  1. Chester will be getting an LC500h in as a demonstrator, but not the proper one. I had a go in the 500 recently and was very impressed with the noise. The extra weight is noticeable and blunts the acceleration, but it handles well. I love the interior, especially in the red LC500h one that is doing the rounds. The driving environment is excellent, but back seat and boot space is down on the RC. The LC500h has a comedy boot
  2. I almost always wait until it reaches 0 miles, or later. From extensive experimentation, 0 miles means there will be about 2 gallons left in the tank, so anything between 40 and 60 miles of driving depending on the road you are on. This works for ISFand RCF In 7 years, my fuel pumps have never caught fire through lack of cooling.
  3. On Monday 26th they will have two at Chester
  4. Thanks, I'll ask Lexus Chester what is going on and then phone the other nearby ones. I'll let you know what comes up
  5. Has there been an LC event in the UK? If so I'll have to give my dealer a kick as I asked them to let me know. Or maybe they think I'm not the right sort of customer? I am over 50 and over 6ft, so seem to tick two of the boxes....
  6. Great choice. Are you trading your RC-F against it?
  7. That may even improve the looks in my eyes. I'd need to see it in blue or red to be sure
  8. Before I bought my IS-F, I tracked prices for 8 months. The cars at many dealers would regularly jump up and down in price. The one I bought had varied by £3,500 over 2 months. Maybe its to do with needing to shift cars to meet sales targets per month or quarter?
  9. In case anyone wonders what it looks like from above. Taken from the Lexus hospitality box at Goodwood last year
  10. When I took mine in, they sent their 'expert' driver out in it to do some hard stops. Apart from putting extra wear on the pads, discs and tyres, it had no effect. I suspect it is not as bad as on your GSF Colin, so I'm ignoring it for now
  11. Its standard on the RC-F, or at least it was on the early cars. Lexus seem to be making things that used to be standard features into pay-extra option, so who knows what the 2017 MY ones are like
  12. That sounds rather lovely. I understand that they were very fast, but not reliable enough to win much.
  13. I tried it a couple of times in my IS-F, but then gave it up. The RC-F seems much better, though nowhere near perfect. Maybe the LC-F will get it right?
  14. The one on the right.. When John Steed's XJC came on the market; I did wonder. But then I looked at renovation costs and calmed down a bit.
  15. Impreza RB 5, with PPP and proper wing
  16. Thanks Chris, the adverts make it sound impressive, but its useful to have corroboration from another RC-F owner. I'll see who does it locally and find out what the charge will be. I suspect it will need some minor paint correction, as they call it
  17. That is a really good price for one in the equal best colour and with such a low mileage. What do you think of the Crystal Serum protection Chris? I am pondering it now I've decided to keep mine for another few years. Was yours professionally done or DIY?
  18. Go the long way home from work once every few days and give it some revs. I do plenty of short trips (a consequence of village life) and was also concerned. So I make sure I warm the engine up properly at least a couple of times a week. Both Fs have been absolutely fine with this treatment
  19. My man-maths says depreciation is OK over a long enough time. The IS-F dropped £19,000 in just under 5 years. I suspect i'll keep the RC-F for just as long, so hopefully the curve will flatten out. Any thoughts of changing it have been totally banished after my recent road trip
  20. The RC-F has a tyre pressure monitor. I put 3 bar in the tyres before going into Germany, and then had the pressure monitor visible to see if there was overheating. I assume there would be a warning, as there is when they fall below 2 bar, but I wanted to be safe. 3.2 bar was the highest I saw. Its good to hear the IS-F does what it claims too as well
  21. I understand top speed is 6th and the top two gears are for economy. I don't know where that info came from, so it may need checking I wouldn't fancy 167 anywhere other than autobahnen. Where are your roads?
  22. There is more on one entitled Isf v RCF depreciation. I've no idea how to link to it. Apologies for being a technoretard
  23. There were many far nicer things there then the Mustang, but I thought this an appropriate picture for the forum. I think I must have been the slowest thing on track yesterday, at least until the massive thunderstorm when people were going off left, right and centre. It was a LOT twistier and steeper than on X-Box and I couldn't find the re-set button in case I binned it. The lap went a long way to confirm that experience and driver talent count for a lot more than power; I wouldn't recognise the need for a Dab of Oppo until I was parked upside down in the Armco.
  24. I discovered that the RC-F seems to have a top speed limiter and wonder if the IS-F has one too. I was ambling along the new bit of the the A4 autobahn near Duren on Sunday morning and decided to see what I could get to. Several times I hit 177 mph on the clock, and each time the engine note changed and the acceleration stopped. It was pulling strongly before 177, so I estimate it would have got to 185 or 190. I did sneak it to 178 one time, but that was after giving it full throttle all the way out of roadworks from 30mph all the way to the top so I imagine the momentum carried it over That was fun! The quoted top speed is 171mph = 275kph so I would guess 177 is a true 171 Its amazing how easy a 130mph cruise turns into 175+, and cornering at 160 was so relaxed. Go over to Germany and have a bash. Go on; you know you want to
  25. Yes I have. Rather than repeating stuff already posted, is there a way of searching for my posts by name rather than trawling all the threads?
