  1. No the parking brake is off and no light is showing...it makes a beeping noise if it is on. I will have to check that, sound like a good place to start
  2. Hi Newbie When I say it's noisy I mean in the cabin I can hear the engine revving hard - that noise. Not exhaust noise. I might have to look at the brakes again as it does feeling like something holding me back or when slowing down. Also when starting from day before when the car roles I can hear sqeeeky noise when wheels are rolling. Maybe it's the brakes behind the wheels which I can see, but there is no exssesive heat from the wheels. I bought another rear caliper from Lex Sheffield for £99 so will see what happens. Can sticking brakes make the car feel like there is load in car and hold me back. I have monitored the fuel usage and that is normal..24mpg in town and 35-9 on motorways...if it was clutch then maybe more fuel would be used
  3. Hi newbie....it's an auto Exhaust is smoking, pretty normal in this weather right? Or is there anything I should look out for? Should I give it another engine oil and filter change? October I spent £1k on parts for caliper and other bit don't want a huge bill again
  4. Thanks guys...don't want to hear it's a gearbox issue 😔 Can it still be an issue even thou I can see the gears change smoothly on the display. Gearbox oil change sounds good. Also could it be anything to do with the mech putting cheap engine oil on service
  5. Hi All - Hope you are well!! I am noticing loss of power to my car, it seems like I have lost the nippy touch when accelerating and is seriously having an effect on my enjoyment of driving my car. Before it was fast and smooth and very noticeable - now its noisy and revving hard :( It almost feels like I have a load and very heavy almost like something is holding me back. When I accelerate it feels like the engine is revving hard and trying so much but looking at the speedometer I am still moving from 30 towards 40MPH - Strange feels like when a clutch is on it way out or something. What I have inspected: I have walked around the car feeling the wheels to see if there is any heat to suggest sticking callipers - They are cold no heat I have checked all fluid levels - All okay I have checked to see if the AUTO gears move up as they should and they are shown on the display I have used flappy paddle shifts and they too are okay I have used Archoil AR6400 on fill ups I have just placed an order for BG44K It has been happening since I changed front and rear callipers and disc's with pads. I also changed the Oil and Filter here in October 2013. I have replaced the cabin filter with OEM and I have K&N Air Filter. Any suggestions what I can do - also I had a hydrogen engine clean last November. Thank you
  6. As I have the Mark Levison, if the Amp is not working then I loose the full sound. Maybe you have a blown fuse - That's what I would check first - Read you manual to see what fuse to check or you can see under the drivers knee area where the fuses are to see which one is blown, sorry I dont have exact location.
  7. Hi this happend to me once, see hear: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/93237-loss-of-sound-mlevison-system-but-then-back-again/ Did you ever have the stereo working...I mean sound coming? In the boot you will see under the mat on the right hand side is the amplifier for the ML see if you have any loose connections. I had lots of shopping that was pushing on the amplifer so no sound...Took shopping out and all was working fine.
  8. So Chump..are you running Philips xenon bulbs now rather than a HID kit and you say its a lot brighter. I have had my HID conversion kit for past 10 months and it's great and super bright without glare...I have 6000K which is E marked. Checked at MOT no problem. This is only legal if you have projector headlamps. However I have seen the Osram Nightbreaker Unlimited and they look really cool and are a great upgrade from standard halogens. £30 a pair thou but worth it, if you don't want the HID kit conversion
  9. Hi Agent, how much did you buy the sills for and where? I remember they were so expensive when I was searching. Must say looks good :)
  10. I installed some LED Lexus Logo lights which are plug and play - 3 sec install and they look great - Thanks Normski for the recommendation. Ebay £15 job done!!
