  1. i get a lot less grief from wanna be racers in the f than the elise which in a way i miss as frankly very little can live with either. as for the rain with our big fat tyres just make sure you've got a good amount of tread and be careful of standing water and the loud pedal. on the plus side i hope to find a big enough space to try a drift or two sometime soon. Wet and greasy roads have some advantages... As for meeting up, under the roof at Bluewater might be fun! #v8rumble
  2. to the chap in higham, I'm in greenhithe. Hope to see or even better hear you around sometime!
  3. are you paying the dealer for the investigation? And have they provided a suitably interesting loaner? Fingers crossed...
  4. Fair point but engine oil is such a critical thing. Thrash it. Go for it, they were designed to be driven but what sort of person buys an isf and doesn't service it? you pays ya money but that would worry me a little.
  5. isn't this a better option than the one without the right service history?
  6. why wasn't it serviced? No one one this forum can tell if the lack of a service has caused long term damage but it wont have been good for it. Would you buy a Ferrari if it had same? if owner didn't service, what else didn't they do? one thing is certain, drive a bargain because of it. plenty more fish in the sea, so dont rush into it.
  7. obviously the bonnet, but are any other panels made only for the isf? Front wings look wider but could be a trick of the eye for example. I guess the doors are all standard as bespoke would be very expensive...
  8. price is all relative. How much is a Lexus one? chances are an aftermarket one will be lighter which will improve handling, braking, acceleration and mpg as well as more noise. Id be tempted as before i read this thread i just said id consider the exhaust on another thread. but i dont want to sound like a boy racer in Southend (no offence to anyone intended!)
  9. depends... At the moment its fine but as and when things wear out i may upgrade. I think an exhaust would be high on my list as it would be nice to hear the v8 a little more, but id be careful about ruining the quiet and refined cruising nature of the car. Id upgrade the sat nav and ice too, streaming Bluetooth would be nice and the sat nav is showing its age.
  10. excellent. A one lady owner car costing what did from new would normally have full dealer history so hopefully the gap will fill and you'll get a lovely car!
  11. whilst there aren't many for sale at any time, there is a steady turn over of them. Be patient, you don't have to buy this car. having said that there could be a good explanation, so go along but keep your wits about you. .
  12. I've never tried. I'm not sure there is a button on the fob to remote start, so i would say not. Easy enough to jump in, press start, jump out as long as you take fob the car should be secure. personally i wouldn't as whilst engine is warm the gearbox will be cold and the fuel consumption would be horrific. Just jump in and man up for ten mins before it warms up. Heated seats take, what, two mins?
  13. that gap coincides with banking crisis, so maybe owner ran out of money to run it properly. Dunno, oil change is so important id just be very careful...
  14. it did 15000 miles between services over a three year period. That conflicts with website that says its been done in accordance with schedule. id be wary about buying a performance car with a hole in the schedule. but if you can get a good deal then that's up to you. check papers, maybe it was serviced. Never trust a garage re paperwork i paid only a fraction more than that for 45k miles, full Lexus history AND still in warranty. so Imo 20k is too much, esp re above.
  15. id agree about the old tyres being worn badly. But with new tyres and the geo now reset, it is odd this hasn't solved the problem. Hope Lexus gb can shed some light...
  16. my windows mobile Nokia 920 connects fine via Bluetooth, as it should. But when playing Spotify via the 3.5m jack, it all goes to the dogs when the phone rings. The phone is expecting a microphone on the headphone socket and not via Bluetooth. annoying but technology moves so quickly and the car is 5 years old. My ipod is way out of date thanks to Spotify so the glovebox dodah wont help. a rented citroen c4 would happily stream Spotify via Bluetooth and thus coped admirably with calls and texts too, as the phone read them out and i just said my reply. tech moves so fast...
  17. stay positive, hope they find a solution soon. What gets me is how it was fine, sat still and now isn't. If the only thing that change, the tyres, have been excluded from the cause it only leaves one option. Aliens.
  18. six hundred here, business use but no bonus as this was an additional car and my bonus is on the lotus. Hopefully will reduce as the years go by... Oh, privilege.
  19. You keep them clean dont ya! Good stuff. I WILL upload some soon!
  20. no replies? Come on folks... Cant upload from my phone but will try again from lappie tomorrow
  21. aren't c63 brake discs something crazy like a grand a set at the front? As the used prices drop more people can afford to buy, but maybe not run it properly. Those of us who keep to main stealer services, on time, then hopefully our cars will retain their value and be saleable. busy day on the forum today, almost like all 200 owners have been on here!
  22. i was very enthusiastic when buying mine, i wanted an isf and the one i was looking at seemed ideal. But i just made sure that he knew i was not a time waster, i didn't even drive it), but i also made it clear it was business, and there are always more cars available, even rare ones like these. when we agreed the price it was subject to a drive... Good luck. Its one hell of a car for the money. I'm out in mine tomorrow and weather permitting hope to hear that induction roar!
