  1. It took me nearly 5 years to replace the ISF. My longest ownership in recent history had been less than 3 years, but I too had the (nice to have) problem of not finding a replacement that would come anywhere near the overall satisfaction.
  2. Maybe they are hoping to shift some of the 30+ RC-Fs hanging around at dealer first and don't want people to be distracted? Quite a few are below £50k and have been hanging around for 8 months. Mind you Lexus marketing is rarely logical
  3. That Chester one has been hanging around for the best part of a year, maybe longer. They always seem to have steep prices on everything at Chester, but seem comfortable with that approach. If it works, then good luck to them.
  4. Since you asked so nicely, the px was £20k. On top of that I got one year road tax on the RC-F and 6 months refund on the IS-F, so it felt like a good deal to me. At the time the Parkers' book price for px was less than £18,000 so I was happy with what they offered. An extra bonus was the website advertised the RC-F as Mar 15 with nearly 2000 miles. I got there to find it was actually registered in late June with 1600 on the clock. It may have been a deliberate mistake to put me in a good mood; if so, it was a great tactic.
  5. Mr W; The Manchester one is indeed a 2009 model. It was mine and is great condition, but I think they are being somewhat ambitious with the price. I hope it doesn't sit around for too long, I want it to be used and loved again.
  6. I've just booked 3 Services (2 Intermediate and 1 full) plus 2 MOTs at Lexus Chester for my RC-F. The price is the same for an IS-F, hence my posting the information here. It cost £833.50 which is a nice 26.5% discount on the standard £1135 cost. I'm not sure if it is a Lexus wide offer, or just Chester.
  7. Now if they build this, we could both shift stuff around at very high speeds. Its almost perfect; just a bit too much like a Scirocco around the C-pillar
  8. You're very fortunate to have driven the RC-F and GS-F back to back Rayaan, Will you be buying the GS-F? I'd love to hear what its like to live with as it might be my next car when I change in a few years. I wonder if, with such limited numbers, there should be a aggregated 'F' forum to encompass IS-F, GS-F and RC-F. Maybe we could hold a place for the NX-F or CT-F. It wouldn't surprise me if they were in the pipeline to compete with various German offerings.
  9. There seems like a correlation going on here: RC-F owners. Love it and find its qualities flourishing over time. Mine keeps getting better and better by the way. Non RC-F owners. Have all sorts of valid personal reasons to disparage them, many of which involve imagined competitors. Its odd, because the IS-F seems to have universal appeal.
  10. RC-F. Its like the IS-F with everything turned up to 11. It is a little tight in the back, but OK for short journeys, and I've got a great new system called a Seasucker Mini-Bomber (the name alone made it worthwhile) to fit bikes on the roof. I've had more people ask me about it in 5 weeks than I had in 5 years in the IS-F
  11. I think you and I put a similar value on our time Stu. £4k would have covered the hassle for me too
  12. Thanks for posting the experience; it reconfirms my decision to trade mine in. I really wouldn't have had the patience to deal with the chancers and time-wasters. It helped that I got a trade-in that was quite a bit higher than I expected
  13. Its scrubbed up nicely. No sign of swirls or light scratches. The wheels are a pain to clean though .
  14. Any clue if the RC-F is being discontinued?
  15. Its a bit grubby at the moment. Weather permitting, I'll be giving it the clay bar and Armourshield treatment at the weekend. I'll take some more pictures then.
  16. I'll post updates as I find out ore. First impressions are overall very positive. Some specifics: In Eco mode around town and on motorways it responds like the IS-F did in Sport when I want to do small speed changes. The engine noise is wonderful. The IS-F does a bit at 3500rpm then tails off a bit. The RC-F goes to full Brian Blessed mode and stays there to the red line. Despite earlier reservations in Apr, I find the interior is a great place to be and looks amazing. The ride over bumps and potholes is much better; probably because they had a stiffer bodyshell to fix the suspension to. I love the thicker steering wheel The mpg is not representative as I've been playing with it. I've still yet to fully bond with the handling, but I think I need to adjust my driving style. Sport mode is great for fun driving. Sport + makes the gear changes harsh when pushing on
  17. Yes definitely; Shell Optimax and then Nitro plus was the almost exclusive diet of my IS-F. I'm now looking forward to flushing some through the RC-F and reaping the performance and mpg benefits
  18. The blue one I saw was gorgeous as well and I too was tempted to change from red. Black does not show off all the bits and pieces and white looked just wrong to me. I'd love to see an orange one in the metal. But then I went nearly 5 years without seeing another IS-F on the road so I won't be holding my breath.
  19. I averaged 24.7mpg over 36,000 miles. Its not to difficult if you don't use the brakes. Mine were still on the original pads and discs with plenty or wearl eft when I sold it last week
  20. Yes that is what I did last week, got a firm offer on my IS-F with the option to get more elsewhere. In the end I went for the trade in; it made life so much easier. Drive up, do some paperwork, drive away in new car
  21. Big hit = good news I've just bought one from Manchester, but couldn't see any swirls or light scratches as mentioned by Rayaan. Was it the red one you looked at? If it was, their pre-delivery preparation certainly involved a good polish. Where did the £47,000 figure come from by the way? I would really hope no-one there is disclosing transaction details to third parties. Interestingly it was advertised as March 2015, but was in fact registered in late June which was a bonus. The colour is superb and very different from the old Mesa Red on the IS-F
  22. So far, so very good. I was pondering going for blue, but once I saw it in the red, there was no option. It is noticeably different from the Mesa Red on the IS-F
  23. After 4 years and 10 months, I said goodbye today. If anyone comes across a red 2010 IS-F with just under 38,000 on the clock it will make a great buy; I've lovingly looked after it. If anyone spots BK10 NYX for sale and is thinking of buying it, I'll happily fill you in on the history. Currently its at Lexus Manchester, where I traded it in for this...
  24. More Than have been good for me for 4 years. No Tracker needed and 9k miles a year. I'm just over £300 including legal cover. A key attraction is that their call centre is staffed by intelligent and intelligible people, who seem to know their stuff and ask good questions. That gives me confidence that if I ever need to make a claim then I would get sense from them. I recall a few years back trying to explain what a Prodrive Performance Pack on an Impreza WRX was to a numpty at Aviva's call centre, which I believe was located somewhere that many would classify as the Developing World. I think he didn't own a car, and certainly showed he didn't have a clue by telling me the PPP counted as 4 modifications.
  25. I think Lexus Chester have a Blue 13 plate with White, They have been trying to sell it for a year, but have priced it high.