  11. Hi you can check www.aliexpress.com but these are hard to find. Or you can buy carbon vinyl sheet and wrap it yourself - easy to do if you take your time, alternatively take it to a local car wrapping place who will be happy to do it for you...search Gumtree and you will find many places local to you that do car wrapping - This option will be much cheaper as the main panel that sits below the gear lever can cost £100-£200 at car breakers :(
  12. Hi if you don't have standard factory xenon's then you will need to install HID kit, which I had to do. Very easy to do and will take 30-40 minutes to install. Plug and Play If you are looking for a bright light with hint of blue then go for a 6000K kit - Highly recommended!!! - I have this now If you want very bright white light then go for the 4500k-5000k kit - Factory look with no blue hint If you want a more blue look then go for the 8000K kit - This looks very good on a black car - I will be getting this next If you want a purple look then go for 10000K - I would not recommend this, also you will be pulled over by police! When buying the after market kit you will find 35W kit and a 55W kit. The 55W kit will be much brighter but make sure the ballast his AC output and not cheap Digital Output like some £15-£20 kits will be. I purchased Ebay item number: 301120250761 Hope this helps....also you will find that there is not much variety with the H11 bulb like the is with H7 or other sets.
  13. Hi and welcome. IS250 Auto is a great car. I would grew with you in the headlight being very low. I recently changed mine with an after market HID kit costing me £40 and 30min to install. I went for a 55W 6000k H11 kit and it looks great. There are many sellers on EBay but make sure you get a AC ballast version and not the digital version. As for the engine sound I am not sure exactly what you mean as mine is really quiet but only the injectors would sing slightly when warming up but the veru quiet and smooth. Maybe you can give it a oil change as these engines do like new oil. You may find that the noise improves if not disappear. There is a thead here by newbie regarding Engine Oil and Level, it covers a bit on engine improvement with new oil.....good read. Another upgrade you can do is interior LED kit costing £20 from ebay. This will give you a much better illumination and very easy to diy. Also there is a auto folding mirror kit you can install which will fold your mirrors when you lock the car...search P40 Kit on this forum and you will find all the details. Your break problem could be a number of things. Maybe you have missing shims on the pads, maybe the clippers sticking etc...just check all yourself. Hope this helps😄
  14. Here you go...this is what I bought full set and really easy to change. You will be pleased with the result :) http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/260863230811?nav=SEARCH As for the detailing well all I can say they are not cheap...it all depends on what you are looking for. You can go to the detailing part of this forum and see my review of Turtle Wax Black Box. Although it won't take away the stone chips completely you will be very happy with the result and its really easy to apply...just make sure you have gloves..full kit will cost £25 from Halfords and then 2-3 hours of sweat. You can google SMARTREPAIR to see if you have any technicians near you as they are good at taking away stone ships.
  15. Hi have a slight rattle on ticking noise on cold start but this does go away once all nice and warmed up. Just had my MOT done over the weekend and was surprised how quiet the engine was when having the inspection done, flied through the test!!
  16. Ahmed, if you are near Hainault then you can use the same guy I use. He used to be the technician at Lexus Woodford. Recently he did my Ball Joints, Front and Rear Calliper, Brake Discs, Water Pump, Full Service. Nice guy and price very good - You can buy the parts or he can do it for you. Let me know and I can give you his number, also he can come to you if any repair can be done on drive.
  17. I got these - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/301255531477?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_from%3DR40%26_sacat%3D0%26_nkw%3D301255531477%26_rdc%3D1 Be warned very very bright - I love it!! Cheap and delivery took around 10 days - High quality item for the price no problems at all for past 2-3 months.
  18. Thanks Exdee. You may be right that I did not see the movement dramaticly so hence why I have a jagged line now. i was hoping that with every turn I would be able to see the light move but I guess it's not that sensitive. Will give another go tomorrow. Thanks
  19. Ok so I took the covers of engine bay and did see the cogs to the far left and right on the wing. Turned it clock wise say to or three times but my beams did not go up. Tried it the other way again nothing. Took it back to where it was and then gave up. Now I have a problem...whilst lighting up a flat wall I notice that by beam ahead is it not level and has a jagged look to it like zig zag. Before it we one smooth light/line Do you think the cog may have moved the beam pattern left and right and not up down? I was looking forward to installing my 55W 6000k HID H11's but gave up. Did do the 501 cree but need to do the low beams tomorrow as the side light look too blue with the standard halogen.
  20. Exdee there is a switch inside the car near the knee on drivers side. I have mine in 3 but even at max height the beam is still very low. Doing it from outside in the cog will help me raise the beam up more hopefully.
