  1. there's a similar one of auto trader at th moment, might be worth a look too. My main advice is know your max price, say 18500 which is ten+ percent off sticker price. Do the dance, offer and then walk away when they say no, which they will. I had to wait a few days but the dealer called me back and accepted the offer. There are not many folks buying isfs so they wont want to lose the sale. They do this for a living and will be very very good at persuading you to spend more. Do not be sucked in to the moment. Tax ain't cheap on these things either!
  2. north south divide maybe? Sidcup especially being more or less in London. somewhere else on here i read Canterbury dont regularly service any other isf, but Sidcup do. Might have made that up. Not looking forward to the sixty grand one!
  3. is it possible you have a duff tyre? Or if the geo was set on old tyres then it might be out on the new ones, esp if the old ones didn't wear evenly. If the inside was say 2mm and the outside 6mm (easily done on big tyres if the toe is out a bit), and new tyres are even across the tread, this could be it. this kind of thing sucks time out of the day doesn't it...
  4. is replacing the castors a big job? And what's a castor?! (i just drive the darn thing...)
  5. these the guys yeah? http://www.wheels-inmotion.co.uk/wheels-alignment.php. If so then, and sorry to repeat myself to a certain extent, then surely they can tell if something is bent, broken or incorrectly set up. I just dont understand how a professional geo team (and they sound like they know their stuff) cant diagnose the problem.... I'm no rac car mechanic or driving god but for the car to pull left, one of the four wheels has to be doing something it shouldn't be.
  6. wonder if the dealer can cross check the geo? On a less depressing note, why an isf? Great cars aren't they. (at least they are when they drive straight)
  7. bugger. How have Lexus been so far? Have you had to pay for the investigation so far? The wheel alignment checks, or geo as we call them, on my lotus are two hundred quid a pop. An isf must be the same..
  8. are you still under warranty? As i say, good luck.
  9. sorry, no, mines straight and true. Keep us posted with information though. Do you have an isf? I ask as your photo isn't an isf. Is there anyone in the wider is (non f) forum with the problem? Lots more of those about so more likely to have someone with the same. It must be very annoying not least of which on new tyres as i dare say its not doing them much good and to burn through a set coz of uneven wear is an expensive pastime. Good luck..
  10. btw. My lotus, owned from new will remain main dealer serviced to aid the ease to sell it in due course. The isf probably will too, Sidcup being my local(ish).
  11. i think warranty is no longer allowed to demand main dealer work, but the Indy must document what they did. id be a little nervous about something without a good service history and MY preference would be main dealer. A non main dealer simply gives you something to barter with! If its missed a service by a while id be careful. That tends to indicate it wasn't cherished. There will be one along soon enough that was cherished...
  12. i paid a little less than that one is stickered for, but in fourth owner and it had done a few more miles. But Lexus warranty still in force, refurbed wheels (which I've since kerbed, darn it) and a tracker (which i haven't subscribed to). Oh and the sunroof, not sure if this has that or not. So as i say price looks ok but they expect you to haggle. As documented on 'my' thread over the summer, i gave a price and they declined. I walked and shut up. Within a week the dealer principle called me and accepted my original offer. turnover of these cars is low due to nature, so be prepared to barter. Besides, its fun!
  13. but by definition of it not driving straight something is out. Next id check tyre depths as if they are unevenly worn that could do it. Swap left to right temporarily and see if that changes anything. Good luck finding out.
  14. doubt pulling is tyre pressure, more likely tracking even if its been checked. Who checked it? Also, road camber makes car wonder so i assume it pulls on motorway too, which is generally flat. id get tracking checked as something must still be out...
  15. my 58 plate has different buttons around the sat nav screen, flat rather than raised in the middle (compared to grey one). Someone with more knowledge than me may be able to explain..) otherwise age mileage and cost look ok. Well cost bit high but theyll no doubt come down a little...
  16. As for the beep, in manual mode you might hear it if you are really trying, but you don't need to do that given the torque and power. What you will adore is the noise when that second port opens...
  17. post a link to any car you are considering as we may know it. For example i walked away from a black one earlier this year due to accident damage, picked up by a full rac inspection. My 08 has, well had, 44k miles and is very tidy other than more stone chips on the bonnet than ideal, still under Lexus (extended) warranty. Paid just over 20k from targaflorio cars on the south coast. Very happy with it, although I'm still gutted keith-w found one with, i think, 18000 miles on an 08 plate!
  18. on th topic of driving style. Just had a late night run to a hotel and on the way threw it into a tight roundabout at i guess 25mph. Its 6' here but dry roads. After a bit of understeer from the weight of the engine (i guess) as i squeezed the throttle i had a lovely balance and then a hint of oversteer. as i had all the safety nets fully on i got beeped at before anything else happened. good fun, and a safe enough speed on a late night empty road to fund how it reacts. by way of comparison i think the Elise wouldn't understeer initially but the transition to oversteer is a knife edge and there are no stability systems to sort it out and beep to tell you off. Id have had to have been quick if the Elise back had stepped out that's for sure.
  19. had the abs trigger today when i was playing on some roads i know well. Deliberate really to know how the car feels on the limit / emergency stop. Still cant say i hear any unusual brake noises, but they sure work well for a heavy car.
  20. four hundred sounds ok, a grand sounds like a nice weekend away! Must work out when mine expires...
  21. silver, late 08 and 45k. of the older cars, who has Lexus warranty. Mine does but not sure ill extend it...
  22. Lol even more at the 'bust business', which I hope isn't true! BUSY!!!! doh
  23. Just a few weeks, it lived in Poole and Cardiff by looks of service history. Picked it up from a garage on the south coast. Very pleased with it so far - if you've not seen the thread of my tracking one down I've a supercharged lotus Elise in the garage but wanted something a little more practical as I'm doing more miles now. And the ISF ticks all the boxes, especially the one marked 'dual carriageway off a roundabout, let's hear some NOISE!'. I'm partly using the Lexus sat navy and partly my tom tom which has cameras and dings at me when I'm speeding which is all too easy in these things. i'll probably get a roadangel fitted when I get round to it but I don't get much time these days with a bust business and a toddler at home. Elise hasn't been out of the garage since I got the ISF but I've just booked two track days in it, early December and late January. I suspect i'll have forgotten just how good a car the Elise is, which will give me two fabulous if rather different cars.
  24. how do i tell? I've wondered if a new one would have full postcode entry but i think i asked before and the answer was no.
