  1. at 19k albeit 7 years old now it must be mint. Imo you'd be mad not to follow the Lexus service schedule. Why cut corners? Each to their own but they are tough to sell on. Yours being so low mileage would be a 'good find' for a buyer but as I said above id walk away if you skipped a major part of the service. ***** I walked away from one in Gillingham because it had a front respray even though it was done to a high standard.
  2. would we recommend the six year and not new plugs? For a few hundred quid do you realm want to risk a failure that ruins the engine? Its a high performance car and imo needs to be maintained as such. also selling it to someone like me would be hard if the car services has been done to a lower spec than they should. If you skimp on a service what else have you cut corners on? not trying to be argumentative, just my view
  3. that sounds wonderful. Having done csrlimits and palmersports they are very different. Not least the former is your car. You'll be a safer driver after carlimits. You'll have more fun at Bedford. And wont need new tyres afterwards!
  4. I bet anyone who details for a living is a bit ocd. Before being a dad I used to spend hours cleaning my cars. Now I rush it in twenty mins and try not to think about the microswirls...
  5. uno turbo. Bet that's a different experience to the rest of your choices. welcome.
  6. and make sure they need changing... Sir, 75% worn. Well that's 25% left then, bye. (for example).
  7. nothing unusual in main dealers charging alot. Got to fund the show room somehow. If you paid sixty k for your F you'd probably just use the main dealer. Those of us who only paid twenty k are more inclined to be price aware as well as knowing it wont make a jot of difference on resale.
  8. I assumed it was the same but you've made me think... Best get it booked in
  9. might need some pads myself this year. Great work. Thanks.
  10. hey at least it was on tv. No mention of the lotus exige s or new evora 400 despite the former winning evo car of the year a while back.
  11. trouble is the public perception of the rcf is going to be influenced by tg. It is heavy but its also natural aspirated and rare. In a few years wed all have one! I don't want an m3 or m4 because they are ubiquitous and I wanted something left field. That's why the isf works for me. Rcf too if I had that kind of cash. I'd also have a gtr and indeed probably will one day.
  12. Keep an eye on the next service as for example the 60k is really expensive. As are brakes and tyres. Check front inside Tyre tread depth as its easy to miss that they are very worn. Wonderful car. Get one. Enjoy.
  13. there isn't a huge amount of choice but as always you pay your money... The older ones aren't depreciating much these days and that makes them attractive. The newer ones will have less owners and should be in better nick. Lexus still offer me a warranty on a six year old car btw, which I didn't take up as I'm "happy" to take the risk but beware the older warranty excludes the ice. oh and the acc is a bit first generation and binary on the brakes and throttle. Annoys me. So I just use the standard cruise which is tricky to find unless you know to push the stick away for a few seconds. The acc goes up in 5mph jumps too so you can't select 82 which my TomTom tells me is 77. Just south of speed camera settings hopefully.
  14. are they also ceramic rather than metal? I need to get mine done as I've made a real mess of them.
  15. oooh nice. Although I'm not so sure about the de badged grill. No offence intended but is says max power Vauxhall calibra to me for some reason. Can someone tweat me or something if you meet at blue water coz I can walk their in ten minutes let alone drive! (my wheels are scuffed to hell though so I apologize in advance for that) @lotusdave
  16. I've only ever been offered the smallest run about as a loaner. Fiat 500, fiesta that sort of thing. Guess they have to factor in the cost. Indeed my old Aygo was an ex Lexus loan car. wonder what rolls Royce or McLaren give you?
  17. started mine up for first time this year the other day as I've been away. that noise. lovely.
  18. I pay 15 at lotus to waive the policy xs which is I think a grand. Had to do same at Volvo recently for a test drive, which is the same main stealer in Maidstone.
  19. that would be a shame if true. M3,and m4 haven't been getting great reviews either.
  20. who's on winters? I am and they've been fine but as I've been away last two weeks I haven't really been out in cold weather...
  21. you must be near sevenoaks? There's a couple of us near Greenhithe. In this weather I'm not going to offer to show off my skills drifting but ill take you round the block if you want a ride...
  22. I'd say drive the e diff and the mechanical diff and see what you think. As a supercharged Elise owner too I've driven plenty of tracks with the open diff on the lotus without trouble. I've not tracked the Lexus yet but with the front engine and torque characteristics it'll be a different story. However on fast road use the e diff has been great. I do wonder if it eats the rear pads but hey ho. Fast cars driven fast aren't cheap to run.
  23. if I'm reading that document correctly you did have a lot of toe on the set up so inner wear isn't a huge surprise...
  24. the sidcup dealer told me, with a suitably technical answer, to expect inner edge wear due to the set up. I couldn't be bothered to argue but intend to get a full geo at the service which is just after my summer tyres go back on. The old summer tyres were also destroyed on the inner edge...
  25. can't recommend shineonedetail.com highly enough. Well known in the lotus community and if you mention the recommendation came via a seloc (south east lotus owners club) you'll get a discount. He's done my Elise and it looked amazing.
