  1. I can only go by mine, but mine needs to be pushed virtually to the floor to work efficiently, when I had a loaner it was exactly them same Mind you when its fully on its very effective
  2. Yes at full lock mine makes an odd sound, if you put it on full lock and stop and have a look the wheels are at quite an angle!! its hardly surprising they make a noise Nice to have a decent turning circle after driving nasty front wheel drive cars
  3. Sorry not noticed any probs with my aged and knackered body getting in and out, although I do bang my head on the handgrip thingy!!
  4. 6'4 and no probs, have you tried messing around with the seat so the front is lifted up, to give you support under your thigh?
  5. ps John, I think you took those boots from my wardrobe lol!
  6. I only realised about this gizmo when I took SWMBO keys by mistake, and as I sat in the car the damn seat and steering started to fold me up!, I'm 6'4 and good lady is 5'5!
  7. ok so I did a small test, I drove a month with it on and a month with it off, for those who worry about consumption it made no difference I prefer it on as it holds the gears longer on up change, and changes down earlier, I prefer this as sometimes it feels like the car is in too low a gear, which is I assume what Lexus want for their quietness and comfort levels I find it handy on the motorway as the car is ready to accelerate quicker and if you (occasionally) floor it, it knocks it down a couple of gears I also find when you are braking coming up to roundabout for example it changes down quicker The switch really is a 'however you feel you prefer to drive' switch SWMBO tuts when shes see its on, so its worth having on lol BTW I'm 51 and not a speed freak, It just suits me
  8. My commute is about 23 miles each way on a mixture of roads, I also sit in traffic for a while and I average 30mpg, not a stellar amount, but i'm happy with it and i just love my is250!! I had a Volvo diesel that used to get about 40mpg the same journey, so IMHO 250 all the way baby!! ps my wife has a RX350 that averages 19mpg lol
  9. Andy.................very ish! I'm 51 and consider myself a spring chicken! (not) As Stevet said, just be aware when it is revving at idle it can pull away quite quickly if you don't have your foot on the brake, I shot out of my drive a bit sharpish once or twice lol
  10. Yup mine does exactly the same, for us old farts its acting like the choke! Especially noticeable in the cold weather
  11. Totally agree with the previous comments, keep the is250!
  12. I always leave the heating in auto, which leaves the air con on, it helps as it recirculates through the thingy (can't remember the name) but it keeps the condensation away If I turn mine off the car steams up Don't think the air con runs when its cold anyway buts good for a quick demist as well
  13. That was my point, yes to the warning, but no to the repetition BTW heated seats in this weather, oh my lord what a luxury!
  14. Yeah my 'brakes' always assisted right hand turns, they pulled that badly!
  15. Haha, yes just arms with rubber strips that waved in the general area of the screen! Next discussion, all round drum brakes.................
  16. Come on people I'm from the era of Ford Escorts Mk2, hanging out the window poking the wipers with a stick and pouring water from a milk bottle!! All this new fangled malarky! And don't you old buggers try and deny you never did the same lol We love our cosy Lexus's (Lexi?) But god the old days were fun and hard lol
  17. Blimey I make a jocular remark, and get torn to shreds!
  18. I'll drive backwards and use the reversing cam!
  19. Blimey isn't it weird that Lexus think that your Washer bottle being low deserves a bright red triangle warning light and boing sound, yet low fuel is a hardly noticable amber light and no sound! Priorities people? lol
  20. Alarm maybe, does it flash red when car is locked?
