  1. My F appeared on autotrader at 14500 (I px at 11k) but has since gone. Wonder if the new owner will appear on here....?
  2. So the ISF finally gone. Fabulous car Alfa being PPFd this week, pick her up this time next week.
  3. Dunno but sometimes once the fault “is fixed” the MIL will clear on its own. My lotus threw an emission light once which lasted a dozen starts. Then went away and never came back.
  4. I will be sad to see her go. I have thoroughly enjoyed the 50,000 miles I've driven. Lovely car....
  5. It's the pipe leading to the calliper you removed? You sound like an excellent mechanic but I wonder if, after all these years, removing it was the final straw for the pipe? Were you not tempted to do the other side? Won't they be similar condition all things being equal? Scary stuff.
  6. I've had that thought many times over the years as it happpens! D
  7. Yeah wanted another saloon. I've still got my lotus too.
  8. It comes with five years warranty so at least for five years any issues aren't mine. It's also two years since launch with 750 sold in the UK alone so a decent chance or issues being identified already. But yeah it's more heart than head buying it over something not Italian! It'll be interesting that's for sure.
  9. Dark blue with dark alloys and yellow callipers. Couple of other extras which were standard items on the ISF such as electric seats.
  10. You're more than welcome to come.e have a look.....
  11. I'm an irregular here, but the forum was invaluable when I purchased my 08 silver in the summer of 2012 (I think it was 2012!). It goes like stink. It's comfy. It eats motorway miles and makes me smile when the opportunity arises to open the second valve I love when peteol heads come up and talk about it. They know it's rare. Aside from consumables like new front discs, and a minor misfire caused by a cracked plug and a dodgy air flow filter it's been utterly reliable. It's on 92,000 miles now and was on 42k when I picked it up. Full Lexus history. I got 11k in part exchange for a....Guila quadrifoglio. I wonder if that will be as reliable!?! I'm waiting for the Alfa to arrive from Italy so still have the ISF. It has been a great car. SL58WNS will appear on auto trader soon enough I imagine. Happy to tell any perspective owners about the time I had with it. Take care everyone Dave
  12. Just put my winters on the ISF and Jeep this week.. as it's been very mild here in Kent so far this year. My summer tyres are absolutely shot to bits and barely legal tread wise. I did however have a lot of fun knowing they were end of life... I've just ticked off 90,000 miles in my ISF, so nearly 50,000 since I picked it up 5 1/2 years ago! Dave
  13. I’ve had mine five years too! Time flies...
  14. I’ve not posted on here myself for ages either. My F is now ten years old and 86,000 miles on the clock. It remains a fabulous car. I was staring at the white F and a bloke at a bus stop said “that’s a nice noise”. Don’t think he expected me to know what it was or how it made the noise! rare things on the road as we know....
  15. It burbled past me by Asda Greenhithe near Bluewater. Sounded awesome....
  16. chap on the isle of Wight ferry came over yesterday, having notice the F badges and wheels, asking more about it. He didn't know lexus made a fast IS. i love being a petrol head.
  17. lovely. Both the car and your wife's advice...
  18. hang on. (1) does the OP have protected ncb? .(2) assuming his insurer reclaims all costs from the TP, there is no reason for a significant premium increase. but if no protection and TP turns out to be uninsured or whatever, then yes its not a nice outcome. other option is to get it repaired yourself...but it'll be expensive even just to replace and paint a bumper.
  19. naturally the problem has fixed itself without me doing anything at all! Started it this morning, no sign of any warnings. I have however ordered a new battery - £100 from Kwik fit and Halfords say they don't have one for the F - as gut feeling says the battery is on its last legs. It, one assumes, is ten years old later this year.... cars eh?
  20. you're welcome. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but always try to get an address and a landline, and then give it a call before you part company. basically assume the third party is a scam artist. Sad state of the world today...
  21. thanks for the replies folks. Yes it was biblical rain but also I know the battery is on its last legs, so id wager its the low voltage thing (thanks Steve) the car was fine when I parked it, but a few hours later wasn't so happy despite it not moving in that time. got a lot of miles to do tomorrow too, so fingers crossed its not the start of a meltdown!
  22. I quite like them, but one assumes they won't have the same air flow from the spokes that the oem ones have. Which really doesn't matter unless you're trying quite hard! do they weigh more? The ride is pretty harsh already (lotus owner too here, so my other car is rather special in that respect) so id be conscious of that too.
  23. disconnecting the battery did occur to me, so ill give that a go. It needs a new battery anyway as it happens. arqum, offer appreciated. I'll let you know how I get on.
  24. don't stress about it. If you have to pay it, you'll get it back when they prove its a non fault claim. That may take time.. did you get a landline or mobile number? and her registration number of course. What about her address? If the latter, do a drive by and see if the car is there.
