  1. Very interesting report Olli, There are so many things that you say that make it seem like a 4 door RC-F. If it wasn't a size up I'd be very tempted. With my IS-F I used a dog hammock to put my road bike on the back seat; it worked perfectly and was very quick to fit. Now I use a seasucker minibomber which uses suction caps to fit on the roof of the RC-F
  2. I use one every 3-4 months. It'd very easy to use and creates a fantastically smooth finish before I re-apply the Armourshield. I use it in small bits, rather than the whole block. It also works on the wheels to get the crud off
  3. Yes, Broadspeed are offering new RC-Fs at £3k discount. Interestingly you can get £6k off a £60k Jaguar F-Type or £8k off an M4 from the same place.
  4. I've tried mine too. No chance of a credit card sliding in. The seal is tight. That would explain the peace and quiet inside
  5. I use one of these on the RC-F https://www.seasucker.com/shop/mini-bomber/#tab-description Its so much easier than traditional bars and they also do racks for boards and kayaks https://www.seasucker.com/product-category/board-kayak/
  6. I had thule roof bars for my IS-F which conveniently also fitted on my wife's IS 220d. They worked very well for 3 mountain bikes
  7. The 10 plate Manchester one was mine and had no faults when I traded it in last Sep. Its been around a while because they priced it high due to its great condition. If you can find a way of looking at all my posts on here you'll see comments on it stretching back to Nov 2010 when I bought it. I'm very surprised they changed the discs and pads; there was a lot left on them when I traded it in. I wonder if someone has been taking it home and thrashing it since it left my hands. Or maybe they had a spare set lying around and it cost them very little to put on and they thought it would make it even more appealing.
  8. I didn't notice anything like that in 36,000 miles. I would go out and try to replicate it out of curiosity, but the IS-F is gone
  9. Mine seems very quiet when cruising; even more peaceful than the IS-F. And not surprisingly several steps up from the Subarus I've owned What car did you have before? Was it a particularly quiet one?
  10. The white looks surprisingly nice to me. I'm not normally a fan of white unless they are on 911 GT3s, Integra Type Rs and ....that's about it really. The only other white one I've seen was at Lexus Stockport which had a badly applied partial carbonfibre wrap. I thought it looked awful.
  11. PS. I love the orange, but am not quite brave enough for it
  12. The RC-F forum is very quiet. There are not many of us on there. Or there could be lots of us, but we could all be quiet people
  13. I find that if I avoid using the pedal on the left, then I can still go very fast. 1500 was a bit of a guess though. Life is a bit to short to work out how much exactly
  14. Nearly 5 years for me. One new set of tyres and that was it. Unless you count 1500 gallons of V-Power
  15. I've not asked for individual RC-F service prices wendle, but £1135 was the start point for years 1,2 and 3. The IS-F was certainly as you described: Years 1,3 and 5 were minor, with years 2 and 4 bigger. I sold it before the 6 year service, but it was due to be a biggie. I also suspected I was due new brakes in 2016, and possibly new tyres. So it was cheaper to by the RC-F
  16. Good point on the MOTs. I have a vague memory that the first MOT is now after 4 years instead of 3. So the MOT bit could be worthless. I'll ask when I'm next in. Do let us know what deal you get on the 1st service
  17. Peace of mind all the way for me. I can just make one call and any problem will go away.
  18. Lexus Chester for me. I've been going there for 5 years plus and my wife also used them for 4 years with her IS. The bonus of Chester is the easy access to great driving roads for test drives whilst they service your car
  19. If you fancy a red one that's been properly cared for; my old IS-F is in Lexus Manchester for £25,000. I bought it when it was 8 months old from Lexus Warrington when it 2800 miles on the clock. Red is, of course, the best colour. http://usedcars.lexus.co.uk/used-IS-F/IS-F/5.0/Manchester/2070391-605286534-1609630.aspx?srcmdc=se_na_re_ It should still have a Warranty until Mar 2017 too
  20. Hi Zahir, welcome to the forum. Which RC-Fs are you looking at, or have you taken the plunge already? We need some more RC-F owners on the forum
  21. The 2 year warranty for £895 is still a bargain. They used to quote £795 per year, and occasionally ran a promotion of 2 years for the price of one. I'd suggest buying it whilst it at that price.
  22. I like it, but can't see what the extra £40k over an RC-F brings. But I'll certainly borrow one for a good go once they arrive in dealerships.
  23. I've had mine about 14 weeks and love it. I find the ride to be very smooth and the suspension to be much better resolved than the IS-F I had before; though the IS-F is known for its hard ride. I use it in automatic and economy mode for cruising around, but often put it into Sport Sharp and use the paddles. This gives incredible acceleration and a wonderful noise. I find the gearbox to be excellent. I'm averaging 25.1 mpg at the moment according to the readout. That includes many school runs and the occasional motorway trip in the 2700 miles driven so far. I too get well over 30mpg on a long run. The attention is gets may be a positive or negative point for you. In 5 years of IS-F I had only a handful of comments. Now I get attention at least once a week, with plenty of people asking about the car and taking photos. The only downside for me, and it is slight negative, is the room in the back. But since the alternative was an F-Type which had no rear seats at all, having somewhere where a 5'9" passenger can travel in relative comfort for 2 hours is a bonus. As I'm 6'4", there is no room behind my seat though. Where are you thinking of buying from Tim?
  24. That will be extra rare 5 seat Police variant then. 500 in the country. No previous owners. The ad doesn't give me confidence
  25. I'd say you could get Chester to throw in a 2 year extension on the warranty to sweeten the deal, or a service package; they are doing offers on them now.
