  1. V8 all the way. As one of the very last naturally aspirated V8s out there it will be worth a fortune in 10 years time....at least that is what I keep telling myself
  2. Another car for the wife?
  3. Yes, very much this, especially when it is clean. Sunlight is best, or at night under the strip lights at a Shell garage. However, I think it suffers more than some other colours when dirty
  4. Helpful thread; I now know where to go when mine need doing. I'd been avoiding using the brakes as I didn't fancy the £2000 cost from Lexus for pads & discs
  5. That price would certainly put me off an LC500 as a next car. I think they are either betting that the LC will be a lot more unreliable, or they are choosing to extract more ££££s because they perceive LC owners can afford it. Neither are palatable conclusions.
  6. If she is used to being on the back of a motorbike, the IS-F will be a little bit more comfy
  7. That's the one Lee. What year is it? It looked in good condition and it the first one I've seen with wind deflectors around the windows
  8. Today at Lexus Chester, presumably in for a service. Beautiful black IS-F with private plate ending SFF Anyone on here?
  9. This all sounds very grim and a far too frequent problem. Does anyone know if the RC-F is at risk too? I imagine it will be a few years before any of ours start to reach 100k miles, but it would be good to know in advance
  10. Especially if they put the V8 in the wagon
  11. I loved how stealthy the IS-F was, even in the best colour (red of course). If they had made a replacement in the new shape, I would almost certainly have gone for that over the RC-F.
  12. I recall they were cool to the touch, so unlikely to be plastic
  13. Multi year packages from Chester save a bit, and the MoT is thrown in too
  14. And let's not forget the 2.0 L Subaru flat 4 turbo, especially with the Prodrive Performance Pack. The sweet spot was the 2004 WRX, which sounded sweeter than the higher bhp STIs
  15. The RC-F sounds awesome. Take one for a test drive; stick it in Sport or Sport + rev it past 3000rpm and see for yourself. There are some on the F forum who insist that an aftermarket exhaust is needed, but I think they are slightly deranged (though deranged isn't all bad, their videos do sound epic)
  16. Me too, even if they resurrected the dodgy Sportcross name from the IS Mk 1, it would still be on the radar
  17. PS You wrote "This generated 0% discussion on the LC forum 😞 so I have come back to the trusty F chat!" Reading the LC Forum from time to time draws me to the conclusion that LC owners are very different people to us F..ers
  18. Who knows what they are up to, but it would be a shame to lose the halo car. It would be out of my reach anyway If they bring the new IS 500 to the UK that could appear on my short list "Rumors of an IS 500 first started in Japanese magazine MAG-X, which claimed Lexus would use their 2UR-GSE 5.0L V8 to create the spiritual successor to the original IS F. Motor Trend followed up with a report suggesting it would instead be powered by the LS 500’s 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6. Given the IS 500 nameplate over the IS F, the TTV6 seems a more likely option."
  19. If it was just the first stamp and the rest were Lexus, and if Lexus would allow the warranty to be extended after 3 years, I would go for it...at the right price
  20. Nice; A few Jagermeister decals would be the icing on the cake
  21. Useful review. Thanks. The Type R is on my (very) short list when it comes to change
  22. If it is dry, simply take the long way home each time. Give it the beans in 2nd at every opportunity
  23. Nearly 5 years in the ISF and now coming up to 5 in the RCF too. Before Lexus I used to change cars every 2 to 2.5 years, but the F cars really are keepers
  24. Lexus Chester is up and running too. They have a simple and clear distancing system and are making sure people feel safe. They cleaned the car too. Outside they had a Sonic Titanium RC300h. I'd not seen that shade before and I quite liked it. I'm not normally a fan of grey or silver shades, but that looked smart.
