  1. EVO is a key source of car information for me; many of mine have been awarded 5 stars by them. Though I noticed the IS-F was downgraded to 4 1/2 stars after a few years.
  2. According to howmanyleft.co.uk, there are 175 RCFs after less than 2 years on sale. It took the ISF 4 years to get to 174. I'm not sure what conclusions to draw from that. I'd be happy if the numbers stay low as it might help residuals.
  3. The blue exterior and white seat options came in for Model Year 2010. That is also when the blue bit on the base of the steering wheel arrived. Mine was one of quite a few on a '10' plate that were actually MY 2009
  4. The first RCF I drove was black with red leather. It looked very nice, but would certainly not work with blue or red exterior
  5. Service plans from Lexus Chester all the way for me. They save money and I get a free 6 monthly health check thrown in. That gives me the chance to have a look at / drive new stuff as it comes in.
  6. Mine came fitted with one. When I realised the annual subscription was a lot more than any discount for having one fitted, I cancelled the subscription. It had a problem when it was 'on' so a Tracker guy came out to fix it. It took him ages to find where it was and told me each of the fitters had their favourite hiding spots. The way they each wire and fit it leaves a signature, so he could recognise in many cases which of his colleagues had first installed it. If anyone out there has my old one: Red BK10 NYX, I can tell you where it is if you need to know
  7. Whilst there are cracking deals on nearly new XFRs, both it and the GS-F are too big for my liking.
  8. 5'10" is about the tallest you can get in the back of the RC-F and yes, the boot is pleasantly big The Alfa is very well packaged; it feels bigger inside in all ways than the IS-F. I have a 5'11" son, so that's one reason for the Alfa. Its also properly fast compared to the RC-F, which is itself a (small) step up from the IS-F. Before I change, I'll let this forum know in case anyone fancies buying my RC-F
  9. An Aston N430 with manual box has crossed my mind, as I think depreciation would be low, and it should appreciate after another 5 years. But that would mean keeping it to <3000 miles a year. Then I'd need another car as a daily driver. Someone asked why RC-F to Alfa. The answer is that one day I'll want to change and I always start to plan my next car early (12-24 months ahead). Part of the satisfaction is the hunt for the right car. After being in Lexus Chester today for a health check (Still 5mm tread on the RC-F tyres after 13000 miles) I will certainly have a good look at the LC500 when it arrives in the summer.
  10. Before I got the IS-F I tried Infiniti G37, AMG C63, VXR8 and Subaru WRX Sti. Infiniti: Too rare to be able to get hold of the right spec as an ex-demo and ordering a manual one ti be built would be financial suicide, C63: £10k more than the IS-F for similar age / miles, also Merc dealers. VXR8: HUge fun but too big for me. Subaru: Bit rough. And I'd already had 5 ever faster Scoobies After 5 years in the IS-F, I tried several Jaguar F-Types and a Jaguar XES before settling on the RC-F. If Jag had an XER, that probably would have been the one for me as I like 4 doors. The XES was too slow, so a 5 litre V8 would have done the trick Its looking very likely that my next switch will be into an Alfa Giulia Quadrifoglio. A brief test drive was great fun in Dec, and I'll be going back for a longer outing when the I get time, and when the weather is better. The dealer experience is a concern though, so lets hope Jag build the R to give me a choice. Or if Lexus make another IS-F....
  11. And the RCs are all still within warranty and seem as reliable as the ISF. Though one chap did have trouble with a door seal and became very militant. That was quite an amusing thread. .
  12. Short answer: Yes please.
  13. The Infiniti G37 is great; I tried both coupe and saloon and nearly bought one over the IS-F in 2010. The only problem was finding a nearly new one in the spec I wanted. I would have had to order one which would have cost the same as an 8 month old IS-F. There should be enough out there to have choice now
  14. I've not driven the RC300h, but when I had an IS300h for a day, I stepped out of it thinking "if I was driving 30,000 miles a year, this would be a perfect car". I imagine the RC would be even more serene
  15. I had an interesting experience today. After about 90 mins of fun in North Wales driving in S+ and using the paddles, I put it back in Eco Auto for the final 30 miles. In a couple of places near home that I drive most days there was an unusual hesitation to shift down this afternoon. I wonder if I confused the AI by giving it the beans for such a length of time. I'll see if the hesitation happens again this week.
  16. I do very rarely get a hesitation. Its only in Eco mode and happens sometimes on a local road that has a short, steep section. If I want to overtake or accelerate, I have learnt to put it in sport or sport + and use the paddles to choose a gear. I find using kick-down provides an inconsistent response, especially in Eco, so I don't use it. My ISF had similar characteristics, but not as obvious. I assumed it was a normal characteristic of auto boxes. Historically I have avoided autos so have a limited experience of what a good one is and there are several cars that I didn't buy after a test drive because of an unsatisfactory auto. The IS-F and C63 are the only ones I liked It a pity Lexus don't fit manuals in the Fs
  17. Welcome Soperman. I think this is the only UK RC-F forum and it is quite quiet. I also spend time on the busier IS-F forum as many of the topics are still relevant. What colour? Where from? What sort of deal did you squeeze out of them?
  18. Congratulations on the GSF purchase. Maybe its time to have a combined forum for the ISF, GSF and RCF?
  19. The end of next year might be when I want to change so do keep me in mind. Though, as with the IS-F, it will be a hard car to replace. Every time I test drove something else and got back in the IS-F to drive home, I found myself thinking; "why would I get rid of this?"
  20. My first (longer) reply has just been deleted....rats RC-F is excellent; getting faster and still looks unique I had an IS-F for nearly 5 years. Was that you with the white one that I spoke with at Rally Fest on Saturday?
  21. Interesting swap. I'm seriously considering an M2 next, with a manual gearbox. But getting a test drive, or even to sit in one is posing a problem
  22. I got the request too from Tez. If it had been 13 months ago, it would have been perfectly timed
  23. These are a little late Its not often you meet another on the road, so we inevitably parked together
  24. MNMJ

    Wow

I just remembered I have an unusual photo of an LFA from Goodwood, and a bonus LC 500 shot too
  25. After an IS-F and RC-F, I'm very seriously considering an Alfa Guilia Quadrifoglio. Its not a V8, but does seem a step up in performance and much better specced than various German rivals. I'm hoping for a test drive in a couple of weeks
