  1. Ps. Test drive an evora S. It wont sound like an F but the suspension is amazing. So soft and comfortable but so taught when it matters. If the F rode like an evora then it'd have sold buckets I reckon. If only lotus had the money to actually design a new car....
  2. evora alternative option. I very nearly got one rather than the F. Ten grand more at the time for a used automatic (which I wanted for my motorway and traffic work). As a lotus owner it was an obvious choice . But even a lotus die hard would admit the rear seats are a joke. You wont get a car seat in and have room for the kids legs without them kicking the seat all the time. They wont be able to see much and the boot is laughable. despite all that if they'd been available for same price as F I'd have got one I'm sure. I was squeezed into an original BMW 635 back when i was a kid and loved every minute. Sod no room, kids love fast cars. might look again at an evora in a year or so if I decide to change the F. You got me thinking again...
  3. none of us have isfs because they are the best four door super saloon available (for the given age). It isn't. The m3 or c63 are better cars;better ride, better looking etc. However I didn't want to drive one of those as I wanted some understated and rare. ticks those boxes and ill put up the the at times awful ride. Section of m25 near Sevenoaks has the car bobbing up and down like Linda Lovelace (careful googling her boys). still love the car though. The rcf isn't subtle but id still have one! And the reliability of the F is a key point too for me
  4. my auto trader app says only two for sale at moment...almost makes me want to upgrade to the proper lsd version. Ps what are we doing up and on a forum at this time in the am?!
  5. if the 08 cars are priced at nearly 25k then that's incredible. Of course one 08 at 22 but even so that would mean no depreciation in the 18m ive had it. Assuming you can sell it for that.
  6. I was thinking that. Had to move it yesterday to get the lotus out and it was fine. Sounded amazing in a garage standing at the back!
  7. I've noticed the last couple of times I started the car in the garage a bit of a haze and a burnt oil smell. 55,000 miles or so now so I guess it's not entirely unexpected that it'll be showing a little bit of ageing. I shall keep an eye on it though naturally. Never did get my rattle sorted either! MoT this weekend, hope that's a formality. Dave
  8. FINALLY I found the time to extract the table I wrote way back when I purchased mine, which was the Targa car near the bottom. Here's what available on autotrader at the moment [August 2013]:- year reg colour miles £ seller 2011 11 slate 3660 35000 lexus twickwnham 2011 11 slate 8243 33975 lexus derby 2011 11 white 11425 32995 lexus glasgow 2011 60 blue 8736 30995 lexus edgware 2011 11 black 27000 30000 wokingham car centre 2008 58 silver 43500 21995 targa florida cars 2008 58 white 50000 20995 parkway birmingham 2008 58 grey 51000 20995 shamrock motors 2008 58 black 39000 20995 private
  9. are they missing the obvious chance to torque fill using toyota's electic gubbins. Now that would make a comparison to the M and AMGs interesting...
  10. oh wow. You lucky bugger. Private jet too. Wonder if you buy one they then supply an escort for the return flight?
  11. found the original table but can't copy and paste on my phone. Can't even paste a link to the page! Have mailed it to work and will paste asap. Grrrrr
  12. Stu. Can you do a table of current cars for sale. Age, miles and value. Maybe trade or private? I'll try and find the post I did yonks ago along these lines. Be nice if value is indeed stable despite the passing of time and extra miles. I'm doing 10,000 a year, probably high for the isf.
  13. how different my life may be if id got the nsx I so nearly purchased when I got my lotus... Loved the way it felt, the looks and the reputation. But the Elise ticked the track day use box better and that was that.
  14. interesting Ta. Could be my indi garage who run a lotus race team could do it. Again sod all use to op as its on Kent. ill let Lexus do mine in a couple of weeks since they have the car again for my rattle. Can't be bothered with the hassle of taking it to two garages...
  15. I didn't know that only Lexus can do it. This is where the running costs start to pick up in comparison to the value of the car, which for me is what 19k to 20k. Six years old, 50,000 miles. Still I say sod it, with a tank of petrol 60+ then its not much really is it?
  16. can't help sorry other than to say my local main dealer Down South charges something like £110 for full four wheel alignment. Good luck.
  17. its been for sale so long someone would have picked up a great deal if it was indeed fairly easy to get in shape.
  18. anyone got the time to do a list of those currently for sale? We did one a year ago when I got mine. Be interesting to see if they are staying level. is that white one still unsold? The garage made a mistake taking that didn't they? Must have cost them a lot in depreciation and storage and surely the longer its unsold the harder to shift it becomes?
  19. another "warning" that the warranty on the older cars has some exclusions. You pays your money but personally I'm accepting of the risk...ask me if that's wise in two years!
  20. picking up point mentioned above, if they hadn't covered the wheels then Financial Ombusdman would have surely awarded a claim against the broker for misselling the policy. These days you're quite well protected against this kind of nonsense
  21. welcome and good choice of car. What age, colour and mileage is it? There's an owners thread in here to log where they all are so add ya details when you get a moment. what's your car history? I had a mini, a mini cooper, a ford puma then an rx8, which I replaced for a super charged Elise and now have the isf and the Elise. my neighbour just rocked up in a 63 plate quatrroporte which means ive been trumped on noise and looks, but suspect ill win the reliability game. Enjoy your Lexus they are fine cars...
  22. its a real stealth car isn't it. Why didn't they sell more? Harsh ride maybe but badge envy is my guess..
  23. I'm not joking when I say we moved house so I could keep the lotus and isf in a garage... Oh and to get a bigger house!
  24. chuck him an email and suggest isf v m3 v whatever Audi it was at the time old group test in wales... Offer your car... You never know! Mind you you'll have your car thrashed by a journalist which may not be so much fun. They can use mine if they like (but its not as pristine as yours...)
