  1. thank you! I will have a look but that seems the logical answer...
  2. oddly since my recent service the button to open the boot won't work, the one to the right of the reversing camera, neither does the button by the fuel filler release or the one on the key fob! it's like its in valet parking mode. any ideas? the key works in the lock, which I had never noticed before!
  3. that's fabulous. You know your way around don't you? Good work.
  4. Jesus are they 400 a pair. I'd better give mine a tug to see if it's just the dirt holding them on! If I lost one id simply have to get a new exhaust as it's actually a bit embarrassing to have two fake tips on a 5.0 v8.
  5. you pays ya money... Resale value is a tough one. In theory they hold their value but in practice so few people buy one it's hard to know for sure. Don't buy it for the resale value, buy it for the noise and the fact you'll rarely see another. I'm having mine px valued tomorrow with my SC for an evora 400, and I reckon the dealer will offer 14k. Don't worry, I'm not selling as the only 400 id want is a roadster which they don't even make yet! Just passing the lotus dealer so have asked for some figures. (2008, 70k miles, 5 owners, flsh, okay condition). In fact just had 8 yeah MINOR service at Sidcup which cost 600! Inc mot and air con gas. ouch.
  6. be careful of "cheap" insurance. I'd be checking the wording of cover called "essential" carefully. as with most things in life you pay for what you get. These are not cheap cars, don't insure them as cheap cars. sure, a competitive premium but beware of cheap! 44yr old, this was my third car so slowly building ncb which is now 3 years, 10kpa with business living in a Dartford postocde, £400 or so
  7. I don't get this at all. I've driven mine very hard on track too. Are you changing down too early? That old adage lf the brakes slow you down, the engines speeds you up. If you're down shifting too early and thus too many revs you might lock the rear wheels. or maybe your car isn't shifting all that well. I've got some track footage somewhere, posted on here too. I love heal and toe in the Elise and when you get it right its a great feeling.
  8. very nice. Not really a direct replacement style or space wise, but the engine is glorious so enjoy it.
  9. interesting. Before all this started, esp the stolen thread, I was looking at my insurance renewal and thought mine (2008, 70+k miles and in average condition as i tend to keep the lotus pristine and the Lexus is a work horse, albeit a lovely one) was worth 15k. Oh, no lexus warranty.
  10. there's a silver, 87000 miles 2008my on auto trader for 14500 which seems cheap. Thread drift, and it may have been discusses before, but i wonder why? Or are we kidding ourselves re the value?
  11. ahh. Soz, it was the white one that was stolen. Must be a bit brain dead, my apologies.
  12. So, with 205ish registered isf in the UK, does anyone know how many are white? There are three white ones in auto trader but not similar age and mileage. The 17500 one has done 120,000 miles. it'll surface again soon, possibly via a px and thus in the second hand network. in the meantime how's the op doing in finding themselves an isf?
  13. sorry, my fault as I started it. Sarcasm doesn't work on the internet. but yes the point was I don't think I'm a brain dead geek because I read a forum. A petrol head sure. BDG? no.
  14. well we've done mileage and other "who owns an isf" stuff, so why not compare gcse results whist we await more news on the curious case of the cheap isf with an overly sensitive owner who has a friend who hangs around on this very forum.
  15. do it! The noise, whilst different to the type r, is awesome!
  16. devils advocate. It's an eight year old car. It will need some things replacing. Be glad it isn't something more serious or just leave it and keep an eye on the level. lastly go to an Indi as they will be cheaper....
  17. is the reg number in the thread somewhere? What a plonket
  18. that's the game, they offer low and you have to prove otherwise. These are hard cars to value because they are pretty rare. Mine is same age and slightly higher mileage and I wouldn't sell it for what they are offering! so sorry to hear they nicked it. How come it was spotted and lost again? Is that when they give it 24 hours to see if it's tracked and then if it's not been recovered, it's moved on? we leave our car keys easily found in the kitchen. If they are in the kitchen they can have them... Don't want to see them. Good luck getting the lotus out though as you need to be a slippery eel to get in the door the way its parked in the garage! oh, try an evora s. Better than your think....
  19. as has already been said, most of us who have an isf started on here. Totally normal to ask about it. For example, if I saw the black one I walked away from after spending 500 on an rac inspection which found accident damage, then I would say so. If was repaired to a high quality, but not by lexus (not on their records) so I looked elsewhere.I have a degree, run my own business and own two cars with sub 4.5s 0-60. If that makes me brain dead then so be it. It makes the seller a bell end, should he be interested in my opinion
  20. 44, pension guru. wanted a rare but fast comfortable car. Isf been fab choice

  22. 2008 69,000. Was 43.000 three years ago when I got it. No point having it unless its used!
  23. on the warranty I got mine from a trader, not lexus dealer, and it had lexus extended warranty. Lexus refused to transfer warranty to me citing car wasnt sold cia their dealer. I didn't need to claim in it so didn't argue and its since expired. But id have gone to ombudsman if id needed too as that is sharp practice after all they had the premium and didn't offer me or orevious owner a refund. not sure if still the case but beware one of the Lexus warranty doesn't include the ICE which is expensive if broken. my isf is now 75k up from44k when I purchased it three years ago. fab car.
