Im on 225/45/18 with 8j rim width ET35,can be a little harsh on big pot holes, but on a run its ok, i get no rubbing
245/45/18 is a very close match to original rolling radius. just -2mm overall

I couldn't see Guy Martin doing it as its 2 wheels that interest him and I couldn't see me watching TG with a motor cycle section as they hold no interest to me whatsoever. There are already several motor cycle programs on Sky and they don't pull the greatest in viewer numbers and ultimately its viewer numbers that dictate as to what we watch. Mike
Mike, indeed guy is famous for bikes but he is a real petrol head as well,he owns a very interesting very quick Volvo amazon estate B) and many cars before.just dosent bloat about it

Why would you use another user name ??
-
Dident sell,no surprise there then
-
Clarkson has had his day,too much of the same stuff from him lately.
New Top Gear line up should be James May,Richard Hammond and Guy Martin B) get the bike side of things as well then, and Guy is a down to earth bloke in the same way as Fred Dibnah was :)

http://www.preloved.co.uk/adverts/show/112451523/16-alloy-wheels-with-michelin-auris-tyres.html
Unfortunately they are from a vw transporter which use a different stud pattern 5x120 or 5x112,most jap 5 stud are 5x114.3

Watched a few minutes and decided not for me, I like to see a bit of Chemistry not just between presenters but real affinity with the 'object'.
That is why I prefer Guy Martin a man with a spanner and a hammer who knows what he's on about. Shame he is not into cars, but great to see him working to make anything mechanical run at 100%.
I wonder what Guy would make of the LS if he got his hands on one
Great character is Guy Martin, and he is into cars, infact a very retro fast one ...............http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2790676/fastest-car-britain-grey-1967-volvo-daredevil-s-supercharged-family-estate-car-hit-205mph-thanks-788-horsepower-engine.html

1978 was my first road legal bike, well almost it still had pedals Gilera Enduro 50cc 75pence a gallon plus a few pence for a shot of 2 stroke from the forecourt device.........Happy days :)
-
Is that a picture of you on an Rd yammy there? I've been into bikes myself until my wife had the stroke and had to sell mine. I had a 1520 goldwing interstate so I guess big engines are in my blood
Yea mark thats my old smoker loving the cheddar gorge twistys which we normally met at every couple of years with the Aircooled RD club. The smell of Castrol R up through the gorge is intoxicating :)
She surprises a few of the bigger/modern bikes even now.may have something to do with it being breathed on and a pilot that weighs as much as a wet J Cloth
Oh and still on topic it does about the same as the LS full consumption wise

Hi Paul we are staying in seaton. Our friends moved down there last year and they live on the seaside front so we will be able to pop in on them. I see you are in Devon, or as it's said "the English riviera".
We are about 50 miles further along that coast and a little inland,Ogwell just outside the Market town of Newton Abbot,a stones throw from Dartmoor one way and the Beaches etc tother way.
Theres a few Lexi round ere,ive clocked 3 other mk3s and a couple of 430s so a friendly bunch :)
-
I'm getting around the low 20's mpg on my ls430 according to the computer and I only have a round trip of 8.4 miles to and from work and home. I use the cruise function whenever I can and keep the mph down as much as possible. I have no idea what I will get on motorways and don't normally have a need to use them. I will be towing our little caravan down to Devon at the end of may and it will be interesting to see how she performs then. In any case the benefits far outweigh the issues with the fuel as I now have a car that will easily take my wife's wheelchair without the necessity of folding the double seat down at the back to get it into the boot like on my old car, and she can manage to get into the car without me having to lower her in and pull her up when she gets out which saves my back! :)
Mark were abouts you visiting in Devon ?
-
Not in my manor, but could be worth a look as low mileage and good history :)

Thanks Malc I need to brush up on mk's here's mine collecting it tomorrow
A mk2 that one, separate headlights,mk3 had all in one headlamps.
Have fun, plenty of wafting to come :)
-
mk1 gs300 staggered lexus wheels, could be difficult to find.as not fitted to all gs300.
-
So a 94 is a mk2 so no big front calipers to cause an issue.
So the world is your oyster really as loads of wheels 5x114 stud pattern
These 9x17 rear 8x17 fronts came of a supra.
Then i went upto some 8x18s that came up cheap on the bay,no rubbing problems on either set up.
Mazda RX8 alloys are very reasonable second hand, but have to be spaced out to far on the front of a mk3 to clear the big calipers.

My mk3 shocked me when i first got the car as still had the 05 sportcross which i thought good, but the LS is in a totally different ball park,as i am a great lover of good sounds,it brought war of the worlds to a higher level :) along with all my other collection of ska/reggae/dance/soul infact everything sounds great in the LS.
But i may wind the window down occasionally when ive doctored the exhaust B)
After About 7 Ls400S It's Time For A 430
