  1. Hey, this happend to me a few months ago. I changed my headlight bulbs, then went to fill up at a local oetrol station and on the way my car just started shaking and died. I managed to get her started again but then the dash lit up like a christmas tree. I too went over the last few steps and realised by air filter was not put back in properly and the intake hose had come out. Put everything back in place and the car was fine, however the "check VSC" was still on. Took the negative off the battery for 5 mins..........AND ALL WAS GOOD AGAIN. Must admit thou at first I was ****ting my pants as I started reading other posts and it seemed like a dealer job££££....But was lucky.
  2. Hi Guys, this sounds interesting and I think everyone should clean the EGR valve every few thousand miles. I want to check mine......is there a viedo or something or an instruction as to what and how I should do it? I used the BG44K for my petrol engine a few weeks ago and its great!! Thank you
  3. I put some one a ew months ago whcih are the best I have found so far - They are Dunlop Sport Maxx RT which have the lowest noise than any other tyre on the market. I got them from http://www.blackcircles.com/catalogue/dunlop/sp-sportmaxx-rt/225/45/R17/Y/91/f?returnurl=%2forder%2ftyres%3f%26width%3d225%26profile%3d45%26rim%3d17%26speed%3dW%26minpricerange%3d0%26maxpricerange%3d0%26manufacturer%3ddunlop%26displayall%3d6&tyre=32109083 Blackcircles.com
  4. WOW!!! Lexus in Woodford Essex want £120 + VAT!!!! just to look at the car and then they will advise me what needs doing.
  5. Hi Normski, Thank you for the reply. I have seen videos of the centre console and sat nav being removed for carbon warpping etc but none go as far as the arm rest. I wonder if taking the rear ashtray and vent off would help, will give it a try and see if I can get my hands up to the arm rest. Thank you
  6. Hello ... Did you manage to resolve your problem ? Hi T, Yes the BG44K did help and I did notice a slight improvement in power however the biggest improvement is the engine being more smooth and no jerking/shaking. The car performs much better when the engine is hot, but I guess this is normal and happens with all cars. My next job will be to have the terraclean - They have offered a small discount for LCO see below: "Hello, Yes this is subtle for nearly all cars, we could make a small discount to £80+VAT from £90 if thats of interest. Yes we have a nice waiting area and you can have a look at the car running after we have connected the machine. If this is on interest please give us a call 01908 231170. kind regards the Monster Sport Team" http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/270978348458?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_sacat%3D0%26_from%3DR40%26_nkw%3D270978348458%26_rdc%3D1 Thanks
  7. Hi all.. I have been having problems with my aux port for a while as it does not always work. I have tried so many cables from cheap to expensive. I have also tried the switch to FM and the start the car and trying aux - but still no luck. This evening i thought i will give the cable a slight push at the port and this helped, so assuming that the port was faulty i decided to take the port cover off with a flat head screwdriver.... NOW i have totally messed it us as the port has sliped in the armrest and i can not put the cover on nor get the port to come back up. can someone point me in the right direction please how to access the port under the armrest....and whilst I am there i dont mind chnaging the port if I have to if it is an easy job as I have seen video on how to take the NAV out but all those wires just threw me out I have tried to upload a picture but dont no if it worked, please see below: Thank you
  8. Hi, I had this issue and there was a topic a few weeks ago. All I can say is that I do not have this problem anymore!!! Just leave the aircon on and leave it at low speed - This way you can put on cold air or set the temprature up to heat the car in the winter - Problem solved At first I thought aircon should be off but Normski explained about the dry air and stuff, so point noted and no more steamy windscreen.
  9. Thank you once again. Seems like good stuff...Just ordered one through PowerEnhancer
  10. Hi Guy's One last questions...is the BG44K safe for the Lexus IS250 engine and the system? I have read the review and most say its the best thing and some say its a con. Has anyone tred it on a Lexus?.... Thanks
  11. Thank you Normski and Exdee, Will try the BG first as its only £20....see how I get on.
  12. Thanks Exdee, Just had a look at Terracland and a place in Milton Keynes does it for £108 they are called Monster Sport Euroupe, wil give them a call. What do you mean my "try BG" is that some sort of addittive you can by from like Halfords? I will disconnect the battery this evening to reset the ECU and see what its like. Thanks for your help
  13. Thanks John for the advise I would love to get the isF!!!!!! But for now I think I will take my car to Nationals for the Oil/Filter only change as I had the full service 6 months ago which included the spark plugs. Will get the codes read for a start..... Thank you
  14. Hi, just wondering if anyone can help me get some more power to my engine. I don't normally drive like a looney but today a BMW 318i just left me on a straight at the lights. I tried but my engine was just not performing as it should and when I became stationary again the engine was a bit jerky for 2 to 3 second as if it was crying from the thrashing. Do I need a remap, service although I had the 60,000 about 5,000 miles ago. If a remap is required does anyone know a good place in London or Essex Don't know if you guys notice this but when I start the car after the night before it usually doesn't perform as it should and feels like hard work. This gets better after the engine has fully warmed up. All comments will be appreciated, thank you
  15. Yes!! must admit this MOD is wicked and simple to install. I would agree with Jamie about pacing yourslef, but still fairly simple. I still need to change the wiring so that the mirrors fold at one click rather than two.
  16. So Waleed did you connect the blue wire from p40 to the purple wire at connector C. Does your mirror now close with locking the door once or are you still having to lock twice before the mirror closes. Thanks, also don't forget to text me.
  17. So how did you do it with out taking the panel off? I will check tonight to see how many wires I have on my connector.
  18. Thanks Geoff, I shall give it a go!!! Just afraid of all the Cam wires as one leads to another and all sorts of electronic issues.
  19. Wow...I am getting one of these kits, just emailed Michael. Anyone around London or Essex who can help me with the fitting??? Let me know pls Just had a look at the PDF instructions and I am already feeling dizzy.....Just not good at DIY Thank you
  20. Hi Thank you for your comment. Its been raining here in London lately so the windows are really misty. I just keep the aircon on low now, and that has helped me with the problem. Though when I turn the aircon off, there is a bad smell in the cabin, so placed an order for some normfest aircon cleaner which comes with a tube, will try this over the weekend. Do you guys alwats keep the air to recirculate in the cabin as is the default setting, or do you slect the outside option? (i guess the recirculate is default as lexus dont want any bad smell to entre the cabin from outside)
  21. Gary, seems like you are having alot of fun!!! I too have the Lexus IS250 which I have owned for three months now and love it!!! Only problem is that my insurance company reward me with bonus points for driving smoothly and within limits, however I have recieved none for the last three months I love it when at the traffic lights as the take off is insane!!!!
  22. Thank u normski, I for some reason thought the aircon was only for cold....Thanks for explaining the dry air bit. Sorry for the confusion, thank you for all your help.
  23. Thank you for your help. So in the winter would you keep it on low aswell or would you put it on heat. If you put it on heat would you change the re-circulation mode outside? As I turned to the heat option the other day but all that did was made it nore misty, i then changed the recirculate to outdoor and this did not help, so just went back to Air-Con.
