  1. It turns out mine does have ML on the build sheet. Something odd must have been happening a couple of years ago with the spec sheet
  2. That makes sense. I shall ask Lexus Chester next week when I'm in for service & MOT
  3. Those wheels remind me of the baddies helicopter from Bond's The World is Not Enough
  4. I do recall checking my car on a valuation website a while back, and the spec came up as without ML. This could cause a problem at resale time or when a dealer does an enquiry for a trade in price. The answer would be to sit someone in the car and show them the ML system, but still it might cause suspicion of dodgy dealings (how much are ML stickers anyone?)
  5. Yes, but with a frightening extended warranty cost for the LC I checked on Autotrader today for the first time since Aug 2019, and the trade in value of my RCF has only dropped by £830 in 10 months. After eye-watering initial depreciation, I'm very happy with that, especially as I've been scared to look with the supposed Covid 19 price apocalypse
  6. Lexus hold a sheet which supposedly records the spec.
  7. Mine is the same; badged ML in the car, but the spec sheet says W/O. I shall ask for clarity when I get the 5yr service done later this month. Maybe the mis-labelling only applies to red RC-Fs?
  8. Is being noticed important to you? If so, an RC-F gathers much attention, whilst the IS-F is stealthy. The only downside of the RC-F is not easily fitting my road bike in the backseat. The IS-F could swallow a large bike easily, whilst it needs to go on the roof of the RC-F
  9. Bordon Camp used to throw some great parties
  10. I wonder if the US military mechanics are as filthy as our REME craftsmen?
  11. They could wrap it in Orange to appeal to half the population out there?
  12. I'm 6'4" and drove an ISF nearly 40,000 miles. It was very comfortable. I wouldn't classify myself as "a bit built", so can't help you there. If you are not doing too many miles per year, the IS-F could be a good option as you shouldn't lose too much on it. A £35k GS-F probably has another £5-10k to lose quite quickly, depending of course on the mileage.
  13. Its simple: buy both. I expect there will be some cracking deals over the next months, and when the market picks up in 2021 you can sell the one you like less for a profit.
  14. Over 10 years, my experiences with Lexus sales people have been crap 95% of the time. The service staff have been 95% excellent. On balance, I'd prefer it that way round
  15. Colour very much Yes.. it reminds me of a Jaguar shade from many years ago. As for the collapsed suspension...very much No
  16. x3 on the Yaris. That would be my daily driver and I'm imagining pairing it with a Nissan 370z convertible in Black Rose. I've never had a convertible, nor a V6, so that would tick 2 new boxes. The Yaris could be a pleasant throwback to my 5 Impreza Turbos, WRXs and STIs
  17. I have pondered a trade in against a LC500. However I read the LC forum on here and notice far too many quality /reliability issues cropping up. And the extended warranty is crazy (AMG / Merc / Audi) money, which suggests Lexus have no confidence in it working. I can see me in the RCF for another couple of years yet
  18. Many years back Lexus Chester had the red press car in. They told me they were doing a massive job on it and changing lots of bits under warranty for the new owner. That seems like a good idea as reliability is a key factor in the ISF proposition. Maybe GU08VSN had similar treatment somewhere in the network?
  19. I used Thule roofbars on the IS too. I could also fit my racing bike (XL size) in behind the seats if I was transporting only one bike. I used a dog hammock to protect the seats I'd love to have folding seats on the RCF, but there is only a 'ski-hatch'. Instead I use a Seasucker minibomber: I don't have a sunroof, so both suckers go on the roof and I can open the boot
  20. I've just had the 2 for 1 offer for warranty renewal. Its still £995 for the RC / RC-F and a hardly believable £795 for the IS / ISF. But there is no 2-4-1 offer for the LC; it is £1495 for one year or £2395 for two years....that is now off my list for my next car. To me that says they have no confidence in the reliability of the LC. The most IS-Fs I can recall for sale was about 13 on the Lexus site, but that was way back in early 2010 when I started seriously looking. They even had 5 yummy red ones to choose from
  21. Right area for me, but not mine
  22. I use one of these if I have to park anywhere that looks dodgy. https://www.autolok.co.uk/products/autolok-2000-plus-steering-wheel-lock Mine looks slightly different as I bought it to protect an Impreza Turbo parked on the street in South Manchester in the late 90s. The fact that such a car could go unnicked a mile from Wythenshawe is testament to its deterrent effect.
  23. I had a front shock replaced under extended warranty last week, though I imagine its easier for the dealer to argue the case on a 4.5 year old car. The price they quoted on the health check sheet was £627, but it is not clear if that was for one or the front pair
