  1. have fun in the jag. That's really bad luck on the repairs. As for 125, good effort. If you'd added another fifty they would never have caught you!
  2. generally speaking folks, what has gone wrong on our isfs? After 6000 miles all I've found is terrible geo which ruined the front tyres. Passed mot recently but hasn't yet been in for service. anyone else had an oil leak or any other issues?
  3. 27 total and a ridiculous 29 last tank. Reflecting all I've done since reset is sit at 78 (indicated on non radar cruise, 75 on Tom Tom) on the motorway network of our wonderful country.
  4. to my eye the ones at the top look like they'd struggle to survive long on our pot holed roads. The ones on the blue car look fab but agree about hard to keep clean. I kerbed mine again yesterday, no reason other than being a spanner. Six years in the lotus, never curbed it. 6 months in the Lexus and its like I've forgotten how to drive!
  5. glen. New baby and money. I've a three year old and he isn't getting any cheaper yet!
  6. re the wheels I've made a mess of mine which were immaculate when I got it. I've never kerbed a car so much in my life. Like the idea of a subtle colour change... And a wrap on the whole car maybe too!
  7. I've got protection on the Elise as the paint is very easy to chip. Works a treat but the car has natural panel breaks so you can't see it unless you know where to look. Isf bonnet is BIG so I think itd look pants. A re spray every now and again is just part of the running costs maybe? I've not bothered as silver doesn't show them too much and I didn't want the blending on the other panels...
  8. welcome. 31 is normal for a motorway schelp but in future please aim for high teens, otherwise you're not trying hard enough!
  9. when spring comes get down to the alps for a few alpine tunnels.... Exhausts always sound better in the mountains!
  10. im not sure about iconic, like delta integrale and escort cosworth, early,m3s etc. they all DID something in rally or races. I do however think itll be sought after for all the reasons we have one on our drive.
  11. 24 since I've owned it, 30 on a late night cruise from Kent to Yorkshire. About 15 on one tank when i did too much London driving! Got 12 from the Elise (215bhp) on track last weekend... Fun tho!
  12. down in the south during the day its in the region where winters and summers cross over. Just be aware they wont stop as well as summers so leave a bigger gap to the car in front if its sunny and dry roads. my winter shod lotus is really squirmy hard on the brakes in such conditions. Normally stops on a dime so its noricable...
  13. wasn't me btw! If it was a write off that's two since i joined the forum. Out of the 200 on the road!
  14. on kick down box on mine is ok, although once or twice its kicked down one more gear that i would have liked, then the tc kicks in. Less revs would have avoided that... If it does kick down enough you can force it via the accelerator; the microswitch at the end of the travel. But you knew that!
  15. perfectly normal in a lotus! My isf isn't fogged but needless to say the Elise always is, rain shine lights or no lights!
  16. id like to see what it looks like and as i live five mins from Bluewater keep me posted on a meet please. I don't want to ruin motorway nois but quite fancy it sounding more interesting from the outside...
  17. so all that hassle was a software issue? Blimey. great that you have it back though. can we ask, how much did it cost as i recall its out of warranty...
  18. Forgot to say earlier, welcome to the club. What an engine, even if the pcs is dodgy. Have a lot of fun, take care in this weather and upload some photos if you can...
  19. thirteen two? Outrageous but then again that's main dealer margins for you. i cant recall exactly although my "buying an isf" thread has the figures, but late twentys was buying a 2010 model with 20k miles earlier this year. mind you given this weather i need a boat not a v8...
  20. i have no idea to be honest as why would Lexus allow you to turn off a safety feature? Having said that anything is possible. Personally id be looking to get it fixed, not disabled. Youd feel a wally if you have an incident that could have been avoided. mines beeped at me twice, both false alarms caused by street furniture that did look like it was in the way, but wasn't really.
  21. a very unscientific look at the autotrader app tells me 58plate flsh cars are 25k at a main stealer, with 30k miles. Interesting.
  22. well i could bring our meriva if they want to drool over a 1.4 turbo...
