  1. (phone wont stop underline!) cant promise i wouldn't bring my Elise but how about this, 25 oct. http://www.msvtrackdays.com/car-home/event-details?productid=2445
  2. brands indy from late 2013... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LEaamKz5GaU&list=UUXbX-C6aRflzxo7heO9gw1A
  3. this is when driver training is useful. I suspect the isf needs a 'trail brake' into the corner to keep the front tucked in. Too much = understeer. this is esp true if you come off the brake and turn in, as the front got lighter as the brakes were released. Id need to get it on track to see. or, the Chris Harris way and stomp the throttle to use the back to get the front in. That may get very exciting very quickly!
  4. ps. love the instructors comments about a lovely car!
  5. Here's a bit of my lotus at Bedford in equally slippery conditions. What level of TC did you have on? i went sideways more that afternoon than any day since....
  6. lotus cars never need servicing! (i wish). I normally get a fiat 500....or pretend to want to buy an evora and take the demo.
  7. ive got boring silver. Really fancy a wrap to a deep blue. If i can find the energy and money to do it...
  8. excellent info. Do you mind if i say to woodford that i know someone on here who paid 650?
  9. 30% wear after 3,000 miles. Or ten k for a set, that doesn't sound right. Depends how its been driven of course but if previous owner was enthusiastic then that may explain noise maybe? dealers offer say more worn then reality in my experience, but i am a cinic about such things. Smile.
  10. ouch. That's what mine must be due as whilst im only on 52000, the last service was a 50000 mile one, done by Lexus poole for £236.
  11. maybe give it a few really hard stops, get some proper heat and wear going on. might help. Also always good to know what an emergency stop feels like...
  12. straight line, very slow so prob ten mph max. Am hoping it isn't gearbox related as sometimes its when it changes gear, but not always. Need to get a good look underneath and see if anything is loose. Doesn't make a noise when going fast. So ill just go fast . Oh, from drivers seat its rear middle...
  13. hello. Stupid question; 52,000 miles under the wheels and 2008 car. So six years old later this year. What service is due and whats the likely damage at Lexus sidcup? anyone had bad experience with them? lastly (excuse format, phone struggles with this site). I can hear a knocking noise at low speed. Seems like loose exhaust but i cant replicate it by trying to move the exhaust. could be suspension maybe. Are there any known rear end knocking noises? also tell me about the water pump issues please. Thanks so much...
  14. im doing brands gp in a couple of weeks as it happens, but in the lotus not this isf. The isf would be great fun but the weight would take its toll on the brakes and tyres. The Elise just laps it up, excuse the pun. I will most likely track the isf, probably Bedford autodrome as its got plenty of room for error and a long straight to really let it go. as for carlimits, do it, really good way to learn what the car does when you run out of ability. i must do it again soon...
  15. welcome. mine squeak a little but again are ok when warmed up... photos please!
  16. welcome. Lovely car. Of course best bet for cameras is paying attention when driving. I use a Tom Tom as its a better sat nav than my 08 version. I've also got a road angle which is great; get it wired in so you don't have to trail a wire to the 12v socket. Its a faff to keep unplugging stuff mind. having said all that whatever smart phone you have will have sat nav and cameras. whether they are as good as a paid for service I am not so sure. especially mobile units where Tom Tom and road angle update in real time based on other drivers pressing a button when they see a unit.
  17. the Vauxhall electronic handbrake... Just pull away. It releases automatically.... My worst car was a golf rental from avis Manchester. No doubt well made but darker than a hearse inside, rolled like a barge, no power and no connectivity. Same avis place a few weeks later gave me a c4. Modern inside, could stream Spotify from my phone via Bluetooth and was fun to drive too. No doubt broke down the next day mind...
  18. nothing so far aside from geo being out which is bound to be the state of the roads.
  19. it does look amazing. In my previous life before having a three year old, my lotus was treated to a clean at any excuse, all sorts of polishes and finishing cloths. oh for the time.... you mention a detailer, this guy comes highly recommended http://www.shineondetail.com/. Mention seloc, the lotus owners club and hell give you a discount. he did mine three years ago and I'll get him to do it again soon giving its used much less these days. not sure if the isf needs it as its a workhorse rather than my pride and joy. A 419bhp workhorse mind...

  21. postcode inout, or lack of it, was / is a gripe of mine but I just use a Tom Tom instead. Their traffic data is better (imo) and you get the gps speed and current speed limit read out, plus an alarm for cameras too, very useful on roads you don't know. I just accepted that this was a rare downside of a five year old car...
