  5. My back doors don't unlock unless i open the drivers door, thought it was meant to be that way, same as them locking as you drive off If I pick anybody up I have to press the button to release the locks
  6. It was my back, got a replacement for 90 quid which I was happy with 225*40*18
  7. Oh memories, jacking up my Cortina and watching the jack go through the sill into the car, the only thing holding the car up was the carpet!
  8. Take a look at this beauty! 50mph and pop Its a padlock hasp that has been cut off, there is more in the tyre than showing! Damn industrial sites Edit, spelling of puncture needs some work lol
  9. @madasahatter.....................people of OUR age used blocks of wood lol All this fancy malarky now, haha
  10. I love the site, for getting info, amazing what you can learn just by browsing, but also a great bunch on here for general chit chat as well
  11. I agree with using the ECT mode, I think the Lexus way is high gear, low revs and quiet, but as you notice it stays in high gear too long I leave my ECT on permanently, economy hasn't changed and I feel the car is in the 'right' gear and more responsive when required
  12. Thats the beauty, even with that off the system still works in auto which is good
  13. I agree, diesels are absolutely ideal for the slog up and down motorways I have a 250 and do 50 miles round trip to work and back on a mixture of roads, I always get over 30mpg, which for 2.5l V6 is fine by me!
  14. sounds pretty much like mine You have demist blast button and a face blast button if you want the air elsewhere I tend to leave the auto on, I assume it thinks your tootsies will be cold on start up lol
  15. No it will still run, you turn it off on the touch screen/climate menu Auto defaults it to on I leave mine on, don't think it matters so much nowadays, I'm remember old school it would kill your economy! It keeps the car from steaming up in winter as well
  16. I have used this site, good prices and very reliable, I've bought blades for Mercs, Beemers and now my Lexus Thoroughly recommended http://www.wiperblades4u.co.uk/
  17. To be honest as I said earlier, and as a few other posters have said, I service my cars for the first 4 years at a main dealer to maintain my warranty, but as some have said you can you use an indy as long as they service within the set standards blah blah (aka any excuse to weedle out of warranty claims) Myself? Well I include myself in the hypocritical list 1. I use main dealers to maintain my warranty 2. I complain that they are a rip off! 3. I own 2 Lexus's (Lexi?) and never had to claim a warranty repair! I buy Lexus for their quality and reliability, get them serviced at a main dealer, moan about prices, and have never claimed ! see......................................what a bloody hypocrite Lol
  18. The simple answer is,if you think dealers are a rip off don't go!
  19. This is not unique to Lexus dealers, I have had a selection of models, I generally buy about a year old car, hopefully main recalls and depreciation have occurred! But to keep the warranty active I get dealer serviced, they are an appalling price, a Volvo service was 300 plus On the plus side the Air Con unit packed up and was replaced FOC under warranty, the invoice was £600! Once a car hits the 4 year mark I then look for the indys or chop it in You get poncy coffee, car washed, free baseball cap if you whinge enough, not sure that justifies £400 But as with lots of things it your choice at the end of the day Finding a reliable indy is our dream much like finding a plumber who turns up on time! lol
  20. Yes indeed. put the wheels on full lock and have a look at the angle, you would scrub at that angle lol
  21. I travel 50 miles a day going to work and back, I travel on a variety of roads and in traffic and my tank average always sits between 31 and 32 mpg, for a V6 2.5l I think that is more than acceptable, I used to have a 520d till the turbo blew................ouch not cheap! Its really up to you, I loved both cars but my preference is petrol If I was doing really high mileage I would reconsider the diesel option Horses for courses really
