I am sorry but i disagree with that. Unless the current air filter is clogged up simply changing to K&N filter does not make any difference in acceleration. They make good quality filters however i will pass on their "washable performance oil filters" range and treat their air filters as normal- whent it's time for service the old filter ends up in the bin! It is possible to gain few horsepowers by fiddling with intake, but that involves reprogramming ECU and the difference in the performance will still be barely noticeable. There is no cheap solutions im afraid :)

Hello Neil I've had paddle shift on a Honda Accord 2.0i VTEC, it needs a bit beefier engine to be enjoyed..Sure it will be awesome mod for Your SC. Start studying SC gear selector modules or speak to someone with experience in this field. Once You get the wiring sorted, the rest is pretty straightforward. I once owned the E46 330d auto. On the manual setting you have to press downwards to change gears up. I could not believe BMW engineers would come out with this.. in the end it annoyed me so much i changed it (+ upwards - downwards). As on Your SC there is a microswitch on each end of the selector. Whenever the selector is moved + or - live is connected to earth and the gearbox ECU knows to change gear. Your modification cuts into this circuit. When the paddle is pressed, the very same signal is grounded via the steering wheel, giving the same effect. Best of luck with the job i have every faith You'll get it done :) Mel

LS400 and LS430 are totally different cars.. as i found out today trying to change the HID bulbs on both sides. On LS400 it was easy as pie :) Im confident about getting the job done myself. That includes bleeding the system properly. However what im not confident about is the quality of the cheap £100 radiators..

Lexus Rc F Sunday Times Road Test

Very rarely You can see negative reviews and the reason is simple- Motor Journalists have to be in a good relationship with dealers. Their livelihood is depending on it. Usually with new model reviews comes an "honest" opinion about the previous generation: how bad was the handling, mpg, design etc.. and how much everything has now been "improved" :) PS. RC F is an awesome car -

Is it because of the fuel injection setup or for some other reason? -
Hello Jonathan I had similar problems with my mk4 LS400 , at some point audio control button stopped working alltogether. All problems dissapeared when i changed the dvd unit in the boot. Original one was water damaged and caused these anomalies. Water leak in the boot however was not easy to sort on LS400. I fitted new boot seal, siliconed the rear lights and antenna, still every time i parked the car nose down i had some water leaking into boot. One of the design flaws of this model i guess. Best Wishes Mel

Thanks Eff for advice, i am already looking for new rad from various websites.. prices start from £75 but i'd like to wait and see what the dealer quotes first. I have also heard some very good feeback about "Radweld" type substances and i would not hesitate to use this stuff in 11-year old Ford/Vauxhall/BMW.. but this time i do not want anything else circulating in this beautyful V8 engine but coolant :)

I found this image from http://www.lexussouthatlantaparts.com/showAssembly.aspx?ukey_assembly=1175318&ukey_make=1082&ukey_model=15670 Has anyone had any experience changing/repairing part 16441? Most likely i will change the whole assembly.. The car is on 130 000 miles and i think i will leave the water pump for now going by the old saying- if it's not broken don't fix it.

This morning took the covers off and it didn't take long to find where the leak is Im going to entertain myself by phoning Lexus Leicester on monday morning and see how much blood they want for a new radiator. With a little help and advice i should be able to do the work by myself. The cambelt is done i can't find any records about water pump.. I think it's worth changing the water pump while the radiator is off.

Sitting at the traffic lights in Leicester City centre, noticed some smoke coming from.. under the hood of my Lexus Pulled over asap to check the damage, engine bay covered in coolant. Hurray! I was not able to see where is it coming from, but coolant reservoir still had juice left. My brother owns a recovery truck i never tought i would have to ring him but i did not want to take any chances cooking the engine. Anyways got the car on my drive now.. temp gauge stays normal, oil looks ok, no grey smoke from exhaust. Waiting for daylight to take the covers off and check for leaks..

Someone recommended to use 8 ohm Sub with output no more than 100RMS. These are not easy to find. And if the shape is slightly different then lots of work will be needed to make it fit.. I think i'll pass and go for repair kit. But just to let everyone know, a bit of silicone will do as a cheap temporary fix.

I've had a very frightening experience 3 years ago on the new years eve. Accelerated from the traffic lights and the car just kept going on full power even tough i had taken my foot off accelerator pedal. Pushing the brakes did not seem to have any affect so i had to swith off the ignition to stop. I was scared to death and so was my 8 month pregnant missus in the passenger seat. Lucky it happened around midnight with very little traffic. The car was Mercedes C32 AMG with supercharged 354 horsepower V6 engine and just 70 000 miles on the clock. Had to sell it because the incident was always going to be in the back of my mind..

I do not mean to offend anyone, but just start some sort of a discussion about diesel cars in general. I have been a proud owner of quite a few of them over the years: BMW 320d, 530d, MB E320 CDI, Focus 2.0 TDCI etc.. been utterly dissapointed in all of them. Too many things to worry about.. (turbocharger, egr, dpf, injectors etc..) all sound like tractors (and that goes for 220d too) and despite the fact that all my cars have been low milegae, well looked after examples, black smoke under hard acceleration is simply embarrassing. My annual mileage is in the region of 5000 miles, i understand many of you clock up 30 000 in 6 months and fuel economy will in that case be important. Why not get a small petrol engine instead? LPG? I got well over 50mpg on the run out of 2012 Passat 1.4 petrol with DSG gearbox (i know these TSI engines have their own problems).. I will never buy another diesel car. Because for me most of them look pretty on paper, but are noisy, smelly and expensive to run (servicing, problems) in real life. PS. Happy new year to all diesel- and petrolheads!

I had a similar problem with LS400- some of the audio controls did not work, i could not adjust speaker settings etc.. Traced the problems to the satnav unit in the boot- it was water damaged (leaking boot seal). Interesting, that the navigation bit was still functioning ok, but it was causing problems to the head unit.

1) Engine-gearbox-brakes-suspension etc.. 2) Interior 3) Exterior Whenever i am looking to buy a car, i can allow for problems in one of these categories. If there is some suspension problems for example, but the interior and paintwork is mint- i see no problem completing the deal if the price is right. However if in addition, some of the electrics do not work, seats worn and dirty, dents and scratches etc.. i walk.

I don't think I'm in the wrong forum but thanks for your advice. Even porsche owners discuss fuel economy. There's nothing wrong with having these discussions after all that's what theses forums are for aren't they. looks are a matter of personal preference. I'm sure the IS owners would say the 250 is a better looking car. Lastly I think both engines are great and after driving german for 20+ years I'm gonna see how well the GS treats me. Congrats. on new car and welcome to the forum. Please accept my apologies i did not mean to be rude. It is simply my personal veiw, that fuel economy is completely irrelevant in this class. But still, £90K diesel S class is selling strong :D

Taking the door card off is 7 minute job, speaker bolted to the door frame with 3 screws. Silicone repair works ok, but i will order some repair kits and do it properly in a few weeks time. Getting the subwoofer out was a complete nightmare. Took me a whole day and it was even worse to put it all back together. I don't want to do it again :outforcount:
