Suppose you did :P.. Just hope the "seller" doesn't manage to catch anyone with it
-
Haven't had a chance to give it a proper look yet but all feels fine apart from the front doesn't like going over minor potholes or dips in the road but putting that down to the springs the last guy put on it.
Any recommendations as to sport springs?
And BTW Pete your alloys look f***ing awesome :D

Maybe someone should put a post somewhere warning people? Just in case someone see's it think's "wow what a bargain" and gets ripped off? :/

Unfortunately Matt's right.. If I could I probably would though :P.. Got plenty of time (I hope) to work on mine though :)

Hey guys,
I'm wanting to replace the suspension front and rear on my 200, I got the car just 1 month ago and the previous owner decided to lower the front but not the back so it currently looks like I'm breaking hard everywhere xD.
Unfortunately I'm only just getting into cars, modding and the likes so don't know all the in's and outs. I understand I need Struts, Shocks and Springs But don't know what ones to get. Was trying to get some low mileage sport suspension for the slightly lower ride height but can't seem to find anyone selling them so now looking at getting a custom set. I don't want it too low, as I said I'd prefer close to stock sport height if possible.
As for coilovers I cant afford them but wish I could :(
Any help is greatly appreciated as always :)
Thanks

Hey guys,
Looking for some tips and tricks on repairing alloys, mainly corrosion. I've attached 2 pics of the worst wheels/areas.
I know I can send them off to get refurbed professionally but looking to do it myself to save a bit of cash and give me something to do on the weekend (hoping its still sunny :D )
Thanks in advance

Wouldnt be so bad if they were aloud to close the road off to drift.. Rarely see police go up that way.
Would take my car out to meets but its a bit embarrassing to take out atm mainly because the previous owner decided to lower the front but not the back so currently looks like I'm breaking hard all the time xD.. Hopefully soon it'll be up to scratch though :)

I don't suppose the meet you went too went to was on sunday just gone?.. Remember seeing 2 drifters coming from that way on my way back from my girlfriends :)

Chris where abouts in Somerset you live?.. I'm about 5 mins from Chedder myself :D

Wow 5k? :/... Didn't realise it would cost that much.. I thought it was bolt a turbo on, pipe it in and set it up :(.
Guess I'll be saving up for a charger then. But in the meantime there's plenty more I wanna do with my IS200 :)
Thanks

That turbo kit is a very good price.. Better then what I found and it includes the turbo itself.. Charger kits also a great price but I cant afford it :(.
I was looking at the IS300 but don't like auto's was looking at altezzas too but a bit pricey for me :/. But depending on how much an ECU is depends if I turbo it yet or not.
Thanks

Hey guys,
I'm thinking of sticking a turbo on my IS200 cause I'm to impatient to wait for a supercharger :).
So far I've found a good price kit and turbo but just need advice if you've got any on what sort of ECU I'd need and any problems I might face?
Thanks in advance

Hey guys,
I'm thinking of sticking a turbo on my IS200.. Found a kit with all the right bits apart from an ECU, oil and water lines.
Just wandering if you guys know of the cheapest good ECU to run it all on, now I know they aren't the cheapest thing on the planet but unfortunately don't have the money to get the best of the best so I'm hoping you guys can help or my dreams of turboing it now are going down the drain :)
Thanks

So it should fit on the stock SE drive shafts?
Sorry for all the questions but new to Lexus's and modding cars in general :)
Thanks

Hey guys,
Just wandering if the LSD from the IS200 sport would fit on my SE without any modification?
Thanks

Sorry to hijack your thread but does anyone know if there's any advantages to having a DVD based Sat Nav over the CD based one?
And if the DVD system is better is it easy to swap the CD for a DVD based one?
Thanks :)
Very difficult to swap them - it isn't just the disc, it is the nav unit and the screen.
The DVD based system allows one disc to cover Europe whereas the each CD only covers one country. The DVD based system is faster and has more features but that is because it is a newer generation nav system rather than anything specifically to do with the media the map data is held on.
So I can't just buy this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2001-LEXUS-IS-200-250-300-NAVIGATION-COMPUTER-sat-nav-GPS-DVD-86841-53020-/221240101805?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item3382f00bad , plug it in and it'll work?
shame :(
Thanks

Don't need a reversing camera that's what mirrors are for ;)
Will most likely get this eBay no:181154459864 cause I've got and android and want USB so I don't have to keep unplugging and plugging my phone in and out.

Unfortunately I'm not made of money I'm not made of money and although it is 'only' £100 more for a decent stereo that's £100 I can put towards getting the wheels refurbed :)
But after reading up a bit more I'm more interested in the Grom audio solution which is cheaper .. Hopefully I'll be able to find one on eBay or the likes, if not then I'll buy it new.
Thanks for the advice though :)

I was thinking of going for this: http://milion.com/details.aspx?product_no=D2223 would that work?
Also I have a Sat-Nav built in if that means anything?
Thanks

P.S. Sorry for the noob questions.. First time fitting a stereo in a proper car xD

Hey guys,
So I got myself an IS200 SE the other day with the horrible ERR3 error on the CD changer and unfortunately there is only a certain amount of time I can listen to the radio so I'm thinking of getting a new stereo.
My question is, is there anything extra I need to buy apart from a double-din facia and the stereo itself? I don't really want to start taking it all apart and find that I'm missing something :S
Thanks in advance!

Ah.. Well worth an ask :).. Thanks for the quick replies.. So powder coating is recommended over refurb?

Hey guys,
New to this forum so sorry if I'm posting in the wrong place or anything.
I've just bought my 1999 IS200 SE, everything is in pretty mint condition apart from the alloys and missing a cap from one of the headlight jet washers which I believe can be bought from Lexus for ~£18?
Anyway I've been reading up on others refurbing they're alloys for around £200-250 and then I noticed some people saying Lexus has recalled a load of alloys due to lacquer problems?
Just wandering if anyone knows which Is200's were recalled and do you think I'd still be in with a chance of getting new ones from Lexus?
Thanks in advance :)

If I could afford to then I would Ian =/.. Doing them myself will probably just be a temp jobs anyway until I can get them done properly, and if I can get most of the work done myself then hopefully will bring the cost down a bit when I get the properly refurbed.
