I know these are rare to come by, but if anyone's got one for sale, please let me know :)
Thanks!

Alright, so I tried the vinyl I mentioned and I must say I am very happy with the result and the amount of time and money I saved by using it.
Here's a pic of the fix:
Thank you all for your help!
-
If it was me ide get hold of the trim from a breaker. I would look into carbon wrap also but not carbon effect, maybe a nice chrome silver or gloss black mmmm :) but you'd have to do the whole car really
I'm gonna try a 3M brushed black metallic vinyl first on the damaged area, and see how it looks. Might not need any more adjustments afterwards, hopefully..
-
Nice, then I'll give it a try! I'll come back with picture of the result :) Thank you all for your help!
-
Ok!
I got another tip that I could use something like this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-3M-BRUSHED-Aluminum-Vinyl-Car-Wrap-Film-12-x-60-1ftx5ft-/120866972006
I think that would actually make it look good. Seems like an easy, quick and cheap fix :)
-
Haha, alrighty, thanks a lot!
Did you just cover the whole damaged part, I mean the the whole area in between the fake joints?
-
Sorry don't have a pic but i used the "4D" effect vinyl off e-bay on my damaged dash (same place as yours) and it looked fine. Buy the black though NOT the gray.
Is it this one you are referring to?
Seems like it makes the car look a bit more "fast and the furious", and less.. how to say, neutral.. I don't know..
-
Oh alright, I'll have a look at it, thank you! My father works with cars and paints these, and he had a suggestion that we might try to paint it, grind it down a bit first and then repaint, but it might be hard to get a color looking the same as the rest of the dashboard..
Anyways, I tried the suggestion to use a razor at my door. I must say I'm really happy with the result!
-
Okey, sounds like it's just a temporary solution then. I would rather try to fix it, if possible, so I don't have to redo it over and over again..
-
Regarding the dashboard, some guys on the swedish lexusownersclub recommended something called "Plasti paint" (http://www.dipyourcar.se/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=95).
Is this something anyone have any experience with? Sounds like it could be a solution, but I'm still worried that the outlines of the damages will be visible even though it's painted..
-
Regarding the black dash part, easiest way would be to cover with carbon effect vinyl,or even the real carbon fibre adhesive sheet.
Sounds silly but lightly go over bobbled area on door card with a disposable razor. Works a treat. GENTLY though.
I have thought about trying to cover up the damage with some kind of sheet yes, but I think it might go on looking a lot "cheaper" when having it. What do you guys think?
Have you seen any car with any effect vinyls?
The second advice for the cardoor sounds like an idea, I'll definitely test that today, I'll also come back with an update how it went! Thank you very much :)
Get £180 off your friend.....He damaged it!!
Yeah I know, the problem is he doesn't have a job, which means he has got no money, but yeah.. I got some money from him in the beginning, but not nearly enough to cover the expenses,
and now he have stopped paying me so haha. It's a bit tricky..

Hello all!
I'm here in search for some help or advice.
A couple of weeks ago, a friend of my scratched my dashboard with the foot of his computer screen (he had the screen in his lap).
Now it looks horrible, and I have no idea whether I have to replace the whole dashboard for a cost of ~180£ (~2000SEK), or if there's any
fix that can be done, either to camouflage it or entirely fix it. Here's a pic of the damage:
I also have another damage at the drivers door. Seems like the previous owner had the car window open when it rained or something, and the texture has got all "curly" or something. Guess there's no way to fix this, but no harm done by asking.. Any help is appreciated!
Thank you for your time!
Best regards,
André

Hello!
I just recently bought a supercharger for my IS200, and as of now I'm using an open apexi filter. The charger is making hell of a noise haha, so I'm looking for a original TTE airbox for a reasonable price.
If you have one for sale, or happen to know someone who does, please let me know!
Best regards,
André

Yeah, if these LEDs doesn't work I'll go back for certain.
-
Have a twist off your rheostat too in case its got dust in it. LEDs are much more responsive to sudden voltage changes than filament bulbs.
Ok, I'll give it a try! Though I'm not certain where it's located, haha
Edit: Realized it's the adjustable knob. I've been trying out different settings for that one as well, with the same result. Getting reeeeal tired of this sh*t.
-
Okay, then I might consider it as an "investment", almost, since I will probably be able to sell it for the same value if I grow tired of it? :) Ah, ok.. I'll keep that in mind if I find a kit for sale! :)
-
Yeah, I've seen some lately as well but as you said they were gone instantly. I also saw one kit sold at craiglist.co.uk for £1000 but my guess is that is sold in a matter of seconds.. Seems like they go for around £2k but they don't seem to drop that much in value while used, or am I wrong?

Hello!
I've been driving my IS200 for a while now, and I would like to boost its performance a bit. I've read about the TTE Supercharger and I know it is quite rare, but if anyone's got one for sale, or know somebody who wants to sell his/hers, let me know! If it's for the right price I am really interested!
Best regards!

Sorry, with LEDs. Bought them off eBay and have tried several different ones, though with the same result..

Hello all!
Hopefully I can get some help here.
I bought myself and IS200 a couple of months ago, and it came with the original orange/red dashboard lights installed. First they worked fine, but then one of them died and did not work anymore. I tried the standard way of hitting the dashboard from the side and then it would flicker some, and in some cases start to work again. When it had started to work again for a while, it died again and did not work anymore.I then decided to switch all of the light bulbs inside the dashboard to blue ones. Said and done, I removed the dashboard and installed the new blue light bulbs where the old ones had been.
First it worked OK and there were no problems. A couple of days later the same bulb that died first when I bought the car died again. I switched bulb again, and the same thing happened again.
Later the bulb on the opposite side died, and now one of the bulbs on the top are flickering.Does anybody have any idea what the problem might be?
I have nicked some photos online to illustrate the problem:
The red one to the bottom left is the one that died first when I bought the car, and also died twice when I switched to blue bulbs. The yellow one to the bottom right must also have died I believe, since trip meter doesn't light up very well. The yellow top one is flickering right now. This is the back, of course. The red circle is the one that died when I bought the car, and which I have replaced with blue bulbs twice, and still is dead. The yellow one to the right is the one I believe also have died since the trip meter doesn't light up very well. The top yellow one is the one flickering right now.
Any suggestions or ideas of what might be wrong or how to fix it is much appreciated!
Best regards,
MajorT

Yeah, my father bought himself the IS300, but I thought I would be fine with 155 bhp since it was a big upgrade from my previous car, though I now think my old car would accelerate past my IS200 haha. Guess I could look for an IS300, but yeah..
-
I agree. I believe most of the IS200 drivers think that the stock engine without modifications is too darn slow, and most of us would like to boost the engine a bit, but since they don't make the super charger kit no more they really increase in price to a level which most of us can't afford, or don't wanna spend. I guess there's some after market kits but I would really like something that has been developed specifically for the IS200. Gah

Yeah, that sounds right I guess, thank you for the answer :)
