When i purchased the LS over 2 years ago now,i checked it over and decided to leave replacing the front discs as not great but passed mot etc until the pads had worn out so last week a warning light appeared on the dash, and the fluid level is correct,so pulled the front wheels and yes the pads are very low now, rears replaced 18 months ago.so we will see how the blueprint discs/mintex pads combo works after they have been delivered and probably fitted at the weekend

I've tried to like it over the years but it's no use........I still think it's plug ugly. And a complete waste of a large wheelbase.
Just sayin'...........
I am totally with you there,i really want to like it but cant get over its whole shape, could have been stunning

Well mine has nearly 200,000 miles on her so expected

Ditch the alarm all together as its an add on when the mk3 came to the uk,made by scorpion originally to cover thatcham insurance crap. its beyond its sell by date by now.
Plenty of after market alarm systems that will fit,i have a Hawk system in mine now, with no issues :-)

My Lexus original (pioneer) is still working just great,no need to change it,sounds fabulous, although i did need the back lights sorting and when first bought the car the cd changer was inop, simply plugged in a good used one :)
I do have a spare head unit if anyone requires one, back lights need doing though.

I too would be gutted !! hope you get sorted soon weather it be a decent pay out or get the Ls repaired

I think the same guy has another LS for sale with a driver's side wiped out.
So he does,it would make an ideal Winter car,as it will never be mint, but will still go on forever and LPG too :)

And the old mk1 goes on :) ...............http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lexus-LS400-New-York-Taxi-/301805078559?hash=item4644fc081f:g:LfoAAOSw585WULIU

To be honest it's not really single figure mpg. I get around 15-18 mpg driving locally. I live quite rural so no city driving involved
Johns is single figures he does a lot of towing and a heavy right foot.the V8 rumble is intoxicating B)
-
Like ya thinking Ruud :) ,chap at work has one almost identical,he has whipped out the centre silencers which makes a nice rumble, but the single figure mpg is a little had to take over the winter
-
Love it or loath it,someone has spent alot of money and time getting it like this, gotta be the most extreme 400 in the UK
-
Back light on Head unit now fully lit :)
And Temp unit off the bay now reads full numbers :)
-
After last winter using the LS400 for the daily commute i decided to op for a winter hack this year so to save the Old girl getting so grubby etc,so nice too drive at the weekends :D
So its still jap,250 quids worth of Accord :) got most of the 400 toys, just not the same refinement by a long way.

Its local to me,he is using the engine to transplant into a hilux 4x4 so if anyone needs any bits pm me,i can arrange with him as im having a few bits, this is not a for sale post just the heads up if anyone needs anything, apart from engine/ecu etc
-
I was going to try summut along those lines, although keeping the cat internals but deleting the big centre silencers,
-
I like the understated look. Not that many people realise it has a V8 engine and is limited to 155mph! I was asked in a car park the other day, "Nice looking car, does it have a 2.0 litre engine?" I really like the fact that many people have no concept of how good the LS. If it was a Merc or BMW 7 series they might comment - but if they look and just walk by, it makes me smile!
Funnily enough i had a remark like this when parked at a garden centre yesterday, chap said nice Lexus what size is it,v8 4 litre i says,Wow says matey B)
