    Not so sure about the legal issues - the Jaguar XE seems set to offer it. It could simply be that our model years are different - and of course the US is a vastly bigger market. On topic, David is right - regard the car as a petrol car with electric assistance, rather than the other way around, and it all makes sense.

    Try your dealer if you can. Mine were certainly lined up to help, but in the end I didn't need them.

    Btw under lease I am not the legal owner but I am the registered keeper. I think that's the important thing.

    I lease mine and noticed no difference. Due to different law we tend to have slightly higher insurance premiums in NI than in GB, but I'm at under £300. I can't comment re GAP as it doesn't really apply.

    Just by way of update - I went into the dealer and upgraded to 'F' on 22 December, and all is perfect. I find I get the navigation in the dashboard (really useful) provided all the voice options are ticked 'on'. I used to have them off. Now I just have the voice volume at zero but technically 'on', I find it works. (I don't worry about whether my contacts are properly updated so can't vouch for that.)

    To answer the question - they may. They beat a price I had from a local fleet dealer.

    If you're updating, I'd advise just taking it in and letting your local dealer do it. It's complimentary and doesn't take long.

    QUESTION: I updated to "F" yesterday and was delighted to find detailed map details appearing before each junction *on the dashboard in front of me*, something I had lost after a previous update. However, last night (continued today) I lost them again! Urrgh! Any ideas?

    SOLUTION: With regard to message read out on an iPhone, I solved this *on my phone*. Go to Bluetooth, go to the Lexus connection, and make sure everything is checked on including "Show notifications".
