  1. I too have heard plenty of stories of shocking service from Porsche. Lexus, Subaru (1998-2010) and Mazda seem to be the standard to aim for
  2. Lexus also offer free 6 monthly 'health checks'. I've had quite a few advisories on brakes or suspension, which often are not mentioned the next time it goes in. I have my friendly local garage give a second opinion, and they have not yet found anything wrong.
  3. I wonder if Cheshire has the highest F car density? I've noticed quite a few in the county over the years I've seen no LCs on the road though; we are not that posh up here
  4. Overall height of course masks the leg to body ratio. I'm 6ft 4.5 in and comfortably drove a (no sunroof) IS-F for 5 years. I think my legs are mostly responsible for my elongated shape. Is there a non-F IS250 or 250D with a sunroof in NI that you could try out? The seats are different, but I drove an IS220D for many thousands of miles and the interior space felt the same as the IS-F
  5. Road Bikes: One summer (in picture), one winter, on old 1993 Cannondale that I'm not sure what to do with and a 15 year old Kona MTB. I was out today doing some hill training in preparation for my first sortie into N.Wales later in the week. It has been too long and I want to make the most of all their smooth EU funded roads before they fall apart.
  6. 16 Apr, early afternoon at the junction of the A556 and A49 at Sandiway. It is a long long time since I've seen a blue ISF, and I'd forgotten how good they looked, especially in the sun. If it was you, I was the cyclist who accosted you to say I loved your car

  8. That has leapt into my RCF Colour Top 3...Red is top of course, but Mercury is vying with Blue for 2nd spot
  9. What's the official name of the colour? I can't believe there are many RCFs in that shade.
  10. 31 March, parked in the small village of Sutton Lane Ends near Macc: Grey 15 plate RC-F It is the first I've seen in grey, and very nice it looked. Anyone on here?
  11. Yes, all present and correct. But it does need a good run out; I believe North Wales is opening up today.....
  12. Not mine...I hope. I'd better go and check in the garage...
  13. Let's hope our insurance premiums don't do up as a result. With such a small sample size, it is easy for insurers to perceive that the risk has increased. I believe it happened when Rowan Atkinson binned his McLaren F1, and our cars are not that much rarer
  14. Thanks David, this is helpful. Would use an independent invalidate the Lexus warranty?
  15. Anyone know an equivalent to Westfield up here in the North?
  16. I recall reading somewhere that the RCF was a bit of a mash up, with a Franken-chassis made up of IS. GS and IS Convertible sections. It is why it is heavier than needed. Can anybody corroborate this? It still a great car for me and on a par with the ISF
  17. How can we forget you Big Rat. Are you back in an RC-F?
  18. That all makes sense for hybrid batteries....everyday a school day
  19. Neutral is useful at traffic light; in Park the doors unlock
  20. This is a helpful thread; I've got the 6 year service coming up in June and I've covered less than 40,000 miles. Thanks
  21. Nearly new F cars lose money very quickly. My RCF was 3 months old with 1600 miles when it came up on the Lexus used website for £50,000. (about £11.500 under list at the time). They wouldn't move on the price, but gave me a much better than expected trade in on the IS-F
  22. I regularly read the LC pages in here and get the impression they have more reliability issues than our F cars. If Lexus have priced their expected warranty obligations, then unreliability needs to be paid for. It could also be that they expect people wealthy enough to have an LC will have no problem with £1200 per year
