warranty until 2025 when I shall be in my eightieth year and quite probably thinking of giving up driving. I deal with Lexus Chester. I have noticed that there has been a change in structure and that Tom Skelton has been elevated to a senior position within the Service function. This has led to many Service questions being fielded by inexperienced staff which I hope in time will resolve itself, but in the interim may lead to dissatisfaction amongst customers. I do hope that this is short-lived. I concur with Brian and Philip above but would advise Christian to get off his Social Media backside and confront Lexus UK soonest and then tell us all what he has been told. 😉
